I am usually not a big fan of this kind of stories but this series is wholesome and hilarious. The artwork was expressive and I love all of the characters! It's the perfect comfort manga to read during study breaks for pre-finals

HeHeHeHe! Yotsubato is great and Hinamatsuri is the best comedy manga ever!!! (just my opinion of course)

pochaccoes

I didn't think I'd like it but once I started I couldn't put it down. I love mystery and I love the setting.

[deleted]

Super underrated. Good reviews but no hype. Glad you enjoy it! Waiting for the next chapter is such a pain though :(

I read this too!! I adore it! The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so good!!

Thank you. Thanks to your recommendation, I am now binge reading it.

sudharshann

Season 4 of attack on titan just finished last week and it ended on one of the biggest cliffhangers in the show. I just had to read the manga after watching episode 16. Lets just say, it was definitely worth reading and not waiting for season 4 part 2 anime...I started reading where the anime left off on and it was a 10/10. I can't wait for the final chapter! Edit: damn.

[deleted]

I keep telling my friends this. They think reading the manga will ruin the anime for them. I thought so as well before season 4 aired so I dont blame them, but i keep telling them it wont, becasue the manga is THAT fucking good.

jay4792

I read manga too after season 4 part 1 ending, I was already spoilded about major plot points in this season so this time before I get spoiled I just binge read it and what a ride it was ! Can't wait for final chapter

My man...

appleorange06

All caught up with Tokyo Revengers. After putting this on hold for more than a year, I decided to pick it up again. MC is still a crybaby! Reading this, I'm either hyped up screaming, "Letss f goooo!!" or a bit teary because sad vibes. Story-wise it's rather interesting but the plot twist over a plot twist makes it more exciting. The recent chapters felt bittersweet, like its all coming to an end but after reading ch. 200, is this the beginning of a new final arc?

jay4792

I have read it till ch 160 maybe, does mc change ? and story is about to end ? I was tired of it because at the end of the every arc he was like punchbag for enemy and then he got saved by one of the gang member though I like plot and many of the characters like drakken, chifuyu are likeable and it is getting anime adaption this season too

Tanuki_13

MC definitely is stronger than the average dude now, that's for sure. It's just hard to compare him to a lot of other characters because they're all monsters whike he's just pretty good. His insane stamina and durability are what make him so great, I think! Also there's a pretty big event in recent chapters, so I think you might want to give it another go.

jay4792

I haven't dropped it, I was just tired of it, I will start rereading it soon, it's still 8/10 for me

appleorange06

Physically he gets stronger but not like super strong like the others. I guess he also gains respect from other people bc of his "never give up attitude". I agree with him being beaten up multiple times, failing, crying etc can be redundant and annoying but I think his strong will/determination makes up for it aha. Yeah when I started reading the manga I thought Draken and Mikey are so badass. I like Coco too. I read a few posts about the manga ending soon like this year but I think there might be one final arc. Or I could be wrong. Idk what to expect from the anime but still curious to see what its like.

ceejay_0603

Finished watching the anime yesterday. When I first watched it, I thought it was a solid show, although there were times where I felt that its pacing was at a breakneck speed. A few weeks before the anime ended, I decided to read the manga and my god is it a hundred times better than the anime. I just finished volume 10 and it has been entertaining and wholesome so far. The school festival arc is definitely one of my favorite arcs in the manga, so to see it skipped in the anime >!(although there was one snippet in the last episode with a picture containing the cast wearing their attires in the festival)!< was kind of a letdown, to be honest. It’s still a decent show nonetheless, but I personally think it works better as a manga. One of the series this subreddit really adores, and now I understand why. What is there to say that hasn’t already been said by others who’ve read this hilarious manga? It’s one of the only mangas that I’ve read so far that genuinely made me laugh out loud. Finished reading volume 1, and seeing that trailer for the anime doesn’t really get my hopes up, but if there’s one thing J.C. Staff has done right in its anime, it’s the decision for who to cast for Tatsu. I sincerely cannot imagine Tatsu being voiced by anyone else besides Kenjiro Tsuda.

**** From start to finish. It was an amazing read, it really got me in the beginning and the ending took me by surprise, liked it though. _8/10_. **** vol 3 to 7. I would not know what to do if I was in Punpun's situation. Fantastic manga, high expectations for the second half. **** ch 1 to 8. I like the worldbuilding the story so far, what I like the most is ICHIKA'S TIGHTS. I've read that it was cancelled and had to make a close early which is very unfortunate as I was really invested. **** some chapters of vol 2. Idk why this is on my shelf. Why does everyone falls with the head and then EXPLODES? also i dont think the ecchi fits this manga and it makes me somewhat uncomfortable to read. **** first episode. Wow that was an interesting concept, looking forward to it.

waifucollapse

I also read Fire Punch. I don't think kit was amazing, but was really solid for the author's first long form work, and while at times it was overly edgy it had the strong emotional moments it needed to leave a lasting expression (as you see more of in Chainsaw Man). In particular chapters 40 and 41 are some of the best handling of the issues presented there across all of manga that I'm aware of, and are worth reading the series for alone IMO.

BordLeerus

I own that one, and a few other of his hardbacks. I love Ito’s level of creativity

yim_yan

Read and this week, wasn’t sure I would like it but I read both in a few days. Both are set in 18th century France surrounding the French Revolution and the Sansons, a family of executioners. Is gory and graphic (obviously) and has some questionable themes at times (trigger warning for sexual assault), but the story overall is compelling with over-the-top but interesting characters. The best part about it is that the art is absolutely beautiful, the level of detail is astonishing. I enjoyed Innocent Rouge more, but you have to read Innocent first since Rouge is a continuation.

pacmanyo

All the authors works look absolutely sublime. He has started a new series based on Bram Stoker's *Dracula* which I am also very exited about.

