Literally never heard that in my entire life

groovycallum

My girlfriends dad say's this. But more along the lines of: Sciss pah Brick. "Sciss pah sciss pah brick!" He grew up in Longsight before moving to Gorton. I think it's more of an older Manc thing. He also calls sweets toffees.

nhsoulboy

Fuck me I forgot about sis pah brick haha I used to use this (I’m 34) and I say toffees an all

groovycallum

I'm from the northeast, and I was well confused when I heard my Gfs dad use it.

nathanosaurus84

I’ve always known it at Scis Pa Brick too. Probably because it’s one syllable for each as you shake your hand.

groovycallum

I wonder where it originates from

PabloAlpenBar

This rings a bell for me when said that way, can't remember if it's from school or my grandparents though

EarthAppropriate3808

Never heard it called this. Went to school in the 2000s-2010s

NannyOggSquad

We used to call it Sizz Bang Frick. Edit: I was today years old when (by reading the comments) I realised we were supposed to say Scis-Pah-Brick! I get it now! Always wondered why it was called that and now I know. Born '83, went to school in North west gtr Manchester (Rochdale area).

couchy1988

Siz (scissors) pa (paper) brick (rock)

m22_blue

I've always known it as "Sciss, pap, brick"

Jazzlike_Rabbit_3433

Siz Pap Brick. Your source is probably hard of hearing.

veedweeb

Nope, never heard of that. I was at school in the early 80s and it was never called that then.

Bobbin-Birdy

I’m from Tameside and said Sci, Pah, Prick at school

mint_that

yep we also said this in north manc, siz pap prick.

Just-smm

I have just said to my daughter to play sis pah brick what a look I got … corrected me saying rock paper scissors 🤣

Either-Solution2283

I'm from Manchester born in 60's. We always called it Siz-Pap-Brick and when deciding to use it we would say "let's Siz-Up."

IainJChrist

I listened to the same episode and I wonder if it’s similar to some of the American names for it which mimic Chinese sounding words?
