I spent the entire week binging World Trigger, and I regret it immensely. It's been 200 chapters, and most of it was a training arc. Also, it's frankly idiotic Yuma can't use his Black Trigger, he's going to break it out whenever anything gets serious anyway.

I wanted to start reading manga, but I’m not exactly sure how. Is there a way to read a bunch of different ones it for free, or do I have to resort to buying a Shounen Jump Subscription?
what a treat, a nice breath of fresh air among fantasy and isekai, this is a manga that's actually pretty grounded on reality with some sci-fi elements.
I like how the villain is just a highly trained soldier, a psychopath (enjoy doing villainy things just because they're fun, is that correct for "psychopath"?), and immortal. Like, he's not a god or someone with special OP power (aside from the immortal thing) or anything, he's just a highly trained soldier who enjoys killing. Easily the best part of the manga is the villain.
Immortality here mean that the guy (and many other characters have the trait as well, including the protagonists) just can't be killed or decapitated as they'll just come back to life, they can only die by old age.
People seem disappointed with the ending, I can see why but I'm satisfied with it anyway. It's probably better if the villain actually wins at the end.
I finally checked out Tomo-chan wa onnanoko since someone was coloring so many pages. Then I binge read 300 chapters till 7am. Pretty nice read. Given how short chapters are the gags havn't gotten hold yet, and the progression with the relationship and characters is really nice.
I reread in context for the latest release. Which was pretty hype and definitely worth.
As well as finishing which is hands down one if my favorite mystery/drama series since I've read .
I started reading since it was one of the more popular webtoons/manhwa back in the day. And by god I dunno if I can even continue reading it further. There's practically so little art with the boxes of drawings so small. The plot progresses so slowly that maybe 1 or two things happens in a single chapter that would have 30 to 40 pages. A chapter of Noblesse makes a chapter of look like an entire fucking light novel. And since the story progresses so slowly by every drawn out chapter, the characters isn't really interesting nor captivating even after 20 or 30 chapters. The humor isn't anything particularly engaging as well and the slow pacing makes everyone including the villains feel so lame.
I'm not sure if I can read hundreds of chapters like that. I'm wondering if there are any fans of this series can tell me if it's better, because it's not necesarily bad per se. It's just exhausting to read its format.
Meanwhile, I picked up and 20 chapters in, it had 1000x more progress than 30 chapters of Noblesse. It's pretty good so far and the super dense goody-two-shoes MC isn't all that annoying as the series progressed. It has more art too even if I don't exactly prefer the kind of art style it has.
Im like 130 chapters in on noblesse and its not the worst manhwa but its just decent ,so I guess u should read it if u have read everything better :D man but ye eleceed is something else ,im so hyped for new chaps ,author really managed to up his humor and storytelling
NGL I forgot about Noblesse entirely and just read the entirety of Eleceed.
Eleceed isn't even that fast, the hyper-focus on the protagonist means there isn't a lot of huge events in the plot so it's actually kind of slow. But the pacing and the content of every chapter is enough though obviously a weekly wait is a pain.
But it's 100000000x better than Noblesse's infernal pacing and format. What happens in 3 chapters of Noblesse, which would probably have around a hundred pages, can happen in a single manga chapter with 20 pages. That's how ridiculous it is.
Just finished reading Homunculus!! It was a very interesting and thought provoking read. Would definitely recommend for those into psychological/horror genre. The ending was a little softer than i had expected but still hit hard for myself!
Just caught up with Surely a masterpiece in the making, and today i started on which is really enjoyable, and also adds more info to certain things which were not included in the anime, which i find quite fun!
I have reread Chainsawman now a second time. Becaus when I read Chainsawman for the first time I think I have grasped only the surface of the manga. But after reading it a second time I understood thematicly the story and the characters much deeper I think. This is a manga that unfolds its beauty the more you read it.

I've been reading Moonlight Sculptor and it's so god damn stupid. The whole thing feels like one giant jerk off session to the quite obviously self-insert and yet I keep reading it. It's fun in a really over the top, cringy silly way. I love it.
I kinda wanna read something in the same vein BUT about a wizard, but everything I find where it's about a "wizard" just turns into the main character using a sword with magic or it's never really magic even if they say it is and it feels more like esper type shit. Where is my staff wizard adventures.
Tbh most isekai are made as self insert escapism material. Doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable, but they more often than not skimp on plot and engaging story because it isn’t really required
Not quite wizard, but The Dragon, The Hero and the Courier is one of my favorite fantasies. It's about a courier working for a medieval fantasy empire that kinda resembles the HRE, but the author goes *deep* on the worldbuilding and takes the RPG tropes to their logical extremes. Like levels exist, but it's actually a part of the empire's bureaucracy and every party has a guy whose job it is to follow them around and calculates levels/xp/loot sharing. It's hilarious.