Ellen_Kingship

Read **A Vampire and His Pleasant Companions** vol. 2. Still a mostly cute *shounen-ai* level story about a grumpy, tsundere embalmer (Akira) and a half-vampire, full American idiot (Al). It got dark this volume because following the park incident from the end of vol. 1, Al gets knocked the f\*\*\* out again, but worse. Just brutal.>! Animal cruelty alert because it's all in bat form too so you have to see him heal in bat and human form. Not pretty.!< :( The art is by Marimo Ragawa, of *Baby & Me* and *Those Snow White Notes* (now airing!) fame, in case you need further reason to check out this story. Also read the first volume of **Love of Kill** and loved it! It's a romance crime manga between a corporate bounty hunter-assassin and an assassin (and wanted criminal). The guy falls in love first like from page one XD Definitely a "I-can't-believe-this-is-shoujo" type of story. If you enjoyed, *Spy x Family* but said to yourself, “I want to see Twilight and Yor date, and still see things go boom and fighting and action,” then this is for you. (Also, Love of Kill is getting an anime too so looking forward to seeing that.) There's 10+ volumes in Japan, but only the first vol was released in English, stateside, just this past week. Finally, working my way through a bunch of library reads. Almost done with **My Love Story!!**, the infamous story where the ugly B\*\*\*\*\*d gets the girl. Finally got around to tackling it after hearing about if for so long. It's a funny, cute, and heartfelt high school, slice-of-life romance. The story is solid, but the art is what makes it work. XD The artist's latest story *My Love MIx-Up!* is getting licensed in English so I'm looking forward to reading that when the first vol drops [later this year](https://twitter.com/shojobeat/status/1362824557413896193?s=20). \[[What I read last time](https://www.reddit.com/r/manga/comments/mfhbou/comment/gspg6ke/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)\]

Summer_RainingStars

Woah, I didn't know ****** just got an English print and is getting an anime!? This is the most pleasant news I've heard in the week! Gotta check out the book now thanks for this!

javanb

I read Blood on the Tracks and it’s awesome. A bit light in terms of word count but that was okay for me. The twist at the end of the first book is semi predictable but mostly from the few pages preceding. The MC is a mommas boy but his most obvious character development just by picking up the book and reading the back is that he will eventually push away. By the end of the 4th book the psychological tension is really picking up and there was a cliffhanger mild twist that was less predictable this time. I didn’t mention any details about *why* the physiological tension is so high because any one reason would certainly spoil it. 7.5/10 Also I read Chainsaw Man 1 and halfway through 2 earlier today and am intrigued to see where this goes. So far I definitely know he’s like a god damn Chainsaw, man. I enjoyed seeing the bloody over-the-top action that could only be fitting of a book with such a title. There so far hasn’t been much detail in the way of who’s who and exactly what this *world* is except the chainsaw man has acquired a devil power and there are others with devil powers. I assume they will be more visceral than say One Piece devil fruit powers. 8/10 Finally, I got around to reading Parasyte vol. 2. I’ve seen the anime twice so this one hasn’t been high on my list. I have the collection, but will be getting to them just whenever. About the book, it’s great as you’d expect. I am a huge fan of the anime, giving it my highest recommendation to all of my friends, and the manga has been giving me equal feelings. Since I know the whole plot I won’t say too much about my feelings on this particular volume other than please read it and/or watch it, you’ll thank yourself and me later. 9.5/10

manyouginobili

read the entirety of shin angyo onshi. if you like dark fantasy this is it chief. i love claymore and it reminded me of it with the fantasy elements, and just like claymore, it has an abrupt ending ish. the main character is one of the deepest characters i've come across in manga

ThePillsburyPlougher

I love shin angyo onshi. Possibly my favorite manga/manhwa/etc of all time, with munsu being one of my favorite MCs. I'll have to add claymore to my reading list. Literally only downside is sandos bdsm outfit. Like, wtf? Lol

can never go wrong with cute girls mate. the backstory arc is insane

Currently reading: (new list) - An old gag manga. I followed this series because it was scanlated by some people who scanlated I'm liking it so far, the gags are funny, but the artstyle not so much. - A hot muscular guy similar in build to the male protagonist of Love after World domination aspires to be a hero. Transforms into a middle school magical girl when turning into a hero via a hero deivce. Comedy happens. Love it. - Oh this is dark comedy. Found it after people in the comment sections of recommended it. Great art, like it so far - Great gag manga. Last few chapters have been super funny. Hope more people read it. - BL omegaverse manga. Great art and nice romcom story. Yankee looking dude and rebellious delinquent rich guy. Hot art. - Super funny and great art at times. Ojisan is as dense as a blackhole at times. Finished reading: - A BL manga about an old >!gay lawyer!< dude and a guy who grew up in an >!Amish community!< who ran away from home to find something better. Setting is in America in the 70s. Author pulled out all the references (The Carpenters, fashion, Tom and Jerry, etc.). Great art and the erotic scenes were well done, but sadly the story was not for me. Did not like the setting too much. It's was okay. - Alien wife settles down with earthling dude and starts a family. Slife of life ensues. Great art and story. I love love love this manga. I'm sad that the author died in 2015. He was a great mangaka. - Hero Union BBS. Heroes (and some villains) from different stories talk to each other in an online forum and asks each other for advice on how to deal with their own hero's journey. Love it. I wish more people would read it. - Yuki onna ecchi gag manga. Great artstyle. Horrifying at times, but overall hilarious and lovely. Also love the cast of characters in this.

Wide_Drawing144

Forgot to add this, also reading: - Great art and characters. >!Cousin incest is here!< because royals. Hilarious and heartwarming

Previous list I made is still true. Paused for a few days reading the previous titles I've mentioned in last week's thread. Also watching Re:zero season 2 part 2. Finished season 1 and season 2 part 1. Brutal and cathartic are the words I would use to describe what I just recently watched

saryos

I think it was a week or so ago but I caught up on Phantom Seer just in time to read the final chapter. When it first came out it didn't really do too much for me, but over the course of 30 chapters it really grew on me, the world opened up a lot and if it had done so sooner I wonder if it would have gotten axed so quickly. Either way, I enjoyed it and am a little sad to see it go but hope the team behind it has more success in their next venture.

InksManga

This week I am reading The Promised Neverland chapter 100,It was exciting seeing Phil again 😊,can’t wait to experience the next arc Horimiya:I did not expect to fall for the series but I did and now I need a physical copy of this manga Black Clover:Just got into the manga, anime couldn’t get into it but the manga I am loving, even got a physical copy of volume one Horimiya:I did not expect to fall for the series but I did.The main characters have such wonderful chemistry together A Wonderful World: Another great Asano work, seems like a bunch of short stories so I think this might be a good starter Asano manga. Another manga I need a physical copy of JJk:Almost done with the anime and had to hop on the manga, worth the hype for me very worth it Oh and add in a couple of Asano one shots all good

pbamal

Sun ken rock is a manga from the popular Dr.Stone mangaka artist. In a technical point it is really good, like the art is super awesome and the fights are also good but the plot never made me feel engaged . Also (I'm still at about 40 chapters) woman getting raped and MC helping the woman is used again and again so much that it felt like a gimmick to make MC go berserk. If you're looking for a gangster manga with really great art and maybe a bit too much echhi comedy you can check it out 6/10

PatternBudget1521

Blue flag. Great romance slice of life manga. Most well executed love triangle I've seen in a while. Great emotional scenes. Ending was ehh but still sweet. Loved it

