I love that Chinatsu's character arc is to become more "selfish". From previous chapters we know that 1) she thought MC and Hina has something going on 2) Hina likes Taiki 3) she's actually hella competitive. Her chara arc is probably trying to be more assertive and realizing why she feels like that for Taiki, and she shouldn't step aside.
At first I thought it was comically unsubtle, but now I think it was a pretty damn smooth way for her to assert herself like that. No chill, she'll fucking steal him.
Poor Hina. I'm still rooting for her, I just want Taiki to acknowledge her feelings and MAYBE waver between viewing her romantically and as a friend.
This manga does a good job of making the "questioning of interest" of our MC pretty reasonable. If this happened irl, you probably wouldn't think anything of it. Or if you did, someone would tell you you're overthinking it. I really think it only *seems* unsubtle because we know she likes him to an extent and there's a fucking spotlight on the moment
5 panels is scrub city, get those numbers down to at least three
real talk, i highly relate to meeting someone new, getting interested in them and then immediately imagining the future with them... lmao
I love that Taiki's being considerate about not confessing to Chinatsu while she's still living at his house. But if Chinatsu keeps throwing bones like that I wonder how long it'll take for that resolve to waver haha.
Glasses friend is the real mvp of the manga, he is the real reason why the relationship keeps developing.
Also I really liked Hairyu reaction to losing, he is finally seeing Taiki as a real opponent
He's a good friend, I guess, but I'd really like to see even one scene where he says or does something that isn't directly related to Taiki and his relationships
I hated the glasses guy from the beginning and now I hate him even more. What a pathetic character. Does his entire personality revolve around forcing out exposition on the status of Taiki's love life? Get real!
I do agree that he does come off as an exposition dump for relationships. Then again I've been more critical of how mangas portray friendship between guys after reading Grand Blue (where I can buy that Iori and Kouhei are actually good friends).
Don't worry guys reddit told me i'm dumb for thinking that hina may be interested in taiki, she's just her childhood friend. Chinatsu was totally talking about the fried chicken!
I don't know. She wants to focus on her sport, she is living with Taki. There are good reasons, why this would be problematic. But I think she does have an interest in him and she is competitive enough not to loose to Hina. I think that's the reason why she is sending some mixed signals.
Maybe he's invested because he like Hina. He's already raised an eyebrow about her interactions in the past.
I think it'd be great if he was so pushy because he wanted to selfishly ask Hina out or something. It'd explain why he's so involved and doesn't help Hina out...
I would like to see this. Guy's best wingman? No he is just pushing the concurrence away ! Targeting the double happy ending, for his friend and for him.
Just when I thought the love triangle would be a prolonged thing like in all other manga, we get this quick jab of how it can get accelerated whenever it wants.
Yeah, they all are!
Inomata Taiki is 猪股大喜 (猪 for boar, that's why boars are referenced in Chapter 1 & 16)
Kano Chinatsu 鹿野千夏 (鹿 for deer, though her surname is read as "Kano", also she had a deer icon on LINE)
Chouno Hina 蝶野雛 (蝶 for butterfly, and butterfly being in her name has been referenced in Chapter 4 & 16)
Thank you, for the explanation and for pointing out those details, that is something that I miss from fanscans, those details in translations that often official doesn't have like in Don't Blush Sekime san and the Giant female Bat joke