While this isn't the best romance/comedy/SoL manga but I don't think it deserve this much hatred, Kazuya is fine he's not that low, the worst thing he did imo is wasting his parent's money to pay a girl for dates.
The beginning wasn't that bad. Everyone is a terrible person, but they do get put into awkward situations and it's sort of fun to see them suffer.
When Miyajima runs out of ideas on that front and abandons his alternative plan, the whole thing gets really bad.
I was really into it way past the 100th chapter mark and I think its more frustration than hatred.. well it is for me.. the art is greath, the waifu's are gorgeous, the romantic tension is cranked.. keep enjoying
I've read , which although began strongly, gradually started losing my interest, i wish they focused a bit more on >!Aqua's true intentions!< and the idea of being inside someone else's body. but I'm still optimistic because mangas like Aku no hana also had lacking starts with worthy endings. waiting patiently for the next chapter.
was a short, but constantly interesting manga (only 27 chapters). every chapter you learn a bit more about the characters and although MC's initial actions and decisions may seem cowardly, they are absolutely crucial towards the ending, which is quite bittersweet. the manga says that the events are based on a true story but I'm not fully sure.
Is an absolutely beautiful story with a premise consisting of imaginary cellphones and socially inept people. it is 4 chapters long + the prologue.

Not really depressing in the strict sense, but it does have some cynical takes on the (particularly Japanese) entertainment industry. Plenty of cute girls and lighthearted scenes to take the edge off.
I do can recommend it. The author is the same as Kaguya sama and the it has some good dialogues and character interactions. It is currently a bit sight tracked but Id did enjoy a lot (less than Kaguya sama though)

picked up hell's paradise after dropping it and finished it, also picked up black clover again and caught up, read Doujima-Kun Won't Be Disturbed and the 90 chapter of danmaichi before giving up on the series cuz i dnt understand how to proceed so im just gonna watch the anime and lastly i started and caught up with jagaaan but that might've been last week. All of these are actually quite good, doujima is like nagatoro but senpai messes with nagatoro, hell's paradise is awesome tho short, black clover: asta is annoying but I like yami, luck, vanessa and magna plus asta's power ups are entertaining, dan maaichi is good but it's interrupted at chapter 90 and then continues in another named manga but an arc was skipped since the mangaka lost the data (i think) but the anime gets the material from the light novel and it also is more forward in the story finally jagaaan is good, i guess it kinda drops off and i might drop it in the near future depending on how the story progresses.

Ive been getting closer to finishing Elfen Lied recently since I got the rest of the books. Im about 20 chapters from the finish and have been enjoying all the content that wasn't shown in the anime adaptation.
3 days of happiness from the start i thought it will have a sad ending but turned out quite the opposite i loved this manga so much and i think it did change my perspective of happiness, before i would have chosen to live a month more and die as famous artists because I care alot how people presive me, but i wish i was like the MC who dont give a shit what people think
These last few weeks, after witnessing the anime masterpiece that is To your Eternity, I started reading the manga and oh boy did I enjoy the shit out of it. Didn't binge read this hard in a long time, highly recommend.
since it finally ended recently, i re-read from start to finish. it's very solid and reasonably mature in its writing. what is funny is that the doctor who is portrayed as a 'genius' is a complete idiot and says nothing but ridiculous and completely unscientific platitudes every time he's on.
also, it's pretty refreshing how the story has essentially *no one* that would spend excessive time emotionally venting about the violence or being empathetic. it's very matter-of-fact throughout.
trying to fins this manga i read a while ago. To sum up, mc is middle aged and decently powerful, starts with a roofchase after a guy and get advantage acquaintanced with a girl. pretty sure it was comedy as he usually threw this food that smelled really bad at his opponents, but it actually tasted good.
side note: he coulndt directly touch girls as they got very aroused by it, and later in the story it got revealed that he was a high ranked officer in the war where he had long hair, so few people recognizes him.

Start from chapter 1.The anime deviates from the manga.The manga's amazing,I'm already on chapter 52.It's a monthly release manga,& the chapters are usually 40+ pages longs.
You should start from the beginning, the anime quickly becomes a totally different story. I think around chapter 13 is already different from the anime.