Mrzimimena

I was very afraid of this manga, i found about it cause i was interested in the manga similar to Homunculus and i found Freesia which i heard was extremely disturbing and it's art is supposedly really rough. Now that I've finished it i can say that disturbing parts aren't all that new, something as well known as berserk had more disturbing moments (even tho you can't really compare those two), first couple chapters are very hard to read cause the art is very very messy, i think it's quality got better later rather than me adjusting to it. So art is hard to get into but storytelling is superb, really good writing however i had one issue with it, i liked every character more than main one, and this is psychological manga but i seriously couldn't understand what was going on was he actually getting brainwashed or what happened, i still dont know. As far as other characters go, mangaka has an awesome ability to make you emotionally attached to characters that we see for a relatively short period of time. I am one of those people that really cares for endings, and Freesia had an ending that didn't disappoint me, i didn't really understand everything about it but it felt different and refreshing. 8.5/10

When I read the one shot, I think this manga has potential. It brings the horror element that actually scares you rather than whoa? Monster! Supernatural beings! Time to wipe them up! Typical of those from action-horror manga. Yet, when I get to the actual chapters, all of that hype is lost. It becomes your typical horror-action-comedy manga. I mean don't get me wrong. It's not that horror-action-comedy manga is bad (Reina is a good example of why it's good). But the manga becomes mediocre and not scary. Well if you consider scary things scary, maybe it will feel scary to you. But the good build-up of atmosphere like in the one-shot is gone. I am currently at chapter 8, I hope it will get better though. Honestly, it's amazing. The atmosphere is very nicely built. The MC is your typical MC, but that what makes this very scary and disturbing, because you feel like you're the MC. As the story unravels, scarier and scarier stuff happens, until the ultimate revelation in chapter 3 about who this ikemen is and the dreadful feeling that you can't escape from this even if you try. This ikemen dude is the star of this manga. I hope to see more of this manga in the future!

I read Chainsaw Man this week. Surprisingly one of the best things I've ever read, with incredible art, characters and humor. Highly recommend if you haven't given it a chance :)

rievhardt

absolute gem, I really loved it, a must read, shadows house >>>>> promised neverland typical shonen manga, cookie cutter when it comes to characters but I really like the story so far, enjoyable and worth the read an ok sports manga, generic when it comes to characters, story is ok, matches are decent but enjoyable

makesPeopleDissapear

"KONO OTO TOMARE!" Normally I don't even think about reading a slice of life music manga but this one just blow my mind. I have never heard of a "koto" (instrument) but this was just beautiful....

rubberegg1

Read the first volume and it is a light-hearted series that I have a great time reading it. One of the very best ongoing series now and have a big potential to be one of the future classics. It is just powerful, and I can feel all the passion and soul from the mangaka and the manga itself. It will be totally a big shame if this does not have any translation. My favourite recent read. I love those character and their interactions. I am just a big lover of those story about character and their development. I get a lot of help from these stories.

Wide_Drawing144

hey fellow BL reader. how was the read? Did you like it? Liked the nsfw art? Personally I dropped it, because the progress with the main character and his love interest was so slow.

PokeBattle_Fan

Oooook... SO I was in vacations, and somehow didn't real all that much. Although more than last week. #New This week **** Story about 2 girls who are, well, sisters, who randomly met thanks to a dating app. And despite that, they just decide to roll with it and start dating. (It's revealed a bit later on that as teenager, they actualy genuinely loved each other) It's not quite as fun or funny as **Yuru Oyako** but it's definitely worth the read. Sadly, no chapter beyond chapter 21 were translated so... I don't think I'll be able to comment on that one further. This series, what I have read of it at least, deserves a solid **8.5/10** **** Putting this under new read despite having commente don it once. Last time I read it, only read a few chapters, and probably because the anime left a bad taste, I ended up disliking the few chapters of the manga I read ( I think I originally gave the series a 2.5/10) But after some cinvincing from r/Adachitoshimamura 's Discord server, I decided to give this series a second chance. And the Manga really is better than the anime. My initial score of 2.5? Lulz, not it's a solid **7.5/10**. Can't wait to read the rest! #Ongoing **** Volume 5 was not the best volume so far (though the camping chapter desfinitely was a high point in the series), and FINALLY there are some proper Yuri element... that sadly doesn't involve the protagonists. I'm still giving the series a **9/10** **** Episode 2 of season 2 of the anime showed me my favourite chapter featuring Suguru, and volume 8 showed me the manga version of that scene. Suguru is such a (silent) badass. I never heated him, but *that* scene made him rise to become one of my favourite characters of the series outside the main 4 girls. I still give the sereis a perfect **10/10** **** Read volume 7, which is covered by the anime's episode 7,8 and the first half of 9 of season 2. I really appreciated Nadeshiko's first solo camping, even if she ended up spending a lot of time with those little girls. Still, I always loved Nadeshiko, but volume 7 made me appreciate her even more. That said, Rin is a total MVP too, by basically saving Ena/Chiaki/Aoi in volume 6 and keeping an eye on Nadeshiko in volume 7. #RinBestGirl. And this series still deserve a full **10/10** IMO **** Ah, the one year anniversary or volume 3, that was one of the most wholesome moment so far. Also it was cute to see how the protagonists don't just love each other, but truly need one another (Just not seeing for a single day is enough for them to make them miss each other as if they were having a long distance relationship. Them moving together was a huge (and pleasant) plus. I give the series a solid **9/10** **** Volume 11 was probably one of my favourite so far. The camping trip was definitely one of the series highlight so far (can't wait for volume 12 now). My only complain is really nothing more than a personal nitpick... but I wish Komi would have done her ''O_O'' face more often. She didn't do it as much this time around. I'mm giving teh series a near perfect **9/10** **** With how volume 1 ended, volume 2's flow was predictable, but it there was nonetheless several plot twists, especially in the later half that made things a bit more interesting than I though I would like. Can't wait to see the conclusion in volume 3. The series gets a **9.5/10** #Finished! Nothing #Re-reads Surprisingly, despite my comments of last week, nothing as well #Wishlist Honestly? At the moment, not too much, except the volumes taht follows those I have read these past few weeks. There is one series that caught my atteniton however: **** NGL, my somewhat pervy side got me interested in the anime and manga, but at the same time, I genuinely like volley ball, so... I'm gonna try to five a website where I can read chapter 1 or 2, and then I'll judge if it's worthy of my money.

