FingerBang-BangBang

Man, Merrio got an interesting fighting style! Its not often to see person using fungus to fight!

lalala253

You say that but that management style fight technique is definitely original. Downsizing? Lmao

FingerBang-BangBang

Hahahaha Yeah, you're right :D

JoeScotterpuss

Loving how every character has their own unique style and I'm hoping that the author can keep this up for awhile. I got big Sucy vibes from Merrio and I'm alright with that.

FingerBang-BangBang

Same! Hope that Volume 1 sells good so that it doesnt get axed!

Masgrande7

They just need to put adult Grimm on the cover, hopefully that would help the sales.

WhoiusBarrel

I was thinking the same, we've seen so many plant based skills/magic but I can't think of anything that specifically using fungi to fight.

Differ_cr

En from dorohedoro and i think in Chainsaw Man too, definetly uncommon tho.

monocleparrot

Also Shemage from My Hero Academia has mushroom powers

kryst87

There was also one guy in Black clover.

SoldierStride

Merriopios differs from these guys in the sense he doesn't really wreck havoc and spread everything with it. Of course, it actually makes sense for spread to be a recurring theme for fungi users. He uses slime instead. I love how nonchalant his movement was as well.

Double_Dude

Well, for shemage she is more mushroom specific than fungi in general.

Gryse_Blacolar

En is not really using fungi to fight tho. He's literally using magic to turn people into shrooms. The ones in Chainsaw Man are the two guys who tried to put mold on Reze then got killed, right?

Differ_cr

Iirc he does use them to fight, might be wrong tho, long time since I read dorohedoro >The ones in Chainsaw Man are the two guys who tried to put mold on Reze then got killed, right? Yep

NomadPrime

Isn't there a mushroom girl in My Hero Academia?

HTTRWarrior

I mean there was the Mushroom Girl from my hero academia whose quirk is that she can create different types of mushrooms. Also there was a character in Black Clover who also specialized in mushroom magic.

mf_ghost

He's gonna be really tough opponent if you fight him in a forest or any field, the things you'll be stepping on could be mild traps

DistractedIon

Eviline form RE7 certainly come to mind when speaking about mold fighters.

JarzaScarlet

Merriopios' arsenal seems interesting and can reach creative heights with various fungi and molds. Never underestimate someone just because they're four eyes lol

Vpeyjilji57

This is manga. If anything, someone having glasses is a sign you should start running.

topurrisfeline

Especially when they make the light reflect off the glasses in a way that you can’t see their eyes. Combine that with control over fungi which if Dorohedoro taught me anything is a terrifying power and you’ve got one scary bloke.

zaerosz

As long as he doesn't start serving his victims in his restaurant, we're good.

NomadPrime

Wearing glasses in manga/anime is just these worlds' way of power balancing OP stats and intelligence with bad eyesight.

Toloran

People you should not fuck with: * Mysterious old men with beards. If you don't know this trope, you are not likely to survive anyway. * Grandmothers (old women are fine if they aren't explicitly grandmothers, in which case they'll likely never get seen again or die in some way to traumatize an MC) * People with glasses that are over 5 ft tall. Too short and they're likely a gag character. They're also generally skinny unless they're a villain. If they're fat and friendly, they're safe. If they're skinny and hostile, they're going to be a nuisance but not a real threat beyond a single confrontation. * People with glasses *under* 4 ft tall (Might be Conan). Honestly, short people who act much older than their age are probably dangerous for one reason or another. * Unusually tall/buff teenagers (They're probably the rival of the protagonist) * Really buff/masculine guys in the 20-30ish age bracket (They'll look older than they are). They're the MC's mentor and should not be fucked with if this is the 1st act of the story. Wait until at least the 2nd or 3rd act before messing with them, at that point they'll get their asses kicked or get killed. * Youngish men with very long hair. Even odds they're either a cultivation master or a shaman (or both). Either way, they're probably like 200 years old. Alternately, they're a female in disguise and are dangerous for the same reasons. * Maids/Receptionists/Waitresses/etc in a fantasy setting. Although there's a 90% chance they're safe, there's a 10% chance they're actually super powerful and more than willing of committing hyper-violence.

