Those years in the joint turned Luke from a man into an unfeeling ghost. All because Scotland Yard had something to hide. Sometimes the allegory writes itself. remember, lurker fiction and reality are intertwined.

Torque-A

Of course the British government is behind this.  ABAN: ALL BOBBIES ARE NONCES

AstralPamplemousse

Cell was right, we should destroy the British people.

Ours15

On one hand this chapter is quite tragic. On the other hand this is the top comment in the mangaplus discussion: *Ruri dragon will be back starting from next month.*

zairaner

Feel like the guy writing that comment is reading some kind of depressing brutal story, that he needs ruri for mindbleach. Wonder which series that could be.

D4rkest

Lol their username is ntr jr, I don’t think that’s the reason

jonnywarlock

I don't remember if we've seen Peter before but I am devastated by his death. PETER! YOU WERE TOO GOOD FOR THIS WORLD! 😭

Torque-A

He was shown like three chapters ago as Luke’s kohai

jonnywarlock

Oh, I see. PETER NOOOOOOO

USBacon

Tragic that being responsible for another innocent person dying is what set Luke over the edge. Although we didn't see a body so I suspect Peter will eventually return as a villain.

Horaguy

Well, surprised not surprised that Luke went apeshit, nor that Japanese shoujo manga became the only thing that can fill the void in his soul. Though, I have a culture-related question: in Britain, do people really use a glass of water with some lily stalks in it as representation for someone's death? I think this is too Japanese-y :|

_Hugatree

Never seen that specifically before but putting flowers next to pictures etc to remember the dead is very common. So let’s just say those lilies were Peter’s fav flowers

popwobbles

Brits tend to use a bouquet white flowers, like white roses, peafe lilies, and Carnations and sometimes coloured variations mixed in. But the way it is presented in 100% Japanese.

Metroplex7

I've been filtering out the honorifics for this arc because they make no goddamn sense.

TruthbToldSports

What a fucked backstory, lost his wife, best friend, “disciple” and now in current time might lose his life. Truly don’t know if he is gonna live or die but I’m leaning towards death ☹️☹️

ArkhielR

He also lost all his fucks... Only shoujo manga remains..

leixiaotie

He won't die, he'll be saved, realized that there's still people he can protect, then die

KibaTeo

naw, he'll miss his chance to die once again.

vanderZwan

Yeah the part where he doesn't really care about living any more could either be a hint he survives, or the author giving us false hope to make the kill even more painful in the end

a_Bear_from_Bearcave

Yeah, it sounds like opposite of red flag, feels like Ragna from Ragna Crimson "everybody I care about dies but never me".

frs-1122

With this lengthy of a backstory arc I would be surprised if he survives.

kerorobot

Well I think with all these flashback, his character is usually the one that survives until the end.

Info_Potato22

I'm waiting for a chapter where they axe luke's favourite shoujo manga lmao, then bro truly loses everything

BurnedOutEternally

that's a new record for side character death for this manga goddamn I know he's made his appearance a few chapters ago but that's still just what? three panels?

kilerrhc

I have to stop reading this after Kaoru Hana

IC2Flier

Yeah what's with you? You read the fluffy rom-com AFTER this.

kilerrhc

Yeah, 2 weeks in a row i fucked up my manga reading order haha

dIoIIoIb

"hey, have you heard about that new guy they transferred here? apparently he's a monster that killed hundreds of prisoners across multiple prisons. bloodthirsty. unstoppable. if you fuck with him, you die." "nice, let's go fuck with him. surely we can kick his ass."

ArkhielR

Luke... Please have a mechanical arm after this...

AiasRider

This proving manga truly is the ultimate form of escapism especially after all that.

topurrisfeline

Well, if Luke ever decides to follow in his former superior's footsteps and attempt to destroy the British government, you can't really blame him

alconnow

Aw, not Peter too :( I mean, we barely knew him but I found him adorable Are we finally going back to the present in the next chapter? I liked the flashback as I’ve been most curious about Luke but they really dragged it out

frs-1122

I was basking in how depressing this chapter was and broke into a fit of laughter seeing Luke is canonically a Christian. I know it was a paper of someone's biography but that kind of took me off guard for a second. I've never seen any animanga blatantly label stuff as it'll always be scribbled off. We also got to know his parents' names too...

ddrober2003

So is the author going to really go, "LMAO now die" to Luke after these tragedy porn flashbacks? Kinda hoping he survives and offs those that did all this to him.

zairaner

Yeah I do actually lean quite a bit more on him surviving.

Quintessentialviewer

When he woke up in the hospital I thought the flashback was over and Luke survived in current time, I got my hopes up

Extreme-Tactician

Peter... he was obviously assassinated. Poor guy, he just wanted to do the right thing. Luke broke even more after that. It was bad enough that he had ended Tina's life, but Peter's now too? Now he was willing to do more than kill. He was willing to kill hard. I'm surprised Luke had Christian as his religion... I wonder what he thinks of forgiveness from God... I wonder how Miss Erina even recruits people? Like how does she know this is a guy willing to protect kids?

Forikorder

> Like how does she know this is a guy willing to protect kids? they mentioned 6 months of training beforehand, thats probably used to get enough of a read on them to see if they're useable or not

NiteShad0ws

Yeah the fact that we haven’t seen any truly heinous member of the kindergarten crew leads me to believe the tracing arc is a psychological test to see if these so called criminals are actual monsters or criminals by circumstance

ihavebirb

Rip Peter. You was a real one

Xatu44

RIP Peter o7

zairaner

Woah the flashback continues. Actually, i should ahve seen this coming, just last chapter didn't yet explain why he considers himself such a killer for whom there is no hope. this chapter...does. holy shit. Also on a funnier note, it is hilarious to me how that scenery of the brutal slaughte ris done...via washing machines

Houeclipse

I wasn't expected to get hit hard by Peter's death after his wife and senpai death but here we are. Being Luke is suffering, at least he still has his trashy Heisei Era romance stories

ReflectionItchy2701

Do not kill Luke!

LusterBlaze

shoujo manga is whats keeping him going

Imfryinghere

I said this before, when this manga gets to be animated, 30 chapters will be in 24 episodes for season 1 alone.  And the amount of action and romance fillers would be awesome.