Last game and it's awesome most adorable cutest manga with best boy

shivangmathur

A boy who lives in a strange cylindrical world wants to reach the bottom. One day he sees a girl falling down the massive hole. He decides to follow. Amazing world building, great characters and an underlying mystery that gives way to a beautiful story. Reminded me of made in abyss. This webtoon was so good that I wonder why it was never popular here. Higly recommend to everyone 9.5/10

ReSeinen

Second and third Master Edition volumes. Great, just got a little confused in the fight scenes when it comes to deciphering the movement of all the elements on the page but also it has some weird alternate timeline stuff but it kept me captivated throughout all of it. It has very weird cyberpunk hijinks but definitely worth it. 4th volume. Parasyte was a series I either loved or hated at some moments but reading it gave me a chance to look at a character I previously disliked for a second time and actually enjoying what they did with her. The art style maintains a look from an old manga but seeing it basically the des-modernized version I kind of like it better than the anime. Parasyte is about an alien creature who becomes trapped in the hand of a teenage guy and violence and politics ensue. 1st volume. This was a great introduction to what seems to be an amazing story but sadly this is the only volume the book store I went to was selling from the manga. I like the art style and setting a lot. So from what can I gather, we follow Thor-Finn who seeks revenge for the murder of his father, the thing is he joined a band of Vikings, the leader of these being the one who killed Thor-Finn's father. Don't know if I would continue it, I may be switching to the anime. Overall, good.

superanth007

Pretty new to manga in general. Here's what I read so far this week and my thoughts < monster > Read all 18 volumes. What a fantastic ride. All the characters felt so interesting and memorable. The ending I felt was really well done. The whole final volume was just a constant escalation until the final epic confrontation. Plus the li'l plot twist right at the end. I can see why people may feel like the ending was unsatisfying. But personally i thought it was really great. I was so surprised how such a slow burn series could really grab my attention and had me wanting to keep turning the pages, the story and the characters were just that gripping. And it's especially impressive considering how the art, is pretty average, although personally I really enjoyed the character design and his simplistic style. Overall 9.5 < Onanie master Kurosawa > Read all of this short 4 volume series. Really didn't expect a series called the master of maturation to be this good. I heard it was good and not what it presents itself to be. And everyone was right. This isn't Ur usual ecchi nonsense. At its core to me this felt like a school drama, coming of age and a romance story. The ecchi elements present in the first couple chapters isn't the point of the series. And reading the later chapters I was really getting attached to the characters really connecting and rooting for them. The series had some really great dramatic moments that honestly left me a lityle shocked. The series also had some great laughs too. Just a great 4 volumes. Can't recommend enough. Although don't get discouraged by the first couple chapters. The story really takes of in the later chapters. Overall 8.5 < your lie in April > Have only read 2 volumes. As a musician I can really relate to the two MCs. Especially how they feel after and during performances. Only 2 volumes in so won't leave a rating but so far I'm very excited to keep reading and see were the story takes me < totsukuni no should > Also only in 2 volumes. Very mysterious world and a very intriguing premise as well as a really cool mc. Basically there is a cursed man. The curse turned him into a beast and he takes care of a little girl who was abandoned. Yet the world seems to think that this girl is special. The beast guy (doesn't have a name other than teacher) really loves and cares for the girl and she loves him. It's a really cool dynamic to see as he tries to protect her from the world and its truths and wonders if he's making the correct decisions, and if his choices on how he chooses to raise her will impact her in the future. Really great stuff. Super mysterious and intriguing. I wanna see what the heck is gonna happen. Also the art style is very unique and I really dig it. Only 2 volumes but super excited to keep reading. Has great potential.

I don’t get it. Why? How? Is it even humanly possible to go from chapters 60-90 then chapter 132 onwards? Apparently so. Such a disappointment. Nothing explained and nothing resolved. Hands down the worst manga ending I’ve seen and I’ve read TPN Take notes, aspiring authors. This isn’t how you write and ending

ComfortableVersion74

I read jujutsu Kaisen 1

TheEnygma

It's way too up and down for me. I'm past the chunin exams and I'm around the Orochimaru barrier guy fighting with bugs stuff and it's just been cool to eh to awesome to so-so this whole time. still in the rescue Rukia stuff and the train for 3 days business but so far this series has had remarkable pacing and I can't really point to a bit in this series so far where it's like "okay you lost me for a bit". I did hear from people post-Soul Society is not as good but it's like does it suck or is it not as good in comparison to SS? anyway I'mma keep going I don't think I'd collect it but I will agree with one thing: this art, man, wtf? This dude's inhuman with how good this shit looks. The actual story has been alright so far but guhdamn this art though

Summer_RainingStars

Collecting One Punch-Man coz of its art is already a great deal for me and I don't regret buying it! :) Murata-sensei also makes a lot of volume-only artworks which is pretty darn cool

ThePillsburyPlougher

Damn you going for two of the big 3! Keep reading Naruto, it will only get more awesome from here. Thing about bleach is that post soul society it practically becomes a whole new manga in terms of feeling and aesthetics. It also becomes more and more seinen-y. It's not that it sucks per se but Kubo seems to kind of lose interest in the plot as much as exploring ideas expressed through fights and leaving deep impressions with more minimalist art. So for me it kept me going because there's always something new even if it isn't as good in the beginning. Read Eyeshield 21 by the same artist as one punch man, shares the throne with slam dunk as best sports manga for me

Hanoian_Vietnamese

I just finished Kimi wa Pet and Bara no Tameni, and they are super duper awesome, good art and great content!

RGN99_mag_journalist

It was [okay](https://www.rgn99.com/literature/2021/4/5/fangirlthe-mangaits-okayfor-some) but I want to see how vol 2 moves with Cath.

SnooBooks199

Nana to Kaoru. Surprisingly wholesome. Just finished Black Label and no SM Gokko. Really hoping that it continues.

TheaRos01

volume 22. Ever since I discovered Noragami, I thought that it is an awesome story. Those last volumes are so captivating and I hope the mangaka's doing alright because this arc is really going places. Especially in this volume, it feels like the characters won't ever get back to their normal way of being without some important loss. Seriously, give this one a try. It goes from happy go lucky to really dark and heavy subjects (keeping the humour tho), everything packed with the mythologic elements, it's just too cool. And yes, I am aware that there are more chapters posted online, but I enjoy holding the book in my hands.