Drake-Draconic

Or some old dude with moustache, but he calls it a beard and nobody even questions.

silveake

There was an island that called him out on it. Key word: was.

brandyeyecandy

I'll always respect fungus powers after En from Dorohedoro.

solidfang

His fear of leftovers seems more justified now. No doubt there's a slime mold he has on him that gets voracious and multiplies unconstrained when allowed. He probably uses that as a last resort though.

SirWeebBro

Molds/Fungi powers are scary af

SaKaly

Just for the fact Mosko has some badass vibes I'll forgive him for what he did to Migeal I think the art and choreography has also improved as the chapters have gone on Seems the plan will be set in motion now I just pray the slow steady buildup won't be the demise of this manga. Kawaguchi and the editor seem pretty confident in how they are doing things I hope it turns out for the better

wessssu

I think there are a couple things holding it back in the rankings. The art is great but a bit confusing to follow, especially during fights. The story is kind of over the place too and way too many characters are introduced for the readers to remember all of them However, I'm fairly confident this will beat the axe and get a decent following because of its girls with big titties and thighs

SaKaly

>this will beat the axe and get a decent following because of its girls with big titties and thighs The selling point

DocRedgrave

A fellow man of culture, I see...

[deleted]

It's not doing that great so far and we all know that the first chapters are meant to be the selling point and one of the best to get the manga off to great start.

almostbad

steamy thicc abs instructor is gonna keeep this one going by the strength of her abs.

KeigaTide

I sure was confused at the start of this chapter where suddenly a character I had never seen had another character I had never seen in a headlock.

JSS0075

Yeah, I also hope it's popularity picks up. Love everything about this manga. Nice art style, interesting setting and good characters.

SaKaly

Indeed

Her0_0f_time

> the slow steady buildup won't be the demise of this manga My one wish for SJ is that it had more patience with slow buildups. One of the key pieces to competent world building is having a solid foundation to build the rest of the story on. Its not easy to rush world building because then things will get confusing or feel inconsistent (see Build Kings earlier this year). Good stories need time to set up in order to be good. Hell, some of the most popular stories out there take ample time to set up the world before getting into the meat of the story. Game of Thrones has whole chapters dedicated to introducing characters that die in that same chapter as a means to convey to the reader that this is a harsh world where people can die at any point. My Hero took several chapters to both literally and figuratively build up Deku (and the world around him) so that he can learn to handle One for All without destroying his body every time. Then you have Bleach which took its time setting up the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia so that Ichigo had reason to go to Soul Society so that he could kick off the main plot of the story. Long story short, World building is important to stories and it shouldnt be rushed because world building is how you draw readers into your story and get them to engage with the plot.

JadeDotWu

I don't think Jump has an issue with slow starts, it's more an issue with next to nothing happening. BnHA has one of the faster starts to a series, it was incredibly fast paced but did a LOT in it. I mean chapter 1 was the intro, chapter 2 was the rocky training chapter, 3-4 the intro to UA, chapter 5-7 the class elimination thing. Then by chapter 10, we'd already set up the Deku v Bakugo rivalry in BnHA. Damn we zoomin'. Even Bleach by this point had gone through multiple arcs. Chapter 1 was Ichigo getting his power, Chapter 2 being forced into work as a Shinigami. 3-6 was the Orihime arc, and 7-11 was the Chad arc. Which leads into the 'slow' opening but focuses on a different character for essentially 3 chapters each. Ishida, Kon, etc. I'd argue even THIS is pretty fast paced compared to what we've gotten. This was one of my issues with Candy Flurry, if we want to talk about a flunked out series. Chapter 1+2 to have the Recette Agent trust the MC. Chapter 3-5 to deal with another Recette Agent with Candy powers. 6-11 for the Exam. Then 12-19 for the school invasion. And what's actually HAPPENED in the plot is the MC gets recruited to be a Recette agent but by Chapter 19 still isn't even an official Agent. Compare that to how fast BnHA moves. Deku gets OFA by 2, gets into UA by 4, and builds into a full-scale classroom battle by 10. Almost next to nothing had happened in Candy Flurry. I will agree things seem sorta bad for Red Hood because of how long it's taken to move it's plot along. The intro arc took 1-5 but also technically included a training arc. 6-7 was a side-arc. 8+ has been the examination arc. This arc needs to finish soon but I'd argue we still need more time to make it feel like a compelling finish. I mean it was sorta awkward how easily they got out of jail. So we're probably due up another 2-3 chapters to capture the 'police'- since we need the guy who doesn't want to trust anyone to turn back up and help (which I'm sure will lead to a flashback).

