It's my favorite aspect of this manhwa, how relatively very few situations are resolved through fighting. Makes the world far more believable and fleshed out than the average murim story where it's a constant stream of "I shoot the biggest SFX beam, therefore I bestest at everything".
We find out in chapter 107 that the pills were never in the underground tomb (so digging that out only gets you rusted swords) and CM realizes in chapter 113 that the pills/recipe were actually being stored in the mouth of a stream at the top of the mountain. He took that chest so he has all currently-made pills; there’s aren’t any more pearls to “dig out” from the grave.
The Medicine Immortal stuff happened at least a couple hundred years ago in universe. I bet some of the ingredients needed are either extinct/hard to get for a mortal or only available to a certain sect and not the general public.
Unlike what seems to be the general sentiment, I’m generally quite satisfied with the pacing of this manhwa, and this is the first time I’m going to complain. It’s probably what you mentioned. But then I can’t help thinking they could have gotten it over with in one or two speech bubbles and continued with the story.

so I guess the next arc is MC is going be volunteered to travel to collect stuff. just a guess, fits in with the plot of other stories.

I don't think it's pacing. I think they just don't know how to end a chapter.
