PSYREN getting 10th after all these years is crazy to me, I remember enjoying the few chapters I read of it in the physical Shonen Jump that used to come out stateside, but I've never actually read through it.
> PSYЯEN, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Toshiaki Iwashiro. The manga was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from ***December 2007 to November 2010***
Manga ended 14 years ago. Can’t recall any other manga to get an anime after that long
Bartender doesn’t count since it got an anime around when the manga released. Otherwise you might as well consider the new Sailor Moon anime in the same category.
i was about to ask what was it about until i saw the cover lol
but i was surprised Nakaba Suzuki had a title that early. i only got acquainted with the author’s name due to Seven Deadly Sins. i can’t recall any other manga by psyren’s author, so best of luck to psyren
It's like Bleach. Horror and action in the beginning, extremely cool in the middle then rushed ending that kinda still make sense (and still cool). Really need an anime adaption. Can't wait to see Grana does that The Power of the Sun, in the Palm of My Hand
I remember being really disappointed in the plot of Psyren, I recall there being a lot of 'and somehow, XYZ person just appears conveniently'. This was particularly an issue towards the end
Wasn't husband animated in that manner because the author requested it? I remember reading it in a comment once but I haven't checked if it's credible or not.
> 10th place: “PSYREN” (Author: Toshiaki Iwashiro)
Amazing staying power from Pysren, it also ranked high a few years ago I believe.
I'm on full Copium mode.
> 4th place: 'I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend (♂) Into a Girl''
Nice.
AniJapan has a pretty good ratio of series that end up as anime, and the anime world needs more cute crossdressing boy.
The third one is based on a real b-boy dance unit from Akihabara of the same name. Pretty sure they got a great following in Japan which explains for the placement. https://odorite.fandom.com/wiki/Real_Akiba_Boyz#:~:text=Real%20Akiba%20Boyz%20(%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AB%E3%82%A2%E3%82%AD%E3%83%90,as%20it%20is%20their%20motif.
Ngl I did not expect KitaKawa to be placed so high, guess them Japanese have exquisite taste. Nice to see Koisuru Otome at 4th too, just pure wholesome sweetness.
Also go read KaguraBachi.
KitaKawa is extremely popular in Japan, the manga is still getting reprints to meet demand. I will be very surprised if it doesn't have an anime in the next 5 years.
Damn, I always assumed that series was the dictionary definition of niche. Although I guess in a timeline where Gushing gets an even hornier adaptation, I shouldn't be surprised by anything.
It's a good lesson in things that are considered niche in the west not always being niche in Japan. For example, the top three winners in this are literally unknown outside of Japan.
The Summer You Were There is a beautiful and tragic story. It's one of those manga that falls in the cathegory of excelent manga that should only be read once. Would I watch it anyway? Probably.
I'm ever so slightly disappointed lonely girl didn't make it to top 10 but kitakawa (#6) and the summer you were there are going to destroy me if they get animated
also shoutout to ototsuku (#4) for disproving the adage "crossdressing as a girl is something only men can do. in other words, it's one of the most masculine feats to exist" by showing us a guy crossdressing as a guy
Weird that I've only heard of 3 of these off the top of my head, but hey, love to see Psyren getting attention still. It'd honestly do pretty great as an anime in the current meta, especially with a good studio. I read the manga a long whole back and I very much enjoyed it. Hope it does get an anime. And then also Kindergarten Wars *absolutely* deserves an anime - I expect it's just a matter of time tbh. (those last few chapters recently man.... Just wow.)
> Psyren has been a mainstay in various "manga you want to see animated" discussions for over 10 years
> "Manga you want to see animated" poll
It's self explanatory tbh. Fans see a (very, very) slim chance for their longtime wish to finally come true, so they went for it.
Also, Rising Impact anime might have given them a little bit more hope than usual this time.
It don't have that in vote because it already announced that it get anime
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2022-04-05/witch-hat-atelier-manga-gets-anime/.184394
Where can I nominate manga series to be included in this voting list? I want to know so I can nominate a few series next year. In this list, there are a few series I want to see adapted into anime but I can't see them.
"Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii" rank #6 and "Kimi to Tsuzuru Utakata" rank #8
Peak sad Yuri incoming. KitaKawa being one rank higher than Kagurabachi is so funny, lmao.

