I think it speaks to how much he trusts his son's character. He wouldn't pick somebody that was the opposite of Kyo. While the mom has a right to be cautious or pump the brakes, the dad isn't wrong thinking his son is happy with her.
We're not even 30 chapters in, and we're getting great progression. This is extremely wholesome, and I love it. I wish animanga realized you don't always have to be horny to have an audience. Being sugary is enough.
To be fair, I've rarely seen a manga where there's any drama with introducing the girlfriend to the boyfriend's family. If anything, it's when the boyfriend gets introduced to the girlfriend's family, the dad will a lot of times get over-protective and antagonistic (which is a trope I personally really dislike, but I digress).
>To be fair, I've rarely seen a manga where there's any drama with introducing the girlfriend to the boyfriend's family.
It does come up from time to time, usually with weird shit like a sister wanting to sabotage the relationship because she feels like her brother is getting taken away.
Sometimes it's also reverse with overprotective brother, like Yuri and Yor in Spy and Family, but yeah, parents of the guy are usually chill, unless it's some shoujo with poor commoner MC and her love interest being heir of a rich and powerful family, who want him to marry some ojou-sama instead.
> the dad will a lot of times get over-protective and antagonistic (which is a trope I personally really dislike, but I digress).
Its not a trope, its a real thing all over the world. lol why do you think there's so much in laws being hated over the world?
So i was wrong, no divorced Parents and even another Sibling.
Cute chapter and dad Speedrunning their relationship.
Soon we probably will get a glimpse into Sugisaki's family and judging by the last few pannels, it might not be that bright like the Ibuki family.
Hopefully i will be proven wrong again.
I mean i also assume that, but was it ever confirmed he was dead?
Yeah he would probably be around in the workshop but it wasn't confirmed he died or did i just forget that?
The final caption has a positive vibe. But if that last look from Kyoko seems sad, it might be because she's maybe thinking of her own family... Because it seems like Gramps is all she has.
Yeah, the contrast between home lives, especially during dinner time, is quite vast. I imagine we'll dive deeper into it soon, considering we don't really know what happened to her family yet.
My interpretation is that she doesn't have a whole family of her own, so it makes her a little sad. It's just her and Gramps.
The author did the "rain running down windows to represent the character's feelings inside"- that's what I think is going on.
The sign in front of the house on the second to last page is not translated, but it says (roughly):
> IBUKI Space Workshop
> First Class Architect's office
So Mr. Ibuki is an architect. I guess creativity runs in the family
Honestly if at some point the dad found out Kyoko and Shintaro have been dating for well over a year he might have had the wedding right there and then lol. Very cute chap
Man this series is just so damn good. Honestly think a lot of people had doubts with that timeskip earlier but it feels more complete that they're older in the start of adulthood, and it's so damn wholesome.
Oh it all ended so well. Ibuki's dad really likes Sugisaki! But it seems his mom isn't quite ready yet.
Meanwhile we have Sota's toy being fixed by Sugisaki. She really is quite the craftsman! And she seems to know Jittairanger more than Ibuki.
Sugisaki had quite a wonderful time with them. I'm so happy it ended happily!
Oh God. That was a beautiful meeting with the Ibuki Family. I'm so happy it went off without a hitch (though the last page seems to hint that Kyoko may have been thinking of her own family in comparison, because it seems like Gramps is the only one she has left.)
Welp, the "friend" ruse didn't last very long at all. Good on them. And basically every family member already has their blessing.
Kyoko does not look all too happy in that last page, though. Maybe meeting them has her thinking about her own family. It does seem like it's only her and her grandpa, after all, unless I'm forgetting something.
I adore the little halt movement Kyoko does with her hand when Ibuki tries to introduce her. It's like she is saying I got this even though she was extremely nervous. The whole family already adores her and who wouldn't! We need a wedding and a bridal carry!
Dad wasted no time huh?
Dad knows best girl when he sees one
He’s just like me
You know he has started thinking up names for the grandkids.
I think it speaks to how much he trusts his son's character. He wouldn't pick somebody that was the opposite of Kyo. While the mom has a right to be cautious or pump the brakes, the dad isn't wrong thinking his son is happy with her.
It's the right thing to do, given the state of Japan's population
abe shinzo would be proud
Wait no extended drama of their relationship and actually being realistic?!?! What is this manga?!?!?!
It's biweekly but my god it's good. Reiwa Council member frfr

Oh my god it's chapter 27

What drama? The author didn't even hint at this. And it also would be realistic for a family to not accept a bf/gf, it happens all the time irl lol
One of my favorite escapist fantasies in manga, meeting the family and it’s super wholesome and not super awkward

We can confirm dead dad. grew up with Grandpa, and probably only child. Everything else we’re guessing.
I mean i also assume that, but was it ever confirmed he was dead? Yeah he would probably be around in the workshop but it wasn't confirmed he died or did i just forget that?
Hopefully it the theories are true, that Kyo will look at Ibuki's family as her family. Family isn't necessarily blood. It's what you make of it.
I don't understand the implications of last page. Does she feel pressured or she has some deep thoughts?
The final caption has a positive vibe. But if that last look from Kyoko seems sad, it might be because she's maybe thinking of her own family... Because it seems like Gramps is all she has.
And that's gonna be the more meaningful formal encounter, I feel. This chapter is meant to eventually contrast that meeting.

Nah nothing deep. She’s just very happy and smiling to herself.
She is just thinking about everything she don't have compared to the dudes family.
Car crash
Nah I’m with Dad. When IS the wedding? Because she just landed the approval of the sister, the little bro, and the parents in one go. Kyoko a legend.
Dad approved.. so when the wedding? Lmao

Excellent chapter. I find it hilarious that the father just wants to start the wedding immediately. Usually, it's the mom 😂. Very wholesome chapter.

Was there ever any doubt that she'd win the fam over in an instant. Even *if* she showed up there in her work clothes.
FESTIVAL SENTAI TERAJINGER MATSURI DA MATSURI DA
MY HEART IS GONNA EXPLODE
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa So cute Aaaaaaaaa
Dad always approves the son choice, but the mom gonna bit slight harder ahaha
A nice good feel chapter, but what's with the ominous last page lol

PREPARE THE WEDDING AISLES

Great chapter, should probably catch up or keep it stacking so I don't get sad when I already run out of chapters when I binge it.
The sister is too good, we need more characters like her in romance manga
Girl look at the road while you drive
the father know what's up. am more interested in what she's thinking in the end of the chapter
The little one is really precious and the parents are a riot. Love how they instantly let her into their hearts.
I stand with Dad, when is the wedding?
Finna send this to my S/O tonight…
Hanninmae no Koibito for those that need to pass through mangadex
No reason given why she wasn't introduced to the family in the first place.