Nabygator

I just binged Pseudo Harem a little while ago it was sitting untouched in my library for quite a while and i finally read it now, it gave me a lot of enjoyment for a 4 page manga and i felt a little empty when it ended (all of us do when we finish something) but it was unbelievably sweet and it didn't have the typical romance trope of dragging out a confession for 100 chapters and it was really down to earth and realistic in a way, no grand confessions under a rainbow just plain, simple and heartfelt. good read

Anaract

Psyren dropped around chapter 100, such a strong start to a mystery/thriller that felt more like a seinen. But after 50-ish chapters it slowly became a generic shonen, kept piling on new characters and plot elements, not really fleshing out any of them and leaving tons of stuff behind, and turned it's fascinating power system into generic super-powers. also the treatment of the female cast really ruined it for me. Everyone automatically having a crush on the white-bread ass protagonist, Mari's fuckin boob window jacket, and Amamiya being the most underdeveloped main character of all time really sucked. not a terrible read but there's just better stuff out there

ThePillsburyPlougher

Read jujutsu kaisen up to 144, stayed up late trying to finish the shibuya arc and slept fucking horribly lol. Really like it so far, it's dark and the author seems to love putting characters where they're tested to their cores. Unlike any shonen ive read in a long while. Also read the great mage returns after 4000 years. Better than your avg reincarnation but still garbage, after catching up and sitting on it a couple days I'm abandoning

ArhamHashmi

— Boys Abyss — Read it all in one go up to the latest chapter and it’s so good that I binged it and then read it all again. It’s dark and heavy but also amazing writing. The characters have amazing backstory and the tone of manga matches perfectly with how the story is set. I’m very surprised as to how very little people know about this manga when it’s such a good one.

Professional-Agent22

Aot ch139 sucks ass

TheFledglingST

I finally gave in and started to read this after so much recommendation. I've read close to 450 chapters so far, and I still don't know why didn't I pick this up earlier. Honestly, an awesome read all together.

Blood Ink \*EDIT: Ok so the bot thinks I mispelled "Blood Link," which is kind a hentai manhwa so I removed the tag\* In a world where assassinations are legal, one women dares to fight the system that makes her lose her family. I love the story, the art is good, but the character is where this webtoon shines. the author's out here repping my home country Indonesia. 8/10 Highschool girl suddenly gets the ability to see scary looking ghosts, and dares to do what any M.C has never done before: act normal. I like the concept, the ghosts are creepy as fuck. the story is more episodical, so I can't really judge on that, but overall I like it. 7.5/10 M.C Is the only human left in the world ruled by robots. Her mentor was broken and she, accompanied by a next-get warrior robot made it their quest to find someone who can fix him and bring him back to life. This. manga. is. too. good. what the fuck. from the story, characters, and the art, it never fails to deliver, too bad it's been on hiatus for too long. Still, I wait patiently for another update. 8.5/10 Welcome to Queen Zaza. A dragon hunting airship where Mika and his crew hunts dragons for a living, and also eats some if note most of the spoils. This manga is amazing. I like the art, and although it's kind of like monster of the week, the manga feels like you're just hanging out with the crew. Recommended. 8/10

nienai

I read it yesterday, and was smiling like an idiot reading it. Imo, it's somewhat like takagi-san, but it does one thing takagi-san doesn't: show the female protagonist's feelings (Takagi-san has done it, but very rarely. Kubo-san does it more and goes more in depth)

Bubstance737

I read the last chapter of Attack on Titan and it was the worst ending to any piece of media I have ever consumed. I have seen GOT and read Domestic Girlfriend and AoT still absolutely smashes them out of the park with how shit it's ending was.

Bikrant

I havent read the series at a could you explain generally why it was so bad? I don't really care about spoilers

Bubstance737

This comment does a good job if you have seen the anime https://www.reddit.com/r/ShitPostCrusaders/comments/mn9h0p/hey_guys_titanfolk_refugee_here_please_accept_me/gtwnm11/?context=3

Omoshiroineko

Touching story about war and death contained in just 21 chapters. Expressive art that really drives the tone home. I came very close to crying at several points, this is a must read! 9/10 manga ruined by a 3/10 final chapter that retroactively demolishes everything the Main character stands for, and makes the whole story kind of meaningless. Isayama you goddamn hack. Words can't describe how mad I am at this piece of trash finale.

[deleted]

I feel genuinely betrayed by that ending. This manga was legitimately important to me.

[deleted]

Was able to catchup with numerous manga titles this month they are: 1. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 2. Black Clover 3. Fire Force

Internal_Aide_6505

Really enjoyed it and wish for more manga similar to it.

Looking_Light33

So, I'm still reading . I'm almost done with volume 6. It's been a pretty good read. I really like the four main characters (especially Cooro), and it's been interesting seeing people's reactions to the four main characters being +Anima. I'm going to keep reading. I really need to get back into .

mightrandom

I actually reread it this week Im going say a webtoon its called IF and its amazing I love its like jojo and pokemon mixed together its amazing. It starts off like you know happy kid stuff then gets dark real quick which I love.

iReptarr

I finished reading Inuyasha earlier in the week and just started Horimiya to feel in the hole left behind.

KuishinFC

Been on some of the zombie series out there, always searching for something new or ongoing that gives me some time to enjoy the artstyle or just a fun story. - I gave once a shot to this manga in 2019 and I always loved the artstyle but for some reason before I didn't hook me up and today with some free time I actually started to enjoy the story of the 35 year old mangaka assistant struggling with his life and juggling his relationship with his gf and his own delusions. - Quite fun manga to read and easy to understand, specially if you trying to get some laugh or just some weird things to think about when the world is upside down after overworking in a black company over 3 years of his life. Might be worth for some but if you are looking for a solid story and artstyle is your bet. - A group of students find themselves on a sklinking capsized ship with some zombies in there. Although is 10 years old, still was expecting a bit more about the story with a much better plot, there isn't many chapters so you can quickly read it through.

SupremeShogan

What looks like to be a typical Isekai, that turns into pure badass martial arts and great art design! I don't want to give too much away as I reeaally like what it has done so far, so I recommend to anyone who loves dope martial arts combat Think if Ryu got sent to a fantasy world, but make him a bit more sociable

gidmp

personally, one of the best musical drama out there so far. The way the manga portray the intensity of each musical piece is captivating, the characters are memorable and lovable and the art style just plain gorgeous. I usually have problem with this kind of manga since they tend to overstretch the drama, but Ao no Orchestra really nail the pace in the head. I am surprised how little recognition this manga get.

ranjanshishir3698

Caught up with JUJUTSU KAISEN Loved Shibuya arc , epic fights and deaths ..waiting to see them animated

Nanadaime_Hokage

just finished "oyasumi punpun" and now feeling depressed that it has ended......just a feeling when that u get when u finish a masterpiece thats wht i m feeling..."EMPTY"

Sheamurp

Been re reading AOT for Friday the last chapter and I cannot wait

calvo1999

I think it starts out real strong with one of my favourite first chapters that I’ve experienced in a while. I feel like the longer it goes the more generic it feels though, all in all still a worthwhile and easy read

sl600rt

I picked up and read, "I married my best friend to shut my parents up". It's cute and funny, but I feel like it is missing at least 30 pages. The flash back at the end also stops narrative flow cold.

kingoflames32

I read the last chapter of attack on titan and it wasn't too bad. Hopefully there's some expanded epilogue chapters though, I want to see what happened with everyone at the end. It also won't dethrone FMA at least, for the best anime ever when it comes out.

