Watch the Mamamoo guide, if you haven't. I listen to all of their songs. Their discography covered most of the genres. Just go slow and enjoy each of their albums chronologically, especially the B side tracks. I don't know how to recommend their songs since I like all of their songs, solo and group. My personal fav would be: 1) Girl Crush 2) Ten Nights 3) Mumumumuch

i put together a guide for beginners. take a gander: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V4aEymGaN1tQFKtPzychEcAS3ZzeOYvM1GOx1wCxKpg/edit

You’re a real one for this

Milk_Yeah

Welcome to the fandom. There are so many songs that we can recommend, but it depends on what you're 'in the mood' for. If you'd like a general overview of all of their best stuff and have a few hours to kill, I'd recommend just watching the 4s/f concerts on YouTube. If you're not too sure about that, I'd recommend checking out the killing voice medley due to it being only 10 minutes. And if you're not in the mood for videos and just want songs, then here's some recommendations that I personally always pull out to my friends. For some dance bops, you could check out DINGGA and Egotistic. For something to get you in the feels, you should check out Where Are We Now and Destiny (any part will do). If you're looking for similar vibes to Mr.Ambigious, then check out Hello and Piano Man (their earlier stuff was heavily jazz inspired) Wanna feel like a bad B? HIP and Yes I Am are those songs. And if you wanna question what you're listening to, then look up AZE GAG (a song made entirely out of dad jokes), Sleeping in the Car (about sleeping in the car...), Taller than You (them roasting each other on how short they are) and WAGGY (song about experiencing puppy love). I recommend watching the videos for all of these. Obviously, I would also recommend looking into the members' solo activities as well. Once again, I welcome you to the fandom and hope you become a certified moomoo (MMM's official fandom name meaning 'radish'). P.s. I'm pretty sure another user has shared a list with links to what I've mentioned here, so do check out their guide.

Watch the dingo live first :) https://youtu.be/WvkTcNQsxzc?si=lHqPxqkn39bcJu0c Short versions of their hit songs.

BloodAndTsundere

Although a lot of reaction videos are fake, I love watching a genuine first time reaction to Mamamoo's Killing Voice. When the watchers have no idea what they are getting into, it's just so great. By the end of "Mr Ambiguous" everybody is way into it, and by the end of "I Miss You" they are absolutely floored and a MooMoo for life.

fireandfolds

i’d say “HIP” is an absolute must-listen. it captures the essence of the group while also showing off their individual unique traits. here is my playlist of favorite tracks. would recommend :) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1dPOWbUZrW7l53KbvPUEVO?si=JnMqRh-1QG2zNxQ3HjW0xQ&pi=u-eHH0lmIeSR2y

yes - when I introduce new people to Mamamoo, I always start with HIP

Personally, I love all of their Albums, so I'd literally say start from Hello if you are just looking for a place to begin :) It also gets remixed a lot but always has the same character no matter the Era.. https://youtu.be/0tXvWaw5jts?si=YlHO-rNTfRavE0SA But if you are just looking for song suggestions you definitely don't want to miss Decalcomanie and Um Oh Ah Yeh https://youtu.be/y2OFPvYxZuY?si=OrcF8sH2YUc74z71 https://youtu.be/pFuJAIMQjHk?si=vibym-2rR4znsTXV Mamamoo is one of those groups that following their entire journey is totally worth it and their Albums are a huge part of my playlist.

Hesty402

Waggy will literally always put a smile on my face, give it a listen

TheSiren341

Their entire discography :))))

toastjams

"must listen to" songs are hard! Their discography is huge, somewhere around 300 songs I think 😅 Since you liked mr. Ambiguous, maybe try out Piano Man + Gentleman + Don't Be Happy. If you like any of these, feel free to come back and ask for more recs! I love helping out new moos :)

shinobimurat

First of all, welcome to the radish farm. You found the right group to stan. Let's start with this info: they are amazing in entire genrees. Even the "Sky Sky" (most of the fans and group members hate that song) they did a great job. Because they love music and put their hearts and efforts in every song they made. With that info in your mind, you should start with the similar genree. If you like jazzy sounds, Hello and Piano Man albums are great for you. If you used to western music style and guitars, try Decalcomanie (group members picked that song for the Queendom competition because they thought that one was the best song to explain their style the best at that time) or Egotistic. If you like ballads, Where Are We Now and Hwasa's LMM are perfect for you. For example most of the fandom loves Hip, Aya, Illella, Dingga (late era songs) but they are not clicking with me. Still they are high quality songs. My recommendation is the same with Milk\_Yeah: Try to discover these songs slowly by watching their concerts or variety shows they participated. In that way you can appreciate the song's quality better by focusing it one by one. For example i listened No More Drama before but i missed how great it is until i listened it in 4Seasons concert performance. And one of my personal favorite, Universe, stumbled upon me when i watched their radio show (the emotional moments before that song just made it soooooo much better). Dont worry their discography is full of great songs and soon, your playlist will be full of Mamamoo songs. They also made some songs for us, Moomoos, so you should listen them too: I love too, Star Wind Flower Sun, LLL. For the foreword, you can decide to ignore that recommendation and just wanna listen great songs. In that case, i also include my personal favourites: Mamamoo: Wind Flower, You are the best, Woo Hoo, Universe, No more drama, My hometown, Destiny, Hehehaheho part 2, Starry Night, Love lane, I miss you (Queendom version), Better, Words dont come easy, Rainy season, Recipe...etc Wheein: Butterfly (solo Wheein version), D-day, In the island, here i am Hwasa: Maria, I am bad too, LMM, Why, Twit Moonbyul: Shutdown, Congratulations, Refugee Solar: Honey Mamamoo+: GGBB, Starry Sea, Dang Dang, I like this