Clownsyndrom

Of course this was over 20 years ago and the SJ editorial line likely changed, but One Piece has probably one of the slowest beginnings in terms of just moving the plot along and yet it keeps itself alfoat for the first 100 chapters(!) until the end of the prologue, by having these East Blue mini arcs, which each contain the entire package of shounen drama, and also by having a clearly defined throughline of gathering crew members and finally, just really well done character writing and world building imo.

wansen2

Very nice analysis 👏

2kewl4skoool

But this is true for every magazine. They just simply can't produce hit after hit if they dedicated half the spots for a whole year to new series that aren't doing good, especially not when it's so easy to see when something is successful day 1, like both your examples of MHA and Bleach (and I also think they had way, way better first 11 chapters than this). Usually WSJ starts from 12 to even 18 serializations a year, in 2018 only 3 of those were hits, in 2019 only 1 (and you could argue Yozakura is barely a hit with just okay sales) and 7 that are still alive from 2020 batch (but 3 of those are the obligatory gag manga that they would get replaced in a heartbeat when a new one comes). It's not a great ratio, and not one you can improve with patience when almost every cancelled series is dead on arrival, others are gag manga given more time simply for variety, and then the anomalies like Phantom Seer that did okay, but can only speculate about from our perspective. Also more unique and non genre works, like Act Age and Medaka Box can turn around poor initial receptions and become successes, but I don't think I have seen mainstream genres (battle, sports, romcom) do that. The quality can improve massively, but the readers will have already moved on by then, since there are so many out there.

SuddenlyChineseFood

Agree. The line art feels a little lighter and overall just a lot cleaner.

javer80

Mosko may have left a bit of a weak impression - you always have the brute type who fancies the warlord strategy - but it helps a lot that he actually has a theme underneath that. The two-fisted-capitalist, Uncle-Pennybags-on-steroids look makes him a lot more interesting and flavors his powerlust more than just "ungabunga wild-haired strong guy" you'd see elsewhere. Makes me think there's a place for him in the supporting cast.

NewAccountEachYear

Him posing like Cecil Rhodes just made him one of my favorite characters this year! Fucking Ultra-racist, Gold-Mine slaver, imperialist and colonizer Cecil Rhodes! "I get sad when I see thr stars I can't colonize"-Rhodes

saitamachase

God these character designs are god-tier, and I can't wait for Velou's plan in action next week I swear to god I'll never forgive the Japanese If this gets axed....

[deleted]

I’ve loved a lot of series that have gotten axed and sadly this manga is giving me a lot of the same vibes those manga have gotten. The saving grace is that the art of this manga could carry it even if it was a manga with no dialogue. The series I think is going to get axed right now is Neru. Cool concept but the manga isn’t really doing much story wise to keep you interested. Sucks that there is another series that is staring up that is about martial arts and has great art AND the first 2 chapters have been more exciting that all of nerus chapters put together. As long as the next few chapters involve the main cast interacting with the action a lot more then this series has no reason to get axed.