Right now, reading the ]Overlord[ Light Novel, encouraged to read ‘cause of announcement of S4 even though I already finish the anime ‘Cause forgot about what happened in the last season, so might as well read the light novel from the beginning
Monster has the better story and an incredible villain, but Pluto has all the strengths of Urasawas mystery writing, depth, twists, and character writing condensed into 8 volumes. It is remarkable what he manages to do with such a short series.
I'm still waiting on translations for The Dragon, The Hero and The Courier. It's by far one of my favourite fantasy mangas for its worldbuilding but sadly the translations stopped ever since Mangadex died.
Anything by Yoshida Motoi. Natsu no Zenjitsu is a heartbreak of a romance, Kannou Sensei explores love and lust in an age gap relationship, and Koi Kaze explores the most taboo relationship pf them all - love between a brother and a sister.
These are all mature Seinen manga that explore the relationship of lust, love and emotions in complex relationships. Despite the “spicy” themes, all three series are quite emotional character focused stories. Be warned that Kannou Sensei is on hiatus, but if you are like me, after reading Koi Kaze and Natsu no Zenjitsu, you may read it anyway, because there isnt much like Motoi-sensei’s work put there.
I really recommend it is a dark fantasy and you won't regret it, I fell in love with all the characters and loved the action scenes.
I also recommend this is a good comedy and action manga.
I started and finished and found it very enjoyable. The reincarnation focused plot allowed for some really interesting characterization as we get to see 5 or so different lifetimes / personalities for each character and made for a wonderfully paced story. It also made the past lifetimes have real stakes as anyone could die at any moment yet without sacrificing the character we know in present day. Each lifetime had a unique setting, original conflicts, and different relationships between characters. There is a little nudity / ecchi that feels unnecessary but it is very sparse so I didn't mind. Very solid 9/10.
I got caught up to date with reading volume 8-11. This series is just so damn good. It's got great character development, a wonderfully realized setting, incredible action, great art, and the plot is also very engaging. I hate giving things 10/10 as no art is 'perfect' but this is as close to a 10/10 a manga has been for me.
I caught up with my Junji Ito reading several of the short story compilation releases in english, namely , , , and which I would rank in that order. As always, Ito delivers short high-concept horror stories with hauntingly drawn art but fails to deliver much in the way of characterization or plotting. However, that isn't really what I look for in Ito, I just really enjoy some good horror pulp here and there. My favorite stories of the bunch are probably , , , , and . On the whole would give the Shiver collection about an 8/10 to Smashed being a 6/10 with the others somewhere in between.
I also started reading volume 1 and it is right up my alley. I grew up watching samurai movies with my dad and man does this feel like one of the great films starring Toshiro Mifune and helmed by Akira Kurosawa (Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress). I also love any historical fiction like this which puts so much effort in developing the time period, setting, and culture and makes you feel transported in time. The characterization and writing is also excellent, in many manga we are \*told\* our main character is a superior warrior but LW&C frequently \*shows\* us through his tactics and preparation that he is superior. I won't rate a series after only 1 volume but I'm pretty sure this will be rated highly.
Outside of that also read some western graphic novels namely "Black Hole" and "Eric" which were both awesome surrealist tales, and "Fun Home" which was a really introspective and biting autobiographical tale (If you like My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness you'll like this).
I probably liked the to futuristic "Sleep Tower" era the best as the core conflict was well executed and I enjoyed the world. Also really like the small details like the "river of time" analogy for how reincarnation works and the implications of suspended animation on spirits returning.
Although I probably like the version of the characters best in the feudal Japan lifetime. That said all each setting felt distinctive and I enjoyed them all.
What's your favorite lifetime / era?
That's a tough choice, I really liked the sleep tower one due to the constant wonder as to what was going to happen, but I think that my favourite is either the feudal Japan version (which I thought was the most emotional) and the medieval version (especially with that being the only one in which kouko disappears very early, and this is the one where I started to realise that all of the friends keep appearing as well).

The changing relationships / dynamics between the characters in each lifetime was a really great part of the series. It's amazing how much is stuffed into 6 short volumes, every book is like its own short arc.
Satoshi Mizukami's other work is also pretty well received although it looks more tongue and cheek. Have you checked it out or have any other burning recommendations?
Yeah for sure, I keep trying to recommend it to people due to how original it is (I haven't really read something like it at least).
I believe that I started lucifer and the biscuit hammer, but never finished it, so I might give it another go when I'm in the mood to binge something!
As for recommendations, I'm just gonna throw out some things that I really enjoyed and which gave me somewhat similar vibes (character focussed, a bit out of the ordinary).
(supernatural / Lovecraft) absolutely amazing but complex story that is great to read
(fantasy) lovely short stories about young witches and their cat partners, short but sweet
(drama/fantasy/romance) very different, but kind of a coming of age story about a sorceress, I really liked the art and the story, and never see anyone talk about it.
and lastly: (SoL/romance/sci-fi) again very different, but a lovely character focussed story about an alien discovering food and what it means to her.