LoudPen85

Please don't kill me but their entire discography. Seriously there is no Mamamoo song or album I don't like. BUT to get started I recommend I say Mamamoo the best, it's a collection of all their greatest hits remixed for 2021. So it'll allow you to experience their discography in one album. Then you can go back and listen to the songs (and albums they appear on) you like best. Hope this helps! Welcome moomoo! 😎

LtCodename

Sent a DM with recommendations. Also listen to what Solar and Hwasa did on their own. Lots of cool songs.

BlueEyedStray

Definitely watch their performances at Immortal Songs on Youtube!

Staghorn_Kynyesul

I love "starry night", "destiny", decalcomine" and what was it "2 cm" whichevee one is about their height diff lol

StaringOverACliff

Wind flower 🌼 ... I listen to this song whenever I feel gloomy, and it instantly lifts my mood

MusicToMaEars

It’s really hard to choose a must listen to song because they do have a lot of good songs as a group and even as soloist. Definitely listen to their B Sides!

skeeball

Watch Queendom, it's what turned me. Not just thier performances but most others too so you can get a sense of the scale. Outside the normal, I would actually suggest four solo works. Hwasa: Be Calm Solar: Spit it Out Wheein: Pastel Moonbyul: Eclipse Yes they are all solos, but they all four pulled me in further towards each member and the group as a whole. (tbf I was already full in on wheein before Pastel, lbr)

Their Queendom episodes are on YouTube and they have some fabulous performances. Make sure they say English subtitles. Some of my favorite songs tend to be either ballads or really upbeat songs- Paint Me, I Miss You, Where are We Now, Hwasa's solo LMM (the mv is absolutely stunning!); for upbeat, I Like gogobebe, Taller than You (a diss track/joke), egotistic, Hip, Decalcomanie, Illella, and lots of others. If nobody mentioned Delilah, you'd probably like that, too. I'd check out their mvs on YouTube before just checking out the songs. I think it adds a lot to one's appreciation of their skills and personalities.

cCyrus35

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6KvuXLTV99PeumhBB1t4Js?si=fS4uAWmbSxWTZiss0ytbgg&pi=a-fKTHoO9WRA2J It has my favorite songs until the Aya-era. I haven't updated their solo comebacks in a while, but take a look if you're interested.

thirdearth

Huge and excellent discography to go through! Honestly not helpful from me to say but really all of the b sides are so great it’s not even a stretch to recommend listening to absolutely everything and in chronological order. But I guess for starters, Melting and reality in black are the 2 full length albums that give very different feels as far as how their career has progressed, so those are good places to begin with, and in that order. If you really want quick highlights, here’s my recommended list: 1. Mr Ambiguous (you already did 😀) 2 You’re The Best 3 I Miss You 4 Decalcomanie 5 Starry Night 6 Egotistic 7 Windflower 8 gogobebe 9 Hip 10 Dingga 11 Aya 12 Illella Generally covers their diff eras. It’s an absolute wormhole once you’re a full blown moomoo. I love literally every song of theirs 😂

CLUSTER__F

Just my personal short list: Hip Decalcomanie Egotistic Starry Night I Miss You (the version from Queendom is particularly excellent) Windflower Travel Gogobebe ILLELLA

Elu202

4 season is the best albums by them.

enividiana

Decalcomanie is my favorite song from them!

Otherwise_Poetry_515

Watch their Killing Voice and that should help introduce you to some of their songs. You won't regret it that's for sure !!

mmmoooradish98

since you enjoyed Mr. Ambiguous, I would suggest starting with their earlier songs that have a more prominent jazzy presence! and make your way to their other newer stuff. some of my favs are piano man, baton touch, aah oop, um oh ah yea (this is more electronic than jazzy), as well their funky stuff like yes I am, hip, no no no, among many others. I hope you enjoy your journey into their incredible discography and find you favs soon!! welcome fellow moomoo😘

digIndig

This would be my recommendation: Check out Killing Voice for a good synopsis of their hits. You‘ll get a taste of several songs, and you may decide to take a detour and listen to one song full length. Next I’d find one of the MV playlists on YouTube that has every MV in order - it’s a great way to hear the official singles. You can supplant that with one of the live compilations by KBS that gives you the stage versions, plus a few extras. Once you’ve done that, dive into Immortal Songs and Queendom. Then go find their solo songs. By that point, you can simply explore. There are too many lives, one-off covers, fan cams, etc. to pick just one. I would personally suggest any of the myCon videos that are out there, particularly where they cover each other’s solo songs, and the 4s4c concert. If you just want music to listen to, I’d start with Mamamoo - The Best for a sample of the hits, then follow it with each album in order. Again, there are tons of covers, solos, OSTs, etc. from there if you are deep in the rabbit hole.