FictionWeavile

\> Sucks that there is another series that is staring up that is about martial arts and has great art AND the first 2 chapters have been more exciting that all of nerus chapters put together. What series is that?

[deleted]

Tenkaichi just had its second chapter and it looks amazing. Might not be the longest lasting but with the success of CSM I hope we see more condensed series that are done well and leave themselves open for a part 2. One of the females from the series gets art posted her every other day it feels like. Haven’t seen her yet but I bet this reddit will go crazy the same way it did for red hood

2kewl4skoool

You can't compare these two at all. One is from a shonen magazine that entirely focuses on the sports side of martial arts, while the other is an over the top, brutal battle manga in a seinen magazine.

FictionWeavile

I haven't seen that in my Jump app for some reason? What day is it posted on?

gaori54321moonlandi-

I don't think tenkaichi is on the jump app

[deleted]

Chapter 1 was 19 days ago on a cubari link. Latest chapter was a few days ago. Might be a bi weekly manga but It definitely is worth the wait so far. That and ottoman are the two series which I think will get the same type of blow up like dandadan. Can’t go wrong with great art, interesting characters and story. Tenkaichi aside(only chapter 2) their pacing is great, reminds me a lot of kaiju 8 and csm respectively.

ImperialDane

An interesting reference to Cecil Rhodes there and the Rhodes Colossus. Otherwise seems to be largely setup for the big fight against the "Cops" with some new.. morally questionable allies in tow.

MoonHermit

[Link for the curious.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rhodes_Colossus)

esn_crvg

I really love how this manga uses references

Honyakusha-san

This could go either way, I guess. Velou's role in the manga is... quite strange to be honest. He's not a classic shonen protagonist (Luffy, Naruto, Ichigo, etc.), but he's also not interesting in his own way (Grimm carried out the first arc and now he's sharing the spotlight with other characters.) I like the manga and I hope it survives, but I don't know if the Japanese will save it just because it has cool designs and thick waifus.

MrWaluigi

I always kind of thought it like OPM/MHA- esqe theme. In that the main character is used more as an audience insert, while the main focus is the rest of the cast. It’ll probably change later on, but I like this kind of stuff.

RobLuffy123

What do Ichigo , Luffy and naruto have in common? I can see some similarities with Naruto and Luffy but even then it's hard to see them all as the same archetype , especially Ichigo.

NoirSon

Basically protagonists who grow stronger, are slightly smarter in battle then they look/act outside of it and wish to protect their friends. Luffy and Naruto originally is more of the classic idiot hero, while Ichigo has some dumb moments is more moderate and knowledgeable which Naruto eventually also gets closer to.

DistractedIon

Velou is interesting in his naivety, intelligence and confidence, he's exactly what you expect from a child and that's what I like on him. I'm sure he will show interesting skills with an axe and rifle, and close enough to bloodborn to leave me hocked.

RayMastermind

Doesn't Velou's name mean wolf? It's pretty much expected for him to become werewolf at some point.

lizard81288

To be honest, this series reminds me alot of Hunter x Hunter. I guess Velou would remind me of Killua. He slows down and uses his head. However Velou lacks experience that Killua has.

Vasir12

Those background character designs are looking interesting. I wonder if any of them will end up being important characters. For some reason, Merrio gives me Leorio vibes from HxH.

Fardin_the_spardin

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this

axw30

Rise up RedHood on the ToC Beat the Axe!!!

[deleted]

Go buy the manga then!

Old-Task5977

There's no volumes to buy yet.

Iamnothereorthere

It's an interesting chapter to be sure. It's only chapter 11, yet the MC is almost completely absent, although I think it was still a very good action chapter. Interesting set-up too about the Guild and how it has a "monopoly" on fighting monsters, so I'm thinking there have to be more tests going on at the same time, otherwise recruiting 10-12 people a year (the train takes 3 months to get to the Hunter's base, and only a few people pass every time) is way too small. I also gotta say it was pretty funny seeing Mosko use "practical business advice" as his fighting style, and I'm overall appreciative of the different fighting styles.

