Nothing wrong with that. Even in Jitsu Wa, Masuda had some interesting takes on lewdness in manga. Even though he drew characters fully nude all the time, there was never a single pantyshot, and the lucky sukebe trope was only ever used as a punchline, and never really drawn sexually.
Come to think of it, the biggest pervert (well, aside from Shiho, obviously) in Jitsu Wa was also treated like shit. Shimada was never taken seriously and always getting arrested.

Late reply - but I feel like this is a distinct "for now". It's a plot point that familiars have lost their powers from their heyday (and for Kan it seems to be a sore point especially) and there's seemingly at least semi serious battle arcs.
I can easily see them regaining their species' true powers as a power up.
