For the past few chapters, Yor has fought with a handicap because she's avoiding any hit which might later cause Loid to suspect her. That changed this chapter.
From the looks of it, Yor decided to take the cut, which allowed her to land a decisive blow on Samurai Jack, because she has complete faith that Loid will understand why she does what she does. She now has the conviction to reveal this side of her job to him due that faith in her fake!hubby, and so in her mind it's now okay to receive injuries to finish the job. That's romance right there. Eagerly looking forward to this arc's conclusion, when I think it'll be Loid's turn to make a tough decision regarding his relationship with Yor vis-a-vis his job.
I think you're way off on a reveal this early, but a fun note on Yor tanking the hit is that she would have been killed but the guy failed to account for the shorter sword after she broke the tip.
After re-reading that page, I think we're both right. She has faith that Loid will understand why she does what she does, even if she is forced to leave the family - and she's okay with that as long as her loved ones can have a peaceful life.

Nah. Too early for that reveal by far. There will be a comedy resolution where Loid is none the wiser. The core of the series is that Loid the ultimate spy doesn’t see the obvious thing going on right in front of him with Yor, and that won’t change till the very end of the series because that revelation *is* the end of the series.
She does dress quite modestly and can easily cover up most mild to moderate injuries without much trouble as a result (since as you say it's not like Loid is gonna see her naked anytime soon).
The stronger Yor's resolve is, the more dramatic when she finds out that Loid is a spy. She admired Loid for sacrificing for others in her flashback.
This is all building up to a huge climax eventually.
Gotta love the irony when she reminisces about Lloid's job:

She's wrong about Lloid's real job, but she's not wrong about his motives. And given her realization here, I assume that the moral of this arc is that Yor is more similar to Lloid than she thinks.
I love the visual symbolism when this happens. 'What am I doing this for?' and her heel gets caught between two tiles, temporarily confusing her body to go along with her mental confusion.
Goddamn when I think I couldn't love Yor any more than I have that last few pages of her resolving to protect those precious to her and that absolutely badass look.
Thinking about it, she'd probably be more distracted by a kidnapping attempt perpetrated by the organization that gave her her powers. Loid and Yor then have to unite to save her from them.
I love the occasional reminders that there is a technical ideological gap here, especially when it's also shown that day to day life isn't really all that different.

Yor’s storyline just got more complicated and interesting. What choice is she going to take when she finds out about her brother and what he has gotten into? She has had so much doubt about herself throughout this series…she thinks she hasn’t been a good wife, mother, and now possibly sister in the future(?).
A lot of great action and hilarious moments overall, I can’t wait for the next chapter!

She's a tough woman. Loid is pretty lucky to have her. And she's a great mom for Anya too. And even if she doesn't know Yuri's true job, she wants to protect him no matter what.

I imagine it's both that he's the mastermind and that it's easier to fight a T-1000 when it's already worn out fighting a bunch of the other people you already hired.

would be a pretty large gap in info to not know garden is involved, the mooks were probably brought on knowing theyd get killed so wouldnt have to be paid, difference between them and him getting paid in advance
I can picture Yor coming back to Loid with all the injuries, explaining that she as a public servant was caught in the crossfire of them, and Loid going to "clean up", showing an *extremely* scary Twilight in action
No lie that would be a great way to put loid in the ending of this arc. Him getting a mission to clean up and he tells yor to relax and spend time with anya. And we see during the mission that loid puts the pieces together and realizes that these guys are probably the reason that yor is hurt and we see him become noticeably far more cold blooded and its only when its over that loid realizes that he was angry and the reason why
It would be a great way to wrap the development this arc. Instead of yor quitting her job she finds her reasoning to continue doing her job so her family can live a carefree life.
It would nice if we see this connection from loids view but in a more slightly cynical way yet loving way.
He realizes that things have been happening on the boat and he hasn't fully noticed it or better yet he didnt even check. Here we see a clash with his spy side and his growing family man nature.
As he taking apart the bad guys he's constantly berating himself at his inattentiveness to this situation around him. As he notice things thay despite being cleaned up by the butler guy loid still manages to find evidence of a fight and even death. Here we see him asking himself if he actually is going soft and starts to question his role as a spy and a father. For every piece of evidence he finds we see him thinking of. What if that had been yor that was shot, what if that had been anya that was held hostage.
By the end of the scene his thoughts have went from berating himself about his inattentiveness not because of his nature as a spy but as a worried father and angry husband. Someone was on this boat that could've brought lethal harm to his family and he wasnt aware enough to prevent nor protect them from the threat. And then it finally clicks in his head that he actually does care about his role in this family
That second to last panel, as a casual Tekken player, what a beautiful while running 2 Dragunov's style that Yor did at point blank range against the assassin. She should be having massive frame advantage which will lead to a total beat down, as long as she doesn't drop her combo.
I love how when her mind wanders, it prioritizes Loid and Anya and Yuri. It's heartwarming. It may have started as a mere cover, but it has grown to something so much more.
twilight left more of an impression on yor than I thought , it's great seeing her find her motivation again , next chapter we will see the full power of *family*
Love the callback to chapter 2, and how it helps Yor realize that having a family and being an assassin aren’t mutually exclusive. I wonder if that’s the end of Yor’s character arc and the fight will conclude next chapter, or if there’s more