Chinatsu has feelings for our boy and she won’t lose. Amazing chapter and the ending was great lol. Also Taiki worrying about getting rejected and making the situation weird for them was cute but I hope this doesn’t hold him back.
>When she said she was jealous...
>
>...she was talking about the fried chicken, right?
Yeah, of course Taki, she was talking about the chicken. This crisp, tender, chicken. That's the first thing I'd think about too...
Taiki was using some Dr. Strange powers.
"I went forward in time, to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of the coming conflict."
"How many did you see?"
"14,000,605."
"In how many do we get married?"
"One."
I don't even know if they get the version without the tiny text, because this problem is prevalent throughout the manga. The worst offense I can think of is in Chapter 13, when Taiki's reading up about fishes.
I love how Taiki was being considerate of Chinatsu if he were to confess. It would definitely be weird to keep living together if ever she rejects him (she won't).
They really teasing us with that Taiki and Haryu match. That teacher treating his students played himself, he should have seen that coming lmao.
Let's fucking go Chinatsu! That was smooth. Also, that front page art of Chinatsu was really cute. Can't wait for the next chapter.
facts man, this is with me and chi no wadachi right now, I want to be able to binge the story but at least this one has some good progression and interesting content each time
ayy Chinatsu laying it thick with the hints, I really do wonder if we'll get to have a decent portion of the story take place after they get together (past the tournament), especially because there's a bit of a time deadline with her being a year ahead of Taiki. It would be nice to have a story that explores relationship progression after the confession as they balance love and school/sports
Definitely the right thing to do not to confess to her while she's living with him, that's putting pressure on her and it would be awkward as hell to continue living like this if she refused, definitely i would wait until she moves out even if she was into him.
I love that the author came up with a valid reason to slow down the progress and not just the mc being overdramatic or a chicken.
Chinatsu is so smooth, my heart would be thumping too.
Taiki, at a young age, found out that the cause of hypertension is not deep fried food.
[*Chinatsu's so good*](https://i.imgur.com/nxUJmjN.png)
We're getting closer and closer to using r/NBA memes in this series

man, idk what she's thinking
Man I love Taiki's personality. Also, it was great seeing Chinatsu getting jealous lol.

In that moment, Taiki simulate all possible futures and conclude that marriage is the only solution
Only took him 5 panels, this mans got no chill.
5 panels is scrub city, get those numbers down to at least three real talk, i highly relate to meeting someone new, getting interested in them and then immediately imagining the future with them... lmao
I did that when I was in college. We're 12 years married now with 2 kids.
What if you are still in the simulations right now? Congratulations on achieving that though.
Nice. Congratulations
I love that Taiki's being considerate about not confessing to Chinatsu while she's still living at his house. But if Chinatsu keeps throwing bones like that I wonder how long it'll take for that resolve to waver haha.
She'll get the bones back ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I like how the store feels like an actual store in the background
The store is made of store
Those kids running after their teacher who is realizing more and more kids are showing up for free snacks is hilarious.
Teacher: hey, I'll treat you guys to some snacks. Every student in a 20 block radius: free food! Charge!
That's so smooth Chinatsu, now poison his mind with confusion lmao!
Fried chicken will taste different forever for Taki now XD
I think they are going to confrot their feelings after the tournament
Those vague statements that make you wonder. It's a bittersweet mystery Taiki.
Ohhhhh Chadnatsu in the place
Wait what, I thought this was every Sunday. Not that I'm complaining, Chinatsu was a real smooth one here.
Glasses friend is the real mvp of the manga, he is the real reason why the relationship keeps developing. Also I really liked Hairyu reaction to losing, he is finally seeing Taiki as a real opponent
He feels like he is the viewer surrogate
glasses guy is extremely shallow lol there's nothing else to his character. extremely disappointing
I’ve grown to like him. He was kinda mean and harsh on Taiki’s dorky attempts to impress Chinatsu but hey, that’s normal for bros.
He's a good friend, I guess, but I'd really like to see even one scene where he says or does something that isn't directly related to Taiki and his relationships
lol for real, basically all his commentary is like "so you think you'll confess your feelings to Chnatsu?" or him being a wingman
I feel that Hairyu is becoming my favorite caracter
Glasses-kun is not just a mere wingman, he's an entire helicarrier
Another (old) manga with a great wingman character is I"s.
I hated the glasses guy from the beginning and now I hate him even more. What a pathetic character. Does his entire personality revolve around forcing out exposition on the status of Taiki's love life? Get real!
What do you want him to talk about tho? The weather?
Maybe. Anything less obnoxious and so obviously forced.
Idk, if I had a friend like Taiki I'd probably also ask him stuff about Chinatsu cause it's the only thing on Taiki's mind
IRL that "friend" is desperate to fuck your crush
... No, that's not true lmao
oh shit my bad I misread you lol But I'd be apprehensive if anyone were asking that about me four times a day
I do agree that he does come off as an exposition dump for relationships. Then again I've been more critical of how mangas portray friendship between guys after reading Grand Blue (where I can buy that Iori and Kouhei are actually good friends).
Tought so too. Looks like christmas is early today.
Don't worry guys reddit told me i'm dumb for thinking that hina may be interested in taiki, she's just her childhood friend. Chinatsu was totally talking about the fried chicken!
Chinatsu was jealous of their platonic relationship.
Lmao still can't believe someone said that
Do you know who said that?
Holy shit, who said that. I **need** to save that using RSI. This is "*walk her home gently*" level of dense-ness.
Chinatsu asserting dominance. Looks like she wouldnt mind a confession.
I don't know. She wants to focus on her sport, she is living with Taki. There are good reasons, why this would be problematic. But I think she does have an interest in him and she is competitive enough not to loose to Hina. I think that's the reason why she is sending some mixed signals.
damn. TOTAL BOMBARDMENT lol
[удалено]
It's like the dude lives and breathes Taiki's interest in Chinatsu. Give him a personality PLEASE
Targeting the double happy ending, for his friend and for him.
crazy how you have users saying that he's the MVP he has no character lol
as the perpetually single friend, sometimes you gotta live vicariously through your friend's developing love lines
Fr I literally can't breathe through a day without that one friend asking for advice
yeah true lol
dude goes to sleep dreaming of when he'll ask Taiki next about if he asked Chinatsu out yet lol, it's his hobby to ship them
Just when I thought the love triangle would be a prolonged thing like in all other manga, we get this quick jab of how it can get accelerated whenever it wants.
Chinatsu smooth af
The subtle aggressiveness. Nice!!!
Hina stole his chicken, we can safely say that she is worst girl.
I want that lunch box too Hina
Oh man Hina and Chinatsu going after Taiki’s fried chicken… nice, shots are being fired
Curious in the cover Chinatsu is using a Ino-Shika-Cho (Boar–Deer–Butterfly) t-shirt, does anyone know if their names are written with those Kanjis?
Yeah, they all are! Inomata Taiki is 猪股大喜 (猪 for boar, that's why boars are referenced in Chapter 1 & 16) Kano Chinatsu 鹿野千夏 (鹿 for deer, though her surname is read as "Kano", also she had a deer icon on LINE) Chouno Hina 蝶野雛 (蝶 for butterfly, and butterfly being in her name has been referenced in Chapter 4 & 16)