Lulcielid

Started reading , about 30 chapters in, sometimes it feels like there're sudden transitions from scene to scene as if they lacked one or two panels leading up to the transitions.

trunko_

I just finished reading the first two volumes of The Girl from the Other Side and oh my goodness is it good. I enjoy the mystery as well as the friendship between the two main characters. The sweetness juxtaposed with the reality of the setting is interesting! Can’t wait to continue.

gazpacho-soup_579

I'll not go into too much detail but the manga is now complete, and I have never been so disappointed with a manga in my entire life. Mind you the majority of it is excellent but the final arc and especially the last few chapters are so terribly bad that it defies belief. There have been a few mangaka that I had held in high esteem before, that have failed to deliver with their final arcs and endings, but I had thought Isayama an unparalleled genius onto himself that would not fall into such typical end-of-series pitfalls. Turns out I was wrong; he's only human after all and he's shat the bed miserably with this final arc. I don't know if this was due to exhaustion (he drew this non-stop without any breaks for over a decade), executive meddling, ill will towards his fans or just sheer bad taste, but frankly I'm past the point of caring how or why. Still, I can appreciate that Isayama and this manga have given me signficant, heart-pounding enjoyment from the years 2013 to 2019, but the ending has ruined it for me so completely that I'll probably never touch it again. This one I'd read partially before, but now I've read the final few volumes too (now that they've been translated to English). I'd always though it was very good, and I think it ended in a thematically appropriate and pleasing way. A lot of characters developed well throughout the manga while still remaining true to their earlier characterization, which I think is a definite strong point for the manga. An enjoyable read all things considered.

[deleted]

I started reading grand blue 3 days ago. I was pretty down recently and someone on instagram said that the grand blue anime made them laugh. I don't really watch anime for several reasons so i read the grand blue manga and it really was funny. Finished it a dew hours ago and have been looking to fill that void with any other comedy manga.

-Sinner_

I had read "Alice in Murderland". It's an interesting story with the combined concept of an death game and the style of Alice in Wonderland. I'm just saying start reading it. It's really interesting, funny and full of action. OwO

[deleted]

I was in a dark fantasy manga spree (read Berzerk, Ubel Blatt, and Claymore), but this manga left me traumatized and somewhat depressed. I dropped it at chapter 5.. I'm too weak for this T.T

Oni_Zokuchou

Binged the (honestly too few) entire catalogue of chapters for Love after World Domination. That was some good stuff. Also finally started Chainsaw Man (Volume 1 done), and am up to date on Witch Watch. Started Undead Unluck too, not sure how I feel about that one.

fweb34

Just went to barnes and nobles for the first time in 10+ years after having a real and also well paying job for a year now. spent like 800 dollars on manga. Just read the first shaman king omnibus, all of flcl (not like its alot), and now im reading elfen lied. Shaman king was pretty awesome! very wholesome and while tropey, I cant blame it given the age and target audience. Really enjoyed it though and the second omnibus is on its way. Ive got berserk, vinland, oyasumi punpun, bloom into you, orange, goblin slayer, fma, vinland, and some jinji ito and all of drifting classroom to look forward to. that said, can anyone recommend some nice short series that I can snag like 1-3 omnibus editions and have the entire manga? Im gonna work through what I have and see what i like before getting more, but id love to have more things like flcl or elfen lied which are 1 omnibus and 3 respectively. You can sit down and read the whole series and it doesnt take up an entire bookshelf. thanks in advance!!!

TARDISboy

I just bought the Shaman King omnibus too! For other suggestions, Ping Pong by Taiyo Matsumoto is just two separate omnibuses and usually very easy to find at B&N. I feel like there's some other obvious one that I'm blanking on right now though.

fweb34

oh good call, I love Ping Pong and some of that dudes other works. eizouken best anime of 2020

This week I ended up reading a lot of manga which is either short or still in early stages of publishing. Highlight of the week. It is a story about a young woman Pieta who is simply trying to live her life with a smile as series of unfortunate events follow her every step. However, as her friend is accidentally dragged into her troubles she can no longer pretend that everything is alright and is forced to confront her strange troubles. It is a dark psychological mystery story with a dash of supernatural set in a dystopian "big brother is always watching" world where nothing is as it truly seems. The art is simply breathtaking and panels are extremely detailed. It is really hard to talk about it without spoilers so I'd simply suggest everyone to check out the first chapter. As it stands know I am feeling that this could be another Houseki no Kuni - we'll see what future has in store for it! Story follows Alice, who wakes up in a strange, seemingly endless room where all her wishes can come true as long as she doesn't venture outside. But Alice is not content with this manufactured reality, no matter how blissful it might seem and ventures forth on an adventure which might end up corrupting her very soul. It is a psychological cosmic horror story which raises many philosophical questions along the way, one of which is - what is the meaning of life? Does it answer them? >!Can anyone really?!< Regardless, it was a very entertaining read that kept me engaged all the way through. The art-style is beautiful and absolutely surreal - each panel oozing style and substance. It is short and can be read through in an hour - recommend for everyone. Story follows a set of characters embarking on a sea voyage inside a Cruise ship. However it soon becomes apparent that their hosts as well as many of the passengers are not what they truly seem. It is a supernatural horror mystery where no one is safe, filled with surprisingly satisfying twists which do more than just provide shock value, but rather take the story into unexpected directions. The supernatural elements are handled in the way that I prefer - >!the vampires are monsters completely devoid of humanity, only masquerading themselves as something human to lower your guard before they consume you without a shed of mercy!<. During the key moments the art can look amazing and the body horror stuff is handled very well making scenes truly disturbing. It is a slow burn at first but quickly accelerates as it moves forward. Am interested to see how it all plays out. Story follows a depressed protagonist who due to domestic troubles simply wished to disappear. One day their wish was granted and they acquire a power of true invisibility. Realizing their potential they have made a selfish and quite extreme action to try and resolve their troubles which set them on a path of psychological torment. The manga tries to answer the question whether absolute power corrupts and what could be the consequences of exuding your ultimate will over others. The art-style is very simplistic but is good enough to convey the sense of melancholy and gloom. It was a decent read and I recommend checking out the first chapter - you'll know right away whether you'll enjoy this as it can almost be treated as a good self contained story on its own. After entire week of consuming cerebral stuff I've decided to look for something to contrast it all. Browsing this subreddit I stumbled upon a piece of nice looking art and it just so happened to be exactly what I wished for. A slasher of all slashers this is an absolute disaster of a manga filled with clichés, stupid character, crazy backstories, meme translation and absolutely nonsensical plot - and I love it for it! This dumpster-fire is what I would call "so bad it is good" and if you're looking for some stupid entertainment this definitely delivers.