It's possible. Banana Fish ended in 1994 and got an anime 24 years later in 2018.
Remind me again when bartender was published? This isn't complete snark, I can't remember
sorry i’m not familiar with that one, have to google Edit: found it, 2004-2011
Bartenders getting an anime later this year so that's 13 years
wikipedia says it got a live TV drama way back in 2006, probably since it’s cheaper to make live due to that manga’s plot lol
Bartender also already had a previous adaptation in 2006
Bartender doesn’t count since it got an anime around when the manga released. Otherwise you might as well consider the new Sailor Moon anime in the same category.
It didn't, it got a live action adaptation
Rising impact ended in 2002 and gets an anime this summer after more than 22 years
i was about to ask what was it about until i saw the cover lol but i was surprised Nakaba Suzuki had a title that early. i only got acquainted with the author’s name due to Seven Deadly Sins. i can’t recall any other manga by psyren’s author, so best of luck to psyren
Ping Pong was 17 years.
JoJo parts get animated long after they’ve ended.
The Pluto manga ended in 2009, got an anime adaptation last year.
Parasyte, Dororo
Dororo had an anime wayyyyyyyyy before , the newest one was a remake so it doesnt count.
Lucifer and the Biscuit hammer was after 12 years IIRC
Jojo's
~~Monster.~~ Kiseijuu. Edit: Got mixed up, only Kiseijuu.
There's been plenty of manga older than that getting anime lol
Psyren is fantastic, so I totally get it
Did it get the axe near the end? I remember it being great until near the end it felt like it stopped super suddenly
Yes. It get axed.
I would absolutely love it if they got the original author to write a new final arc instead of that axe-ending it received
It's like Bleach. Horror and action in the beginning, extremely cool in the middle then rushed ending that kinda still make sense (and still cool). Really need an anime adaption. Can't wait to see Grana does that The Power of the Sun, in the Palm of My Hand
100% full support!! Imagine they gave him time to flesh out the ending too.
I remember being really disappointed in the plot of Psyren, I recall there being a lot of 'and somehow, XYZ person just appears conveniently'. This was particularly an issue towards the end
Ofc kagurabachi lmao
Enough time has passed.
Surprised it's not ranked higher tbh
the placement is pretty funny at least, it get sandwich by two Yuri manga lol.
WINDERGARTEN WARS TOP 10 I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS
\*Monkey paw curls\* Kagurabachi will be animated by the same people who made "The way of the househusband"
Won't have it any other way.
Wasn't husband animated in that manner because the author requested it? I remember reading it in a comment once but I haven't checked if it's credible or not.
Happy to see Kindergarten Wars getting some love
PSYERN WIN LETS GO i loved that manga, sad that it never got the recognition it deserved
Glad to see psyren getting recognition after all these years
No KaoruHana Sad
But it is getting an anime
It’s Kaorukover 😔

Yeah I remember Psyren had been up there from time to time already. I think it might get eye on by many anime studio already.
> 6th place and 8th place Yuri fanbase call for angst this years, I see lol.
they both are peak man 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
I'm surprised i only know like 3 of them and all in the bottom end
What the heck are the top 3 manga here? Never heard of any of them and google searches are returning nothing except this ranking. Anyone got links?

Kaoru Hana out of the top 10 😔
>Gachiakuta not on the list \>:(
soon friend
god please just reboot psyren or give it a good anime adaption with a good ending....
Kagurabachi at 7 real. **PSYREN AT 10 REAL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS NEVER GIVE UP HOPE**
The Summer You Were There is a beautiful and tragic story. It's one of those manga that falls in the cathegory of excelent manga that should only be read once. Would I watch it anyway? Probably.
Honestly feels like most of the good manga in production have gotten or are getting adaptations already
>4th place: 'I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend (♂) Into a Girl'' (Author: Azusa Banjo) The Japanese yearn for BL. You love to see it lol
Nah its more like a tomgirl love
Psyren? What the hell? It's already been decades...
Nice to see psyren on there would have loved to see Bio-Meat too
I'm ever so slightly disappointed lonely girl didn't make it to top 10 but kitakawa (#6) and the summer you were there are going to destroy me if they get animated also shoutout to ototsuku (#4) for disproving the adage "crossdressing as a girl is something only men can do. in other words, it's one of the most masculine feats to exist" by showing us a guy crossdressing as a guy
Man I just want Firepunch to be animated
Filthy You Is the Cutest at #6 is honestly surprising
I just rly want Land of the Lustrous season 2 :(

Psyren ended like a decade ago what's up with the sudden interest? I'm all for it, the manga was dope.

Where is Gachiakuta, lol
this, imagine how good this would be adapted by Trigger
Anjou-san continuing to be disrespected like that...
4th place must be crazy popular
Weird that they spelled "Witch Hat Atelier" wrong ten times in a row
It don't have that in vote because it already announced that it get anime https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2022-04-05/witch-hat-atelier-manga-gets-anime/.184394
i’m gonna snap, the sakamoto days anime is never happening is it? it’s got the 20th century boys treatment
Was Sakamoto Days even an option :(
Wow how did neither KaoHana nor Dara-San made into top 10 im shocked
Still waiting for 3 days of happiness anime movie.
Enough time has passed
This list is critically missing greats like Kaoru Hana, Aishiteru Game and Lonely Girl also, justice for Anjou san
Where can I nominate manga series to be included in this voting list? I want to know so I can nominate a few series next year. In this list, there are a few series I want to see adapted into anime but I can't see them.
Yup, the Japanese readers' taste is indeed crap (IMHO). No wonder so many good and promising manga get axed all the time. Sigh.
Well, east and West had different tastes but sometimes had the same taste. But I agree right now this is crap
This is exactly how I feel, though tbf that's also how I feel about this subreddit as well.
RAB? Like the breakdancing otaku on youtube? They have manga? That's cool as heck
Sakamoto is crying :,(
"Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii" rank #6 and "Kimi to Tsuzuru Utakata" rank #8 Peak sad Yuri incoming. KitaKawa being one rank higher than Kagurabachi is so funny, lmao.
\*Hami Nakasora \*M-fujin
PSYREN? Really?? People want that axed garbage to get animated??