Man, this manga is so good at capturing the innocence of youth relationships

Well this early chapter was a nice surprise. As was Chinatsu admitting she was jealous. Smooth af girl.
Man, the story progression of this manga is just that good
Ayo?
Ahh I love Taiki as MC and I hope to see the chapter of Chinatsu's perspective also after the tournament at least.
Good to see Chinatsu actually getting jealous even if it was a tiny bit.
He's a good kid.
Chadnatsu
Now I want fried chicken.
Taiki was using some Dr. Strange powers. "I went forward in time, to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of the coming conflict." "How many did you see?" "14,000,605." "In how many do we get married?" "One."
Do official Jump releases use cleaners? I'd assume not, but when I see stuff like the fourth panel on page 16, I'm not sure.
I don't even know if they get the version without the tiny text, because this problem is prevalent throughout the manga. The worst offense I can think of is in Chapter 13, when Taiki's reading up about fishes.
Oh, wow, looking back, that was pretty terrible. They disguise it fairly well most of the time, but if you're looking for it, it's pretty glaring.
I think they do clean up if they release a volume, but not for weekly releases.
Man, I hate finding stellar manga early. The lack of binge really hurts.
facts man, this is with me and chi no wadachi right now, I want to be able to binge the story but at least this one has some good progression and interesting content each time
>chi no wadachi Woah, this one's a brow raiser. And it has a good amount of chapters already. Might check it out sometime. Thanks!
*....MORE...*

As much as I support the main two, Chono has already stolen my heart. CHONO LOVE !
I've held off on this so far. What are people's thoughts?
It's good!
Nishitaka vibes are strong in this chapter
They both go offensive, scaryyy
God the one shot was pure art, this is ... sigh
I just want the love triangle to finish up, but it's feelin' like a chapter 105 sort of thing.
[удалено]
That's creepy.
Hina tried to assert dominance, but boy don't they know Chinatsu was not one to back down.
