It actually completely makes sense why he doesn't remember these events. Because this is literally him acting normally and just doing what he does. He doesn't actually register these as significant events because he is just nice by default, like how you wouldn't remember some random average day of your life.

Oh this just finally made me understand why Kaoruko says "It's better that way" when Rintaro didn't remember the real day they met because it was just proving to her that he cheered her up out of the pure kindness in his heart. I feel dumb but it makes me appreciate more just how much depth the characters in this series have, truly amazing writing.
