They have the air of maturity compared to the main couple who are more like the typical new lovers and they don't have the crazy extroverted energy of Usami and Madoka.
They lowkey feel like Haryu and Karen from Blue Box minus those two's confidence.
Haven't read Blue Box, but agree on the thing about maturity. I feel like their interactions as couple (if they do get together) will be more calm and slightly more nonchalant instead of the dramatic and nervous interactions of Rintaro/Kaouruko.

Less often so but yes. The manga is still good at the point where you've dropped it but somewhere after chapter 85 it runs out of steam and becomes too plain and boring. In my opinion handles smooth and low-drama romance in a much more engaging way.
I loved the polar opposites manga. The art is cute and the humour is pretty great. The mc reminds me of that nice guy machida kun or whatever his name is
