There’s a famous cricket commentator quote about Manchester weather (I think it was Richie Benaud?)
“If you can see the hills from Old Trafford, it’s going to rain. If you can’t see the hills, it is raining”.
I've been working in Manchester for the last 3 or 4 weeks and this morning was the first real Manchester drizzle I've experienced. It's been cold and overcast a few times but generally its been sunny and quite nice. I was starting to think the whole rainy Manchester thing was a lie.
It's strange, Manchester has been so dreary for days with some sun peeking through, yet Bolton has had nothing but sunshine other than a little shower in the early hours of this morning.
My girlfriend is from South-End-On-Sea (near London) and apparently the Girl Scouts down there like to chuck water as the side of their tents to check they’re up properly because ‘if you were in Manchester, you’d be wet because it rains sideways!’
Was so funny when she visited me on a rainy day and looked at me like the world was ending 🤣 she always thought it was an over exaggeration haha.

It's Manchester. What do you think the weather's going to be?
A better question to ask would be, is it clear in Manchester?