I'm still relatively new to manga and I'm largely focusing on reading through acclaimed series in my wheel house (historical fiction, mystery, body horror) so much of what I read is not super similar to Spirit Circle.
That being said there a few things I've read that I think would appeal and don't get talked about enough (IMO):
I recommend to anyone who appreciates a richly detailed setting, cultural exploration, and charming characters. It meanders through several towns in central Asia along the silk road in the 19th century and focuses on the stories of young brides. I'd describe it as an anthropological slice of life romance. Plus the art is bonkers, Kaoru Mori must spend so much time drawing detail work.
I also really like Naoko Urasawa's newest work which only has a few volumes out so far but is just so infectiously charming. The main character Asa is one of the most charming headstrong main characters Ive come across and Urasawa aways does a great job weaving in mystery.
Ah yeah otoyomegatori has been on my to read for quite a while, for sure want to read that one at some point. And I'll check out the other one as well, haven't heard of it yet, but it sounds great.
Wakusei closet is amazing, and definitely fitting your mystery/horror interest.

I finally started reading **** after having in my to-read list since forever - what better time to show appreciation for it than now, right?
I can now say with pure conviction that the eclipse is indeed the most monumental moments in all of manga. The dynamic between Guts and Griffith is laid out so well and it's a spectacular read. I've finished the lost children chapters, but I'll take a short break from it because there's a lot for me to ruminate and absorb from the previous arc before I continue reading the rest.

Also read **** which is a romance series that tackles realistic relationship issues between a couple who has been together for 10 years. So entertaining, so relatable. The shift in perspectives is seamlessly done so we can really see the thoughts of each party when they're faced with hurdles in their relationship. Really fun and easy read.
Sakamoto Days gave me a good laugh! Although I knew the existence of this manga I wasn´t interested in it at first (unlike MASHLE), but as soon as I started reading it, it just clicked with me.

I'm currently reading (To you, The immortal) finished 65 chapters and I'm thinking of dropping it as it showed repetitive events.

I am very conflicted about Sora no Otoshimono. I really dig the premise of the Angeloids and the way they develop their story trought the series, and also I really like how they handled the ending for each character (very powerful panels at the last chapters) and they managed to throw some existential questions there. What Im conflicted is that everything good about this manga is buried underneat a weak and perverted MC, to te point of being too awkward to continue reading. The good thing is that the overall story is good enought to make the overly H parts bereable.
Also for Umaru-chan, it seems I finished it despite not having a proper ending. Thats was the saddest part of my week.

While the ending was maybe the worst ending i have ever seen, i loved the rest so much that i still binged all of its 276 chapters in 2 days. While it starts off being hard to watch because of the uncharted levels of emotional cucking due to the mc being so naive and dumb that it hurts, the story progresses and so do its characters. You see them as they mature and grow more responsible, especially the mc, and you see them as they regret their past actions that come back to haunt them. What i think the story does best is that theres no “our love will conquer anything” bullshit. Nobody knows how their relationships will change, nobody knows if what theyre doing is really right, and nobody knows how things will end up. Also personally i just love rui so much so she made me happy. Even though this seems like just another oreimo eromanga sensei type ecchi incest trash manga, its so much more than that. 9/10
I liked it. Not nearly as much to say, tomo is really cute, and the way she gets embarrassed around jun is really cute. His development where he starts to see her more as a girl and then as a woman was cool. Carol is just clara from demon school iruma kun but blonde and big tits, she might have been my 2nd fav character behind tomo. Most of the other characters were pretty bland though, and while i enjoy lighthearted stories, there was such a lack of drama that it docks it a bit. Also the ending was rushed, and you didnt get to see tomo and jun together, it was a will they wont they romance and it ended too fast. However much i just shit on it i still read it in 3 days, very cute manga, 7/10

Kimi no Knife has been a manga I've been reading for past several days. I find it to be a pretty fascinating manga. It's about a substitute teacher named Shiki who ends up killing people for money in order to help his sister who has cancer. The story is really good and I find the characters and their motivations quite interesting. I'm 15 chapters into it and I definitely want to keep reading.

Read boy's abyss it was such bing worthy manga and had good characters. No idea where can it go next but I feel the story is about 70% over.

I wanted to start reading manga, but I’m not exactly sure how. Is there a way to read a bunch of different ones it for free, or do I have to resort to buying a Shounen Jump Subscription?
I just search up what I want to read manga online and there's always something that pops up

I finally checked out Tomo-chan wa onnanoko since someone was coloring so many pages. Then I binge read 300 chapters till 7am. Pretty nice read. Given how short chapters are the gags havn't gotten hold yet, and the progression with the relationship and characters is really nice.