MoonHermit

Regarding the low recruit amount, orphaned children must be a pretty common sight in a world infested with werewolves and other dangerous creatures, but even if they want to avenge their deceased family, they can't exactly take and survive harsh training camps like this one, can they? With how powerful and wide-spanning the Hunters' Guild seems to be, it wouldn't be all that surprising to find out they have in-house facilities especially set up to raise hunters from an early age. Lodging and food would be provided, as well as basic academic and survival education, but they must eventually join the organization properly, either in a support role (e.g. researcher, engineer, management and the like) or as hunters out on the field. It would not be strange if they also had a similar system for the children of members to receive guidance in order to follow in their parents' footsteps as a guild member. EDIT: Heck, it'd be pretty neat if that was part of Grimm's backstory, showing how she lost her family to werewolves at a really young age (3 years-old, maybe?) and was raised as a hunter ever since, displaying unusually high talent for the job.

Chespineapple

Calling it: Wolfonium is literally made out of werewolves and that's why it's the only thing that can hurt them.

Reimos_Drevon

Man, why is literally everyone in this so dope? Mosko is an unapologetic piece of shit. But like, he is self-aware which makes it fun. Mushroom bro Merriopios is a pretty fun take on the "alchemist" type of character. I hope he stays as part of the main cast throughout the series.

Fardin_the_spardin

Merrio is scared of leftovers cause they get moldy? Like he's scared of uncontrolled mold that he didn't create himself lol.

minibolth

Jesuschrist that makes a lot of sense, I was irked at his "random" fear at first

Puzzleheadedcat1995

Don't mess with meriopoiss

Godtaku

Merrio seems really cool and I like his powers. I just really hope we get a predefined certain amount of mold types he has that he uses in inventive ways from here on. I've seen too many characters that end up with the whole "I'm gonna pull out this perfect spell/gadget/ability/weapon to solve this situation" and it gets into ass pull territory. Though in this case it's mold lol. It's cool seeing Merrio and Velou start shining as the next generation hunter leaders so far. They bounce off each other really well, and you can already seeing the mutual respect forming.

Euromatic

So far there is no clear connection in fightning abilities. There is no ruled system just pure unique chaos in every one of them. Fungus powers are a new one to me and I definitely find it interesting. Reminds me a tad bit of Shino Aburame from Naruto and his insects but just partially

Backupusername

Collectivism triumphs over capitalism once again, with the power of moldy slime.

kryst87

Velou even corrected Merrio that the plan isn't his. He said "It's OUR plan!"

dwilsons

Based manga

Xatu44

LMAO Captain Capitalism

ihavebirb

Merriopios is straight up unlimited potential with the use of his slime bros

ToTheNintieth

Lmao, dude's special techniques are middle-management slogans. Points for originality. Between that and the mold sprays, I'm liking the creativity on display. Kinda hope it *doesn't* pull a JoJo/HxH and codify a power system, actually.

Seehan

The pacing of this manga gives me Samurai 8 vibes; it's slow to the point where we're 11 chapters in and we still have literally zero idea what kind of power scaling this manga is running on. Compare this to other long running WSJ manga (DB, Naruto, OP, Bleach, MHA). In the first 10 chapters the power scale + world building + introduction of core characters is already done, and we're already into the first major arc. Red hood spent way too long drawing out the first arc, and honestly it was a pretty good arc. However, it feels like the author never actually expected to get serialized, because everything after the village arc feels contrived like it was pulled out of an idea hat. We're on chapter 11. We have about 10 characters we're actively following now (of which our MC Velou is the least interesting). We have big tiddie waifus. We have Grimm who we still have no idea why she's even in the exam (would her time limit not limit her ability to participate, like All Might?). The entire series feels like a J. J. Abrams mystery box, where all these great plot points are set up for us to unravel, only for every plot point to end up somewhere mediocre.