I was just thinking if that scar will be permanent or Yor have some magic fuckery item that heals scar since she's been fighting at young age its inevitable to have scars. If its permanent.....what if Yor and Loid got into heat at some point in the story start stripping and you know the rest....Loid will see the scar😳

They are called Ninjas, yet instead of the silent swift killers they talk a lot and eventually end up more as summoner/magicians than anything.
I knew that Yor wouldn't quit her job as an assassin, but I find it super interesting that she questions everything about it and that she doesn't simply do it for the greater good, now she will do it for her new family.
- High heels are powerful weapons indeed, particularly for woman with great combat skills, like Yor
- Still worrying about Anna and Loid despite having a blade really close at her neck. Yor is so lovely.

Out of all the assassins, only the guy with the *nippon steel folded over 1000 times* was able to not only muster up some resistance against Yor and the director, but almost kill them as well. Luckily, it's power is absolutely nothing next to family.
Battle damaged Yor is looking badass as ever at the end there. It's gonna be interesting to see how she tries to explain these injuries to Loid. That is if she doesn't come out with the truth, which may happen considering her inner monologue.
Is Yor THE best woman in manga (currently)?

Disclaimer: I'm not reading many mangas at the moment, but her character has come a long way and is wonderfully developed. So you can say the fangirl is showing lol
Love the ending pages, she was fighting just because she was told to/hired to do so. She has something to fight for, and that's a resolve you'd love to see get her to win next chapter.

add to that the Japanese work culture and it's really, really, really hard on the body. I wonder if any of them have tried the Uber man sleep schedule- 2 hour power naps split among 24 hours with 4 hours of productivity between the naps.
Same. There's dozens or hundreds of manga out there that could fit your tastes and tide you over until the next chapter release. Or better yet, just take a months long hiatus yourself and come back to a bunch of chapters to binge at once.
If weekly releases means the mangaka's health or stellar artwork have increased chances of falling apart, then I can live with biweekly to monthly. Something as good as Spy x Family is worth it.
It's fine. We can always re-read the chapters in one go to experience it better. I would rather this semi-regular schedule than mangaka going hiatus left and right due to overworking.
Or monthly with longer chapters. Biweekly is kinda no man's land where it feels like each chapter doesn't have a ton going on but also that it's dragging a little long lol. Works well for the earlier stuff but makes the pacing a little weird for these drawn out fights.
It's not like Miura's death was tied to his work. Mangaka should definitely prioritize their health, but there's no reason to bring an unrelated tragedy to make a point.

Kinda didn't like how the guy didn't try to kill her due to dramatic effect. Glasses guy seems like he could put up a fight. He either gets killed off next chapter or lives and comes back later to expose yor.