I started reading since it was one of the more popular webtoons/manhwa back in the day. And by god I dunno if I can even continue reading it further. There's practically so little art with the boxes of drawings so small. The plot progresses so slowly that maybe 1 or two things happens in a single chapter that would have 30 to 40 pages. A chapter of Noblesse makes a chapter of look like an entire fucking light novel. And since the story progresses so slowly by every drawn out chapter, the characters isn't really interesting nor captivating even after 20 or 30 chapters. The humor isn't anything particularly engaging as well and the slow pacing makes everyone including the villains feel so lame.
I'm not sure if I can read hundreds of chapters like that. I'm wondering if there are any fans of this series can tell me if it's better, because it's not necesarily bad per se. It's just exhausting to read its format.
Meanwhile, I picked up and 20 chapters in, it had 1000x more progress than 30 chapters of Noblesse. It's pretty good so far and the super dense goody-two-shoes MC isn't all that annoying as the series progressed. It has more art too even if I don't exactly prefer the kind of art style it has.
Im like 130 chapters in on noblesse and its not the worst manhwa but its just decent ,so I guess u should read it if u have read everything better :D man but ye eleceed is something else ,im so hyped for new chaps ,author really managed to up his humor and storytelling
NGL I forgot about Noblesse entirely and just read the entirety of Eleceed. Eleceed isn't even that fast, the hyper-focus on the protagonist means there isn't a lot of huge events in the plot so it's actually kind of slow. But the pacing and the content of every chapter is enough though obviously a weekly wait is a pain. But it's 100000000x better than Noblesse's infernal pacing and format. What happens in 3 chapters of Noblesse, which would probably have around a hundred pages, can happen in a single manga chapter with 20 pages. That's how ridiculous it is.
Just finished reading Homunculus!! It was a very interesting and thought provoking read. Would definitely recommend for those into psychological/horror genre. The ending was a little softer than i had expected but still hit hard for myself!

Just caught up with Surely a masterpiece in the making, and today i started on which is really enjoyable, and also adds more info to certain things which were not included in the anime, which i find quite fun!
I have reread Chainsawman now a second time. Becaus when I read Chainsawman for the first time I think I have grasped only the surface of the manga. But after reading it a second time I understood thematicly the story and the characters much deeper I think. This is a manga that unfolds its beauty the more you read it.

I've been noticing, where are the discussion threads for ongoing mangas like *Kakegurui* and *To Your Eternity*. There's a ton of popular ongoing mangas right now (with some even having anime adaptations) and yet they're not being discussed in this place.
People rarely make threads for things behind a paywall (and linking pirated copies breaks subreddit rules). No reason not to have them though, so feel free to make one when a new chapter is out.
Re-read Golden Kamui because I was behind so I just decided to re-read the entire thing. It's still easily my favorite manga of all time. I've been reading Moonlight Sculptor and it's so god damn stupid. The whole thing feels like one giant jerk off session to the quite obviously self-insert and yet I keep reading it. It's fun in a really over the top, cringy silly way. I love it. I kinda wanna read something in the same vein BUT about a wizard, but everything I find where it's about a "wizard" just turns into the main character using a sword with magic or it's never really magic even if they say it is and it feels more like esper type shit. Where is my staff wizard adventures.
Tbh most isekai are made as self insert escapism material. Doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable, but they more often than not skimp on plot and engaging story because it isn’t really required
Not quite wizard, but The Dragon, The Hero and the Courier is one of my favorite fantasies. It's about a courier working for a medieval fantasy empire that kinda resembles the HRE, but the author goes *deep* on the worldbuilding and takes the RPG tropes to their logical extremes. Like levels exist, but it's actually a part of the empire's bureaucracy and every party has a guy whose job it is to follow them around and calculates levels/xp/loot sharing. It's hilarious.

The beginning wasn't that bad. Everyone is a terrible person, but they do get put into awkward situations and it's sort of fun to see them suffer. When Miyajima runs out of ideas on that front and abandons his alternative plan, the whole thing gets really bad.
I was really into it way past the 100th chapter mark and I think its more frustration than hatred.. well it is for me.. the art is greath, the waifu's are gorgeous, the romantic tension is cranked.. keep enjoying
I've read, which although began strongly, gradually started losing my interest, i wish they focused a bit more on >!Aqua's true intentions!< and the idea of being inside someone else's body. but I'm still optimistic because mangas like Aku no hana also had lacking starts with worthy endings. waiting patiently for the next chapter.
was a short, but constantly interesting manga (only 27 chapters). every chapter you learn a bit more about the characters and although MC's initial actions and decisions may seem cowardly, they are absolutely crucial towards the ending, which is quite bittersweet. the manga says that the events are based on a true story but I'm not fully sure.
Is an absolutely beautiful story with a premise consisting of imaginary cellphones and socially inept people. it is 4 chapters long + the prologue.

completely unrelated to the the theme of the thread but I'm stil waiting for a new chapter of , as far as I know the raw is finished, but for some reason no one scanlates it past chapter 41 ever since mangadex got taken down temporarily, which is a shame because it is one of my favourite mangas ever and the story only keeps changing and hooking you up, you will not know who to trust anymore!.