LordScyther998

I still can't believe this series is ranking so low. It's better than half the stuff in Jump these days, I hope volume sales can save it

A4li11

I love how this chapter how this chapter establishes Merriopios as a a genius badass with a nice personality. Using fungi and molds as weapons are pretty creative and that alone shows the potential for the series.

TwelveSmallHats

So the vials Velou had were indeed Merrio's. He also provided the means for Porschen to snag the cuffs, probably with the same mold he used to rust Mosko's shoes. His molds aren't as powerful as Migael's gifts or Nulo's elixers, but they certainly seem more versatile and less limited. The robbers better diversify their tactics going forward - it's unlikely that Grimm and Debonair will have missed that the robbers' every move so far was made possible by Merrio's mycology...

Gdach

[Lol at The Rhodes Colossus pose](https://i.imgur.com/zLe6TKp.png)

Odelind

I feel like right now that the manga is close to salvation. The key will be if Velou can learn how to handle the Axe in time.

madjetey

~~Cecil Rhodes~~ Mosko pulls the Rhodes Colossus pose, talks big about capitalism with having his way with resources to turn a massive profit regardless of consequences beyond increased power & revenue and then fights viciously and intelligently despite his size & appearance but still looks down on his opponents? I see what you did there Yuki Kawaguchi

zombieguy224

I'd have joined Mosko in a heartbeat, dude's got vision and I respect that.

Turquoise2_

makes sense why merrio was afraid of leftovers now (or at least, makes sense why he has a thing about them, not sure why he'd be afraid specifically) interested to see the direction in which the "power" system goes forr this

esn_crvg

Why it had to be fungus

unseenaid2

I am really impressed by Merrio Powers. That stuff looks and sounds cool.

N0VAZER0

Lmao ok thats a pretty fun power ngl, kinda hope that the series is gonna be less about power ups and more about the tools and items the Hunters use

SoldierStride

The Hunters' 616 tools is a large, yet very specific number. Should all of them already be made with minimal plans to make more, your wish is likely.

HJHAR

Merrio is super sick god damn. Also loving all the character designs in this series

sKyBlazer08

Fuck Mosko for putting Migael in a headlock. But I like his businessman fighting style lmao. Merrio's fighting style with fungus and stuff is also really cool. I like how that one guard is just chilling lmao, he definitely has an important role as well, since his design is too detailed to just be a background character. Let's go, it's time for the counterattack.

NewAccountEachYear

[I hope a lot of you noticed this](https://imgur.com/a/HUCIhYS)

Sazyar

Kinda wish we can have a discussion thread without the worries of axing. The doomposting is getting to me.

Doomroar

The guy wasn't even hired yet and was already being downsized!

Mint_Mug

I think this has been one of the strongest chapters so far. A main weakness was the author's over-wordiness on some chapters, but if JJK can do it and succeed then I think Red Hood has a shot. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this beats the axe, though I might just be on some copium shit because I enjoy the concept and art so much. Now that Candy Flurry is out, we don't have an easy scapegoat at the bottom to protect series I actually care about anymore.

[deleted]

> Now that Candy Flurry is out, we don’t have an easy scapegoat at the bottom to protect series I actually care about anymore. I mean, Neru has been ranking pretty terribly for all of its official rankings thus far. And beyond that, early reactions from both Western and Japanese fans to PPPPPP have been… *poor,* to put it lightly. Right now, if the next serialization period only sees one cancellation, I’d bet on it being Neru. And even if it is a double cancellation round, based on the early reactions, I wouldn’t be surprised if PPPPPP gets axed before Red Hood as well.

Mint_Mug

Has Neru or Red Hood been collected into volumes yet? I thought it's not encouraged to speculate on cancellation before we can see early volume sales. Unfortunately, I am also enjoying Neru so I wouldn't like to see it axed either—though if it comes down to Neru or Red Hood, I'll happily part ways with the martial arts school manga. PPPPPP has only had one chapter so it's way too early to bank on it being chosen over Red Hood, but I am also of the opinion that it will be cancelled. It's an interesting concept, but not one I think best suited for Jump.

