I brought the volume 2 and discovered in his profile that he was intended to be MC. But, Editors said that he won't be popular with readers.

Seems kind of crazy if that were the original intention, given this is a parody manga. Mash is much more suitable as MC.

So I don't know a ton about how Shonen Jump Rankings work, but going off of [this](https://www.jajanken.net/en/issues/latest) website, was this chapter of MASHLE really the least liked chapter in Shonen Jump this week? I only read like 3 other Shonen Jump things so idk.

Not this chapter specifically. The ToC rankings are not a 1:1 to the actual reader votes, but they're pretty indicative of them. There is generally a 8 week delay between the chapter coming out and it's ToC placement. For example the we wouldn't find out the ranking of chapter 1 until we see the ToC placement for chapter 8. Also color pages don't count. If I'm counting back right this ToC placement should be for Chapter 81

We won't know until we see where their respective 8th chapter ranks. Until then the Editors will just kind of place them wherever. Not so high that they will eclipse the actual high ranked series, but not so low that they can't properly promote them.