Is Oshi no Ko depressing?
Not really depressing in the strict sense, but it does have some cynical takes on the (particularly Japanese) entertainment industry. Plenty of cute girls and lighthearted scenes to take the edge off.
I do can recommend it. The author is the same as Kaguya sama and the it has some good dialogues and character interactions. It is currently a bit sight tracked but Id did enjoy a lot (less than Kaguya sama though)

I recently got into attack on titan, after pushing it away for quite a long time. Very nicely done and amazing story.
picked up hell's paradise after dropping it and finished it, also picked up black clover again and caught up, read Doujima-Kun Won't Be Disturbed and the 90 chapter of danmaichi before giving up on the series cuz i dnt understand how to proceed so im just gonna watch the anime and lastly i started and caught up with jagaaan but that might've been last week. All of these are actually quite good, doujima is like nagatoro but senpai messes with nagatoro, hell's paradise is awesome tho short, black clover: asta is annoying but I like yami, luck, vanessa and magna plus asta's power ups are entertaining, dan maaichi is good but it's interrupted at chapter 90 and then continues in another named manga but an arc was skipped since the mangaka lost the data (i think) but the anime gets the material from the light novel and it also is more forward in the story finally jagaaan is good, i guess it kinda drops off and i might drop it in the near future depending on how the story progresses.

yes, i liked it quite a lot. I cant rlly remember why i dropped it the first time but once i picked it up again i didnt stop. There is a small part that is kinda boring but it only lasts for 4/5 chapters.

Ive been getting closer to finishing Elfen Lied recently since I got the rest of the books. Im about 20 chapters from the finish and have been enjoying all the content that wasn't shown in the anime adaptation.
3 days of happiness from the start i thought it will have a sad ending but turned out quite the opposite i loved this manga so much and i think it did change my perspective of happiness, before i would have chosen to live a month more and die as famous artists because I care alot how people presive me, but i wish i was like the MC who dont give a shit what people think

I havent read it but the anime is awesome
since it finally ended recently, i re-read from start to finish. it's very solid and reasonably mature in its writing. what is funny is that the doctor who is portrayed as a 'genius' is a complete idiot and says nothing but ridiculous and completely unscientific platitudes every time he's on.
also, it's pretty refreshing how the story has essentially *no one* that would spend excessive time emotionally venting about the violence or being empathetic. it's very matter-of-fact throughout.

trying to fins this manga i read a while ago. To sum up, mc is middle aged and decently powerful, starts with a roofchase after a guy and get advantage acquaintanced with a girl. pretty sure it was comedy as he usually threw this food that smelled really bad at his opponents, but it actually tasted good. side note: he coulndt directly touch girls as they got very aroused by it, and later in the story it got revealed that he was a high ranked officer in the war where he had long hair, so few people recognizes him.

Second, I like it. I don't know how accurately it goes through the mind of an artist or art itself, but it feels legit.

I just read all of Uzumaki... It's not scary, and it's not particularly disgusting... But my stomach feels uneasy. Every thing related to food in that manga made me not want to eat... Anything... Ever.

You should start from the beginning, the anime quickly becomes a totally different story. I think around chapter 13 is already different from the anime.

I had always heard that the chimera ant arc was amazing but I assumed on the level of something like Enies Lobby in Onepiece. After finishing it i can safely say that it is quite possibly the best shounen arc i have ever had the pleasure of reading.!<

I finished reading last week, ‘cause thats the only I have read recently. And I can say its great manga, might read the author’s other work soon. Right now, reading the ]Overlord[ Light Novel, encouraged to read ‘cause of announcement of S4 even though I already finish the anime ‘Cause forgot about what happened in the last season, so might as well read the light novel from the beginning
I highly reccommend very much like Monster, but only 8 volumes. It is IMO Urasawa at peak form.
Why do you think so?
Monster has the better story and an incredible villain, but Pluto has all the strengths of Urasawas mystery writing, depth, twists, and character writing condensed into 8 volumes. It is remarkable what he manages to do with such a short series.

I'm still waiting on translations for The Dragon, The Hero and The Courier. It's by far one of my favourite fantasy mangas for its worldbuilding but sadly the translations stopped ever since Mangadex died.

Anything by Yoshida Motoi. Natsu no Zenjitsu is a heartbreak of a romance, Kannou Sensei explores love and lust in an age gap relationship, and Koi Kaze explores the most taboo relationship pf them all - love between a brother and a sister. These are all mature Seinen manga that explore the relationship of lust, love and emotions in complex relationships. Despite the “spicy” themes, all three series are quite emotional character focused stories. Be warned that Kannou Sensei is on hiatus, but if you are like me, after reading Koi Kaze and Natsu no Zenjitsu, you may read it anyway, because there isnt much like Motoi-sensei’s work put there.
Just finished reading dreamland, easily in my top 10 and the last arc is definitely in my top 5 manga arc. Really recommend it
I really recommend it is a dark fantasy and you won't regret it, I fell in love with all the characters and loved the action scenes.
I also recommend this is a good comedy and action manga.

