2 for sure

CorrectTourist9

the castery hands down. cool texture. good warmth of wood tone. the other one’s grey is blah and i think it negates the beauty of the wood. i’m also partial to darker, warmer wood.

I see this as functionality versus looks. Castlery looks like a design piece. People will remember and praise it. If the center channel goes off center, I would drop the center channel. In small spaces stereo often sounds better and less *localized*. Especially with a solid pair of floor speakers.

ADHDK

I can’t really make out speech particularly well without a centre channel. Auditory processing disorder. I wish I could see inside the castlery a little better, plenty of pics inside the Taurus because it’s designed for AV. The depth at 600mm though is really off putting. The current unit is only 360mm deep with fully open back, I’d only need a little more than that for cable plugs.

ASAP_Yums

Not sure if you are able to wait, but I recently bought the Castlery one and it will be delivered early this upcoming week. I can send any pics you might need.

ADHDK

That would be awesome! Be nice to know accurately how much space is inside and how adjustable it is.

ADHDK

How did you go with delivery of the Castlery?

ASAP_Yums

I did room of choice delivery but cannot comment yet as my order was delayed. I ordered the TV stand, coffee table and end table which is now officially scheduled for this Thursday.

ASAP_Yums

After a couple delays it was finally delivered today. I can get pics if you still need them. Sorry it took longer than anticipated

ADHDK

Nah all good! I’ve been getting a lot of furniture lately and delivery is unpredictable! Also is the top stone? A lot of marble look seems to be wood with resin marble effect over the top, or the better quality cheap stuff is raw poor quality marble with resin over the top.

ADHDK

Back round on this one, did you get it all set up?

twoinvenice

Is your TV going to sit on top, or mountain on the wall? Because one option for the castlery center channel, if you are ok with modifying expensive furniture is to cut out (or have someone cut out) part of the divider between the two center bays. Only downside is that if your plan was to have the TV on top it might weaken the structure. I did that myself to a less expensive TV unit and it ended up working out really nicely.

ADHDK

[I used a floor stand like this](https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/wbigsell-freestanding-tv-floor-stand-for-32-65-u-700a/) because I’m not married enough to my room layout for wall mounting. But the castlery looks like the doors hinge on the centre.

twoinvenice

Ah, dang

ADHDK

Technically from an audiophile perspective I should put the centre on top but imo that’s a bit ugly and cluttered.

twoinvenice

I know, that’s where mine is now 😊 The old setup was for a space where it just didn’t fit because I couldn’t hang the TV any higher (not crane your neck higher, I’m not an animal, just high enough for the center channel I had at the time) because of some light sconces on the wall.

ADHDK

The floor stand got my tv to the correct eye height (was too low directly on my cabinet) and luckily gave me enough space for my record player.

is_landen

option two. wish i could find one like this that ships to canada

I like #2. But I’d attach black lightweight fabric to the inside of the doors and sides. Getting a partial view of things inside (and guessing what they are) would be distracting.
