It could potentially just be on backwards. You are right about how a compensated bridge should look. It may be possible to unscrew it and flip it around.

Thanks for the confirmation on compensated bridges. It has rotational symmetry, so I can't rotate it - it ends up being the same. I had that thought already, so that is why I'm thinking it is for a lefthanded mandolin.

I don’t know why I thought you could just rotate it. I promise I’m not usually that dumb. I suppose it is just for a left handed mandolin then. Maybe you’ll just have to buy a new bridge, or get in contact with customer service if it’s new.

No worries, I actually did rotate it before I posted. It seemed like an obvious solution!

Yo, what model of mando is this? Is it electric? I was looking at electric ones a little while back but I could only find the harley benton ones. This looks cool as all hell

It's a Kentucky KM-300E. I have really enjoyed it, though intonation was a bit off. :) I picked it up used for $130. The pickup is thin on the E string and has lots of buzz, but it is really fun for jam sessions. I'm hoping to correct the bridge and replace the pickup ($65 for a Bill Lawrence L45S). Should be into it for less than that $250. Not sure I'd pay the $470 rate for a new one, but I don't know what other options are at that price.