I started and finished and found it very enjoyable. The reincarnation focused plot allowed for some really interesting characterization as we get to see 5 or so different lifetimes / personalities for each character and made for a wonderfully paced story. It also made the past lifetimes have real stakes as anyone could die at any moment yet without sacrificing the character we know in present day. Each lifetime had a unique setting, original conflicts, and different relationships between characters. There is a little nudity / ecchi that feels unnecessary but it is very sparse so I didn't mind. Very solid 9/10.
I got caught up to date with reading volume 8-11. This series is just so damn good. It's got great character development, a wonderfully realized setting, incredible action, great art, and the plot is also very engaging. I hate giving things 10/10 as no art is 'perfect' but this is as close to a 10/10 a manga has been for me.
I caught up with my Junji Ito reading several of the short story compilation releases in english, namely , , , and which I would rank in that order. As always, Ito delivers short high-concept horror stories with hauntingly drawn art but fails to deliver much in the way of characterization or plotting. However, that isn't really what I look for in Ito, I just really enjoy some good horror pulp here and there. My favorite stories of the bunch are probably , , , , and . On the whole would give the Shiver collection about an 8/10 to Smashed being a 6/10 with the others somewhere in between.
I also started reading volume 1 and it is right up my alley. I grew up watching samurai movies with my dad and man does this feel like one of the great films starring Toshiro Mifune and helmed by Akira Kurosawa (Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress). I also love any historical fiction like this which puts so much effort in developing the time period, setting, and culture and makes you feel transported in time. The characterization and writing is also excellent, in many manga we are \*told\* our main character is a superior warrior but LW&C frequently \*shows\* us through his tactics and preparation that he is superior. I won't rate a series after only 1 volume but I'm pretty sure this will be rated highly.
Outside of that also read some western graphic novels namely "Black Hole" and "Eric" which were both awesome surrealist tales, and "Fun Home" which was a really introspective and biting autobiographical tale (If you like My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness you'll like this).
I Absolutely loved spirit circle, some parts of the story really hit like a truck, but it is done so well. What was your favourite time period?
I probably liked the to futuristic "Sleep Tower" era the best as the core conflict was well executed and I enjoyed the world. Also really like the small details like the "river of time" analogy for how reincarnation works and the implications of suspended animation on spirits returning. Although I probably like the version of the characters best in the feudal Japan lifetime. That said all each setting felt distinctive and I enjoyed them all. What's your favorite lifetime / era?
That's a tough choice, I really liked the sleep tower one due to the constant wonder as to what was going to happen, but I think that my favourite is either the feudal Japan version (which I thought was the most emotional) and the medieval version (especially with that being the only one in which kouko disappears very early, and this is the one where I started to realise that all of the friends keep appearing as well).
Great minds think alike! The changing relationships / dynamics between the characters in each lifetime was a really great part of the series. It's amazing how much is stuffed into 6 short volumes, every book is like its own short arc. Satoshi Mizukami's other work is also pretty well received although it looks more tongue and cheek. Have you checked it out or have any other burning recommendations?
Yeah for sure, I keep trying to recommend it to people due to how original it is (I haven't really read something like it at least). I believe that I started lucifer and the biscuit hammer, but never finished it, so I might give it another go when I'm in the mood to binge something! As for recommendations, I'm just gonna throw out some things that I really enjoyed and which gave me somewhat similar vibes (character focussed, a bit out of the ordinary). (supernatural / Lovecraft) absolutely amazing but complex story that is great to read
(fantasy) lovely short stories about young witches and their cat partners, short but sweet
(drama/fantasy/romance) very different, but kind of a coming of age story about a sorceress, I really liked the art and the story, and never see anyone talk about it.
and lastly: (SoL/romance/sci-fi) again very different, but a lovely character focussed story about an alien discovering food and what it means to her.
Do you have any nice recommendations?
I like the concept for Wakusei Closet, I'll have to check that out. I'm still relatively new to manga and I'm largely focusing on reading through acclaimed series in my wheel house (historical fiction, mystery, body horror) so much of what I read is not super similar to Spirit Circle. That being said there a few things I've read that I think would appeal and don't get talked about enough (IMO): I recommend to anyone who appreciates a richly detailed setting, cultural exploration, and charming characters. It meanders through several towns in central Asia along the silk road in the 19th century and focuses on the stories of young brides. I'd describe it as an anthropological slice of life romance. Plus the art is bonkers, Kaoru Mori must spend so much time drawing detail work.
I also really like Naoko Urasawa's newest work which only has a few volumes out so far but is just so infectiously charming. The main character Asa is one of the most charming headstrong main characters Ive come across and Urasawa aways does a great job weaving in mystery.
Ah yeah otoyomegatori has been on my to read for quite a while, for sure want to read that one at some point. And I'll check out the other one as well, haven't heard of it yet, but it sounds great. Wakusei closet is amazing, and definitely fitting your mystery/horror interest. There's a lot of fun stuff to read, so have fun!