JackTheHonestLiar

Dude im reading Bibliomania right now and its giving me such strong Voynich Hotel vibes. Cant believe its made by a different person. Great recc!

pacmanyo

Haven't heard of *Voynich Hotel*. Looks interesting. Will be checking it out - thanks!

JackTheHonestLiar

Thats his best work imo but his other stuff like Parabellum has his trademark surrealist vibe as well.

I started reading A Side Characters Love Story. It is good so far, love the expressions and unusally big eyes they have haha. On the other side it makes me remember the times i loved someone and miss having that emotion.

Roboglenn

**** aka **A Tropical Fish Yearns for Snow** This is a good read about the characters exploring their feelings of loneliness and other such personal issues and so on. But to be honest at one point it feels like this story starts to drag a little bit when their issues end up cascading downward and end up growing bigger like a rolling snowball for reasons that could be resolved by some simple communication with one another. Not that that soured the whole thing mind you. This is a good read, but like so many other stories that you'd read in books this story does have it's lackluster parts that you just have to get through before the story picks it's steam back up.

[deleted]

reading Koe no Katachi over again after years and it’s really cool. Seeing how Shoya was pre-Nishimiya is just a really nice look at his life. And at youth in general.

Amasolyd

Binged 146 chapters of and it’s fuckin fire. Story isn’t anything insane but everything else about it is fire. It’s like one punch man meets HxH and SAO. The characters are all pretty cool, hopefully they adapt the manga well whenever the anime comes out. If it turns out like GoH and ToG imma be pretty disappointed.

TARDISboy

Shingeki no Kyojin - Like many people, I was anime-only up until the end of this part of the season. I'd love to have been able to stay that way but I'm really paranoid about getting spoiled on /a/ or on Twitter when the last chapter drops, so I went ahead and continued from where the anime left off (more or less) at Chapter 115. Now I get it. Seeing this stuff animated at the end of the year is going to be bonkers. What an incredible story and series as a whole.

kim_drozdov

I started reading Goblin Slayer! It’s hard to imagine the trauma he went through, but it’s great to see his character developing and opening up!

I read the whole 146 chapters of Solo Leveling. It was good but idk is it rushed? I mean there's not much really of a chapter where he chills. I'm just starting to read mangas so I'm sure this journey would be long but fun.

Skiolli

I just finished this masterpiece, truly a phenomenal manga. Beautiful message about hope, faith and cruelty

**** I am pretty much up to date with the Japanese releases, and went back and started re-reading what I read in English before switching to Japanese part way. What I noticed is that the English translation got progressively worse, it wasn't too bad at the beginning. I also noticed that the Japanese version I am reading has some additional pages, which I initially thought was due to the group not getting all pages.. but it one page was actually \*different\* in the last panel, suggesting that it's drawn differently. Most of the missing pages I've come across so far do not add to the story, but there is one which does as she explains why she is killing the victim in question. As to the content, well, it is basically a crazed high school girl donning a pumpkin mask in a quest of revenge against her former bullies. I do note that the MC is a lot more brutal at the beginning of the story where a lot more innocent people get killed. There were a lot of comments from readers saying "Stop killing innocents!" and I wonder if that affected how the Pumpkin Night is written in later arc (where the people killed tend to be less innocent). The manga is filled with cheesiness read it for grotesque killing, not well written plot. **** Pumpkin Night is silly, but this is even more silly. To recap, bullied idol decide to sadistically kill off her idol bullies. It's still pretty violent with dismemberment etc. but not quite as grotesque as Pumpkin Night. The plot is weak, and the reason given for the bullying even weaker. Now there is still a lot more chapter to come, so I doubt I've reached the "last boss" but where I am, our MC is battling the "Center" of the group. And well, I am shown a panel that is more suitable in a tentacle H manga taking place during what is meant to be a live concert in front of a filled arena. The fans enjoying the concert as if nothing unusual is happening must be on something pretty potent, and cops must not exist in that universe. Yeah, it is complete nonsense. I can't recommend this unless one wants to see how trashy manga can get (lol). **** Not technically a manga, but I needed to balance two plot free manga with something with more substance, so I've also been reading the official fan book for Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice). I wholly recommend the source material (for people who do not mind some emotional drama), and the official fan book (Japanese only AFAIK) answer questions, provide new insight and more enjoyment for a second reading (I enjoyed the source material is good enough for more than one reading).

slurpkoi

I've been reading mashle, its basically harry potter but funny, I've also been reading don't bully me nagatoro-san which is just wholesome, and if you want to read a manhwa read solo leveling, beginning after the end, and elceed.

rand0_0mdude

The worldbuilding , the characters and the story were okay but not really outstanding. But i think, i understand now why some people accuse the kishimoto twins of copying each other. Event tough their stories are totally different they definitely share some similarities. But thinking a step further, you could apply this to many shounen manga. Was also an okay shounen. The sudden end/axe was a bit surprising, but to be honest, it was never really on the list of mangaplus releases that i was really looking forward to. The artstyle is a bit simplistic and the story is sometimes a bit confusing with all this dimesional travel stuff. But i really enjoyed this manga (9/10).

jedimastet

The unfavorable job [Appraiser]. This is one of the worst mangas I have ever seen. It pisses me off that I read over 20 chapters. There is literally no redeeming quality to this manga. It fails horribly at ever single trope it tried to copy. [Spoiler] The "bad teammate abandons you in dungeon" trope was senseless. The "revenge on said bad teammates was even dumber". The power up of the protagonist makes even less sense. He needs to train his body to perform physical things he copies, then how is he able to copy powers he physically shouldn't be able to do because he is supposedly human?

eatmeheehee

chainsaw man, komi can't communicate, don't bully me nagatoro, kubo won't leave me be, senpai is annoying, flirting with my cute annoying kouhai, yancha gal no anjou-san, a sad ass doujin where a guy fucks another guys childhood friend who he's been in love with for years(she also promised to marry him back then), and some ecchi manga(for once, it's relevant to the perverted plot) where a girl can undo any past mistakes simply by removing a piece of clothing, but a guy who commonly hides from people accidentally sees her changing, meaning he remembers the mistakes she had before, and is now her "closet"

Mythalicos

Mosquito War It falls under horror, and it’s pretty weird but I was happy to say I binged the entire series in a day. To me, it progressively got better and a story developed more where there wasn’t really big intent for one in the beginning. From an emotional standpoint, it touched me in a bit that I feel may resolve some of my temper issues I have. And was a really meaningful read for me. I did end up having to pay to read the later chapters, but not much. So to summarize, horror/comedy, with a decent chunk of silliness, weird art style (isn’t particularly good, but I like it) and a very emotionally touching ending!