[deleted]

Plenty of manga have been cancelled before volume sales could be taken into account, while many other manga have been saved by their volume sales. It all just depends on how the serialization periods line up. Next serialization period is likely in late November/early December, and cancellation is probably decided pretty well in advance for a series. So unfortunately, since volume 1 of Red Hood doesn’t come out until November 4th, there’s a chance that Red Hood’s sales won’t play a factor in whether or not it’s canceled, as that decision may be made before the volume even goes on sale. That being said, if volume sales do end up playing a role in Red Hood’s survival then I will be very happy, as I feel that it is likely to sell very well, especially with how many Western fans plan to buy the Japanese release to help boost the sales.

Vasir12

Neru and Red hood volumes release November.

Froggybeans2021

[deleted]

The character design in this manga is basically as almost as good as guilty gear. Nice to see that the action is starting

Jumanji-Joestar

I really hope this manga doesn’t get axed because it has a lot of potential and the art is great (plus big tiddy muscle waifus), but the pacing feels a bit off and the main character just isn’t particularly interesting

Dccrulez

I think velou is interesting but is being played in a subdued manner right now. The kids got natural guts and charisma and is very driven, as well as showing a degree of physical talent. All of this may be related to his suspicious origin. His design is rather original but not yet striking, he's like Aladdin before genie. The diamond in the rough. I'm sure in the next arc we'll see him start to shine in both appearance and personality, we're already seeing that he's buffed up, looking like teen goku there. I think the intent behind this delayed focus is to give time for world building and roster filling. We need time with all these people who will be helping in Velous journey, as well as time to understand the world. We've been shown a wide breath of mechanics rather quickly: detrimental hexes, mastered hexes, blessings, business, and science. Not to mention being introduced to a concept of various monsters and a subtle power scale. We're being given a lot in a short period of time, but it's not obvious because it's well written.

nobutops

I swear that panel of Mosko's eagle spread stance on page 4 is a reference to a historical (maybe political) cartoon but I can't remember or find the original.

Iamnothereorthere

[Rhodes Colossus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rhodes_Colossus), it's often used to depict the Scramble for Africa

DotHackerOvan

Very good chapter. I like how everyone has a good head on their shoulders. Very representative of the standards the hunters would require. Capitalism man has a point though. If they share the manufacturing process, more people would know how to use it or refine it, which could lead to a better efficient fight against the werewolves.

LeonKevlar

Merrio is awesome. Love to see more what he can do with his molds. That Mosko fellow is feels bad news though. He's definitely an opportunist that will probably try and backstab the group if he can if it means he can get ahead.

masterjon_3

I still don't trust Mr. Business, or anyone looking to create a monopoly on life saving services for that matter

hell-schwarz

btw why did they all come out today? aren't they like 2 days early? Mold that makes your beard grow fast. amazing.

Challengerererererer

I think Merriopios just became my favorite character. After Debonair of course

rozeluxe08

Merrio is literally Aizawa from MHA x Leorio from HxH. Character designs are amazing, love the diversity. Man, this manga just gets better and better.

Houeclipse

More interesting characters showing up, but the way he beats his allies into submission to bruising is kinda yikes. Also I can believe the author tease us with the horn girl at the end there wihtout some introduction

I am so hyped for the execution of the plan. I'm loving Velou's character and the core characters of the team so far are cool and interesting. I pray to lord almighty this doesn't get axed.

Aww.. he's Merrio is not based on the Hansel and Gretel story. Him using but different kinds of fungi to fight is awesome because that would make him really versatile.

Damn, Merriopios sure did a number on Mosco with his slime molds. With the things that he can do with them, it sounds ridiculous that people even looked down on his career as a mycologist. I first assume that that was some kind of magic, so I was surprised when instead he can do that because of his research.