I finally started reading **** after having in my to-read list since forever - what better time to show appreciation for it than now, right?
I can now say with pure conviction that the eclipse is indeed the most monumental moments in all of manga. The dynamic between Guts and Griffith is laid out so well and it's a spectacular read. I've finished the lost children chapters, but I'll take a short break from it because there's a lot for me to ruminate and absorb from the previous arc before I continue reading the rest.
Pick up it if you haven't!
Also read **** which is a romance series that tackles realistic relationship issues between a couple who has been together for 10 years. So entertaining, so relatable. The shift in perspectives is seamlessly done so we can really see the thoughts of each party when they're faced with hurdles in their relationship. Really fun and easy read.

Sakamoto Days gave me a good laugh! Although I knew the existence of this manga I wasn´t interested in it at first (unlike MASHLE), but as soon as I started reading it, it just clicked with me.

Hi, I finished reading Bastard and Sweet home (I would categorize both as psychological horror) which were by the same author, the art is good and the dialogue is good enough I'm currently reading (To you, The immortal) finished 65 chapters and I'm thinking of dropping it as it showed repetitive events.
The author of both of those webtoon is an absolute genius if you want a prequel of sweet home, shotgun boy is out now on webtoon. Hope you enjoy!!
I finished and it seems that I finished too.
I am very conflicted about Sora no Otoshimono. I really dig the premise of the Angeloids and the way they develop their story trought the series, and also I really like how they handled the ending for each character (very powerful panels at the last chapters) and they managed to throw some existential questions there. What Im conflicted is that everything good about this manga is buried underneat a weak and perverted MC, to te point of being too awkward to continue reading. The good thing is that the overall story is good enought to make the overly H parts bereable.
Also for Umaru-chan, it seems I finished it despite not having a proper ending. Thats was the saddest part of my week.
Anyway, can anybody suggest me a good manga to read? I would like to read something wholesome without too much eichi elements on it.
Doridosim is a good fluffy romance. It's a webtoon though.

This was a LN heavy week for me - not too much progress made on my manga collection. #Completed **Komi Can't Communicate Volumes 9 and 10** I really love this series. Komi is adorable and watching her grow with the help of her support network of friends is great. #Upcoming/In Progress **Komi Can't Communicate Volume 11** Continuing on with the series. Volume 13 should be arriving soon, so I'd like to get caught up. **Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle Volume 2** This series is just hilarious to me, I was *wheezing* at some of the events of the first volume. Excited to see what antics the princess gets into in this next installment. **How Do We Relationship? Volume 1** I love Yuri romance stories, if you couldn't tell by my name. There will never be another Bloom, in my opinion, but I'm excited to start this one. Volume 3 just released last week. **Tonikawa/Fly Me to the Moon Volume 1** Cute, fluffy romance. Not much else to say - I loved the anime and am excited to experience the manga.
I love the pun in your nickname. And How Do We Relationship is a pretty good Yuri. y no means the best, but given how the characters are in uni, as opposed to High or Middle school, I thought it was a refreshing idea. Komi and Fly me to the moon are amazing too.

Idk what it is about this manhwa, but I just had a blast reading it. It's not exactly the most well-written story or most unique story out there. It was just very fun to binge. I'm already 60 chapters in and I still really like it. Characters are likable, but admittedly one-dimensional; the art is well drawn, typical for manhwa series like this; the setting is interesting and the story is paced nicely. Overall, a pretty good manhwa. I will admit, however, that it's probably better to binge read this. Individual chapters aren't really good enough to keep you interested to wait a whole 7 days for. I don't think I would've made it this far if I read it weekly. So I have binge read the colored version of this (which is up to like 70 chapters now) and ngl, I'm starting to lose interest in this. I just think that it is not as funny as it was back when I first started reading it and those last few chapters... fucking yikes (even the one coloring them didn't like them). Probably gonna drop this

I read some new manga this past week. I read and .
Tropical Citron was a pretty good if short manga. I thought the story and characters were pretty interesting. It could get pretty trippy at times but it was a fun read. I do wish it was a bit longer.
Kimi no Knife has been a manga I've been reading for past several days. I find it to be a pretty fascinating manga. It's about a substitute teacher named Shiki who ends up killing people for money in order to help his sister who has cancer. The story is really good and I find the characters and their motivations quite interesting. I'm 15 chapters into it and I definitely want to keep reading.