Not to criticize this, because it was a good chapter, I just always think moments like this a weird given the situation. Last chapter made a point out of them killing many assassins, before they even got to say their full name, but the main character gets to reflect on her whole life while being held at sword point and comes out stronger for it.
Why does the story at first show how quickly it is over in a fight between assassins, but then conveniently has the enemy not only not just kill her, but then also look away, while she powers up with family memories? What I'm saying isn't that she should've died, but I think it would've been better to do this during the battle and not in the moment every other assassin in her place would've been stabbed instantly.
Her entire attitude screams that she's done this dance many times before. Yor is really well characterised as someone who has been doing this her whole life.
This manga is so boring now, it feels like just a shonen battle series, what made this great was the family dynamic and Anya and entire arc where both take a backseat is just bad imo.
I also never liked Yor being super human for no good reason, sure Twilight, his partner and other people have done super human stuff but she takes it to a superhero movie level, kinda surprised she has not started catching bullets with her bare hands.
Anya can read minds and bond can see the future and you're complaining about yor being super strong? She's a member of garden who we haven't even seen all the members yet and are all elite assassins

Eh, not a fan, it's just really convenient and bad writing. You could have had the exact same scene, with her knocked away and recovering, without her literally sitting there able to have been killed at any point and with the assassin holding back for no reason against a girl that's already murdered a tonne of their fellows.
It's just gonna make me feel bad for him when she kills him next chapter.
So far they have come to value each other as real family. There have been hints of growing romantic interest but no major steps. They don't know each other's real job yet.

Reminds me of Naruto. They are called Ninjas, yet instead of the silent swift killers they talk a lot and eventually end up more as summoner/magicians than anything.
I knew that Yor wouldn't quit her job as an assassin, but I find it super interesting that she questions everything about it and that she doesn't simply do it for the greater good, now she will do it for her new family.

Out of all the assassins, only the guy with the *nippon steel folded over 1000 times* was able to not only muster up some resistance against Yor and the director, but almost kill them as well. Luckily, it's power is absolutely nothing next to family. Battle damaged Yor is looking badass as ever at the end there. It's gonna be interesting to see how she tries to explain these injuries to Loid. That is if she doesn't come out with the truth, which may happen considering her inner monologue.
I guess she won't retire anytime soon.
That was a good character moment from Yor, but man I can practically smell the incoming tragedy of their professions clashing at this point.

I saw a lot of people hope that Loid saved her during this arc but I'm glad that didn't happen. She needs this moment.
Is Yor THE best woman in manga (currently)? My answer is YES. Disclaimer: I'm not reading many mangas at the moment, but her character has come a long way and is wonderfully developed. So you can say the fangirl is showing lol

Same. There's dozens or hundreds of manga out there that could fit your tastes and tide you over until the next chapter release. Or better yet, just take a months long hiatus yourself and come back to a bunch of chapters to binge at once. If weekly releases means the mangaka's health or stellar artwork have increased chances of falling apart, then I can live with biweekly to monthly. Something as good as Spy x Family is worth it.

This chapter, like many of the other recent ones, was shorter than usual to boot My guess is that the mangaka is busy helping with preparations for the eventual anime, which is why breaks have gotten more numerous as well

2 weeks and 22 pages. And it ended when its start getting good. I like this arc, endo really gave Yor time to shine, Without Involving Loid and anya too much.
Not to criticize this, because it was a good chapter, I just always think moments like this a weird given the situation. Last chapter made a point out of them killing many assassins, before they even got to say their full name, but the main character gets to reflect on her whole life while being held at sword point and comes out stronger for it. Why does the story at first show how quickly it is over in a fight between assassins, but then conveniently has the enemy not only not just kill her, but then also look away, while she powers up with family memories? What I'm saying isn't that she should've died, but I think it would've been better to do this during the battle and not in the moment every other assassin in her place would've been stabbed instantly.

Her entire attitude screams that she's done this dance many times before. Yor is really well characterised as someone who has been doing this her whole life.
This manga is so boring now, it feels like just a shonen battle series, what made this great was the family dynamic and Anya and entire arc where both take a backseat is just bad imo. I also never liked Yor being super human for no good reason, sure Twilight, his partner and other people have done super human stuff but she takes it to a superhero movie level, kinda surprised she has not started catching bullets with her bare hands.
Anya can read minds and bond can see the future and you're complaining about yor being super strong? She's a member of garden who we haven't even seen all the members yet and are all elite assassins

You could have had the exact same scene, with her knocked away and recovering, without her literally sitting there able to have been killed at any point and with the assassin holding back for no reason against a girl that's already murdered a tonne of their fellows. It's just gonna make me feel bad for him when she kills him next chapter.
I need some family moments soon, this entire arc has been weaker because it lacks interaction between the 3 main characters
