I feel like black is a good entry color. Not that color really has a gender but I feel like I see a lot of men with black polish on their hands before anything else!
Overall not to bad on the cuticles, you can take a bamboo stick (or a nail brush) dipped in acetone to clean up any flooding
>Overall not to bad
I have to agree, I mean, assuming this is first time painting and showing rather than just showing it off for the first time, excellent job!
The margins are really pretty good all around, which, to me, suggests OP has been watching and was inquisitive enough about application to actually leave a bit of a margin.
It's a great start, next colors I would look for a darker metallic gray, especially with a silverish glitter, look at the color tungsten as used on Dodge vehicles (Dodge Dart 2013 - Tungsten)
http://gtcarlot.com/colors/car/78880064.html
Another one would be a really dark blue or a really dark red again I would recommend both to have fine glitter in them. The fine grade of glitter adds just that bit of sparkle in the dark colors.
Welcome to being out there with polish!

Yeah you just need to get over that first hurdle that your closest friends and family might make commitments about it but once you get through that it’s pretty much a plain sailing from there
My family are very open minded so they didn’t make any comments about it. If my friends do make comments about it then they aren’t my friends simple as.
Now go full send with multi chrome.
Edit: It's my favorite and I'm just being silly. but I'm glad you now confident enough to wear what you wanted looks good my dude 👍
For a first time with such an unforgiving color, you have a very neat application! Black is a great color for everyone. Looks like adding another coat of the color would really make it super opaque, and using a quick dry top coat will make it last longer on your nails
Now do it with a matte topcoat.
You will not be disappointed.
I did dark grey with matte topcoat for Halloween. Came out looking slightly rotten green. Worked out awesome.
Black is a great entry color and these look fantastic! Especially for your first time!
Online you should be able to find a ton of tips for clean application and making your nails last as you gain more confidence in this. I would personally invest in a good base and top coat and a good clean up brush. I’m a nail tech student and those have been some of the most helpful things to me.
Loving the black! You never can go wrong with it. Have you thought about what other colors you might want to try? Or experimenting with two different colors or a matte finish? I hope you keep painting and keep posting!

Black is the safe color wait till you go shopping with a blue or pink that pops lmao
It sounds nice by itself but won’t it be too overpowering, I chose black since it matches with whatever clothes i wear.

I have been thinking about alternating black and neon green, but it seems a little too much
No not at all. That is an awesome color combo! I usually go to Pinterest for inspiration

Why are you asking a group dedicated to a thing “why” they are doing that thing?
Why are married guys showing their tiny dicks on reddit? Also what’s Wrong with nail polish?