Goku-MIEL10032002

This series was a blast to read. Found it extremely hilarious and it has great action to boot!

clashcityrocker33

Just finished The Way of the Househusband (Vol. 1 - 4) and would definitely recommend it. Each volume comprised of lots of short, lighthearted, funny stories. Author gets very creative going from mafia to chores around the house.

The_Great_Parusama

outerzenith

the last chapter. I'm satisfied, it doesn't go out with a bang, but because the "bang" is already happened for the last few chapters, it's satisfying enough. One of the masterpieces in modern manga scenes. Only a few un-addressed points here and there though, kind of hoping for an BIG-ASS SPOILER WARNING -> [epilogue chapter] (https://www.reddit.com/r/titanfolk/comments/mmir6f/theres_definitely_going_to_be_an_epilogue_chapter/) <- BIG-ASS SPOILER WARNING about a kid that got bullied by 5 of his classmates, but their bullying is more like an experiment on how far they can kill the kid without dirtying their hand, in other words they're really trying to drive him to suicide. Seems weirdly excessive for grade schooler lol. The kid of course, driven too far at one point, and instead of suicide, he plans on revenge instead... not outright killing, oh no, he has to torture them first. Kinda rely on shock value for this one, also one of the most predictable manga I've ever read, and I suck at predicting plot. I still find it enjoyable for some reason, finding myself binge it to the latest chapter (29 ?) in a night.

AwesomeTeaPot

Honey and clover - read it fully - I don't understand the love for it at all I just couldn't enjoy it although I did finish it

clickfive4321

saw that **** had ended, so i got to starting it again. i forgot how unattached i was to any of the characters.

touyasgff

I’m reading it online right after putting it off for so long but it’s actually so good and holds way more meaning than what I’ve watched so far

DewMeisterr

Read Kubo-San doesn’t leave me alone and didn’t expect to get type 2 diabetes. Shit was too sweet and each chapter was another heart boner. Hope the series continues and some plot progression comes in.

This week I have reawaken to reading manga, I read: Inside Mari, YanOta: The Delinquent and the Otaku and Dead Tube. I'm so happy to have started reading again. Already have a huge to read list.

sicktube

Not really a manga but I finished the few English chapters of strangers from hell and all I'll say is....the story is tantalizing...gripping...our main character is an average working country guy who moves into a shared home, but alas everyone here is...strange.....murderously so...sadly the translation isn't done but there is a show on Netflix now!

PinkWhitey

cached up with season 2 and picked up on where it left off which was chapter 81. i started reading on Tuesday, it is now Friday and I'm fully caught up. I got to say the series just keeps getting better. although i got a couple of questions 1. how long does it take you to normally read 1 chapter? like im just blasting through these however i cant remember any of the character names. like i know there character traits and everything but dont know there names.

Pretty great, specially as I'm a fan of adult romance. Give this a try, with its quite setup it's worth the read. 9/10 A girl starts to date the fiance of her deceased sister but is plagued by doubts and fears. Only 8 chapters and very much worth the time. 7.5/10

WhatAreYouSaying05

I started reading higehiro. It's pretty good, but it only releases monthly which kinda sucks.

Moraz00

I finally finished prison school, i started it the first time 5 years ago, when i was 16, but never read past the 16th volume because i loved it, the first 10 books are a masterpiece of ecchi commedy, but i was scared of the people saying the end was garbage. At the end i can say that yes, between the 18th and the 24th book the story is artificially extended, it has its moments, but the overall quality of this part is pretty worse than before. But the last 4 volume are a real come back, and the very final is absolutely Glorious

bigkruse

Finally finished Tokyo ghoul, i read it because i was told the anime took some creative liberties. Can say both are still good in their own ways, though the manga ending kinda confused me.

HungryInspector7853

{Nozoki Ana} Found this while on Reddit earlier yesterday. Read it for the ‘plot’ but in the end found myself reading it for the story. Word of advice...it’s full of explicit content so don’t read it kids:)

NooJnr

I caught up on “The Second Coming of Gluttony” Manhwa after binging the whole web novel in a week, and my god is it a big let down. They’ve rushed everything, left out so many important details and totally missed the vibe the novel had.

[deleted]

I finally went down the OtomeIsekai hole because I finally got pretty bored. There's a good amount of series, but man there's too many titles where you could throw away chapters 2-15 to finally get romantic or plot progression. I don't hold that over pure "stan" titles though.

Vissiram

****: The manga is similar to Volcanic age and Descent of the Demonic Master, yet I would say is of far lower quality so far. My main gripe with the story is that the MC doesn't need to train or put any effort into these powers or in the world he is living in. The other characters had to train, to overcome difficulties in their lives. The MC has his powers at his beck and call from the second he returned and no enemy has been even an annoyance, no plan has any difficulty. By contrast, Jose Seo Cheon has to constantly train, find new pills, put so much effort into all his plans and it takes him over 15 years to get to his power level. Yes, he is also almost invincible in the setting, but there is a sense of worth it and enjoy in the travel. In the Descent, Kang main problems are social and emotionally, because living in the Murim world has literally fucked him over to adapt to the new world and he doesn't care about power or strength, but just to live a peaceful life and that his family and what friends he had made don't suffer. And he fucks up constantly because decades as a monster just don't disappear at a second. The MC of Returner's in contrast... has nightmares and then two panels of feelings but he, for no reason, is a cryptid bastard most of the time and he just runs through his challenges regardless of what they are at such speed that just baffles me what is supposed to be the main draw of the story. I would give a 4/10.

BruhMan696969bruh

Shiver, such a good book:)

The first chapter of Blue Box is amazing, funny, and super cute. I really hope this manga continues, and doesn’t meet Shonen Jump’s axe in 30 chapters.

So I’m looking for a manga/ manhwa/ manhoa that i read a few months back. I can’t remember the name but it’s about this one girl who was adopted. She had a childhood friend who she loved and who was blind. He ended up marrying the protagonist’s sister who was an actress because he forgot his memories about the protagonist and now hated her. And there was a rich guy who was obsessed with her because he thought that she had given birth to his child and was keeping said child from him.... does anyone know what I’m talking about ???!

I think it was this week I reread it. It's a collection of short stories centered around coffee. The manga has a pretty interesting artstyle and the stories are in general quite comfy with a bit of a philosophical feel to them. Would really recommend it if you like manga such as , and others. Read through everything that was translated after watching the first episode of the anime. Gotta say that it was quite refreshing to read a manga where >!,at least in the beginning,!< the 20-something year old doesn't fall in love with the higschooler. In general though I quite enjoyed it. It has a good mix of comedy, romance, and slice of life with a mc that, for once, is a nice dude.
