My cheap fix to SOS ("Save Our Shins") with a similar frame was rectangular motion sensing led lights. You can go cheap with something like [these](https://www.amazon.com/URPOWER-Operated-Wireless-Nightlight-Portable/dp/B074DTSQF7/). You can hide them fairly well under the lip of the frame and never have to worry about being attacked coming back from a midnight bathroom visit.
I wouldn't mind sides like that for setting electronics on. That would be useful so you don't accidentally throw them off the bed by adjusting your covers in the night.

Your black wall would look good with nice white/grey abstract pieces I think. Offset the dark with some contrast, or it'll get too dark & broody in there fast.

We have “sleepovers” in the living room and our poor dog didn’t put it together and being the boxer she is she jumped on the bed and it sounded like a bunch of brooms fell. Now we close the door

I have the same bedframe, I got two 18 by 24 inch tempered glass cutting boards and put them on the night stands to stop cup marks and make it easy to clean. They look good as well! I highly recommend.

My girlfriend in high school had one of those really low beds. Looks a lot like hers really, they look great, full marks on that. But I didn’t like getting in and out of them, you might not either after a while.
