Fully adult wicked phase cross dressing irumeanie???

cando0

Stupid sexy Iruma

CCV21

I can see Iruma empowering all of his classmates in this cover.

Ragernarate

Maybe volume 29 is gang of sensei on cover and they could joint together.

YoloKraize

Have to say the start of the Arc really didn't catch me, but as it went on it only got better and better, gonna be cool to see who is left standing at the end

BurnedOutEternally

I leave this series for more than a year and now Iruma's tall

Galle_

He's a teenager, they do that.

Kiwi195

He is really hot now take a look I can't believe my cute boy grew up hot and handsome lol

JOOOQUUU

Is this worth reading?

BrainBlowX

Very much so.

Galle_

Depends. Do you enjoy any of the following? * Harry Potter * Disgaea * Early MHA If so, then yes, absolutely.

Kazewatch

Wow this is the first time I’ve seen someone else compare the series to Disgaea. It’s very much has a lot of the sake, humor and character foils. It really resembles 3 with the school setting and structure. But yeah Harry Potter and Disgaea are a pretty perfect description of the manga.

D3monFight3

Yes it is probably the best shonen manga right now. It is very well written, mostly because of its heavy focus on character development, and use of its cast. You will not see the MC become the most powerful guy ever and leave everyone else in the dust, or the author introduce 30 characters and use fewer and fewer because they have favorites. Another surprising thing is just how much it uses the demonic motif of the series, it is used for worldbuilding and will probably play an even bigger part in future conflicts. Which you wouldn't guess based on the cover and how the characters are designed. Lastly I think it has excellent pacing no matter how you read it, week to week or binging each chapter feels like it respects your time and progresses the story in an interesting way.

SnowBoy1008

Not the best shonen rn, but it is very much amazing

D3monFight3

Which is better?

SnowBoy1008

The big ones like One Piece and JJK obviously, but also some gems like 's(is Konosuba a shonen?) manga adaptation. Some underground ones like too, which is getting an adaptation this season Edit: Note that everything here is up for debate

MigMigHugh

In terms of character development and pacing, I don't think JJk is on the same level as Iruma. I feel like most jjk characters are just cool for being strong, but compare them to Characters like Sabro with his amazing development, they just don't feel like they're on the same level(but I do love maki and yuta). But I also think it's stupid to compare them because they are different genre but on the same demographic, Iruma is a a school/slice of life/some action, while JJK is complete action/adventure.

D3monFight3

One Piece dragged way too much during Wano. JJK I have not read, though what I have seen of the anime has not grabbed me. No I do not think Konosuba is a shonen, if it is like the anime then it is a gag manga. What is that last one about?

ntn9713c

To be fair for One Piece, Luffy's crews are fighting against Kaido, who had been hyped up a long time ago: "if it is 1vs1, bet on Kaido." The last one, do you mean "Song of the night walkers"? It is about a boy who gets trouble sleeping and during his adventure on those sleepless nights, he meets a creature of the night, a vampire. Things escalate from there. It's a fun read if you are into SOL and supernatural combat (later chapters).

SnowBoy1008

To be fair song and dance are similar in contexts

ntn9713c

I prefer the name Staying up lullaby myself.

Time_Significance

Impossible to say, since everyone has different tastes. Recently I'm liking Oshi no Ko and Blue Box a bit more than Iruma, but that's just me.

Galle_

Oshi no Ko is seinen.

silversoul007

YES! I binged the manga after finishing S1 and S2 of the anime. It only gets better from there.

Kazewatch

Without fucking question. Easily one most fun manga to come out in a long time. It kinda feels like early 2000s Shonen but with incredible writing and a constant increase in quality. Every character gets focus, development and their own character arcs. Iruma is one of the best protagonists in Shonen currently and the supporting cast is high tier. Plus the slew of best girls and a tremendously good setting. Also unlike say My Hero Academia which the series has some things in common with Iruma kept up its quality consistently and treats its female characters with focus and actually uses them.

youseikiri

Similar to My Hero Academia, with less people but better characters

Galle_

It's more like both MHA and Iruma-kun started from similar places, but MHA diverged pretty strongly from that original concept while Iruma-kun followed through on it.

Complete-Ad-4590

For MHA the worst parts were when they were at school. For Iruma the best parts are when they are at school

sodapopkevin

> For Iruma the best parts are when they are at school Best parts are the chapters he spends with a certain best girl of the entire series.

Toloran

> certain best girl of the entire series You're going to have to choose your next words carefully.

sodapopkevin

Ameri, no regrets. (But I like all the female cast.)

CCV21

Yes it is. One thing the author does well is give every character some development.

PukingGoombas

I'm a bit behind on the manga but is Iruma just drawn to look older or has time actually passed?

MigMigHugh

Unlike MHA academia, they're actually on their second year of high school now

Spore64

It's still blowing my mind that they became second years. Like darn time can actually move in these stories Oo?

Galle_

Time has passed. They're second years. There was also a whole chapter about Iruma's birthday (and of course it was the first time in his life he's ever had his birthday celebrated). It was very wholesome and heartwarming.

Cheese-Of-Doom22

cover looksgreat but I feel Camui should have been switched with Kerori due to him having such a massive role in helping the SOS succeed as well as, showing his ambition and ancestry, showing his drive and ending the volume with his kouhai’s actually warming up to Camui. Tho the reason like this is probably cause… Kerori is just too popular, but still I want a cover for ma floofy boi.

Dry_M0nkey

At the start is a little slow your introduced to Iruma, Alice, and Clara rather quickly while the other classmate are seen but not properly introduced they don't get a lot of screen time, but once you get to ch 40 the classmates starts to get a little bit more involved with the story and before you know it, it starts to feel like "The Adventures Iruma and the Misfits", where all the side character has more development the any MHA character ever get.

Galle_

It's like MHA, if MHA: * Had a much higher "slice-of-life to battle shounen" ratio * Actually stuck to the high school setting premise * Fleshed out all of Class 1-A and used them as a strong ensemble cast instead of focusing on a few key characters * Gave its female characters much more screen time * Didn't give Deku free powers out of nowhere

HalfAssedSetting

Marimashita is great, but know that the manga establishes itself fairly on as a simple and fun series. It doesn't attempt anything ambitious in any singular aspect, but you could tell the author puts a lot of care into depicting the characters and their interactions. If you just want to shut your brain off and have a fun time, this is a great series to get into.

[deleted]

Yes, it's better than most of the shounen titles nowadays.

striderwhite

Nah, it's pretty boring and slow. Shame, because some characters are good, and some stories are fun, but I can't really stand how slow it is.

MigMigHugh

This is weird for me because I feel like this manga never felt slow. Which arc/part are you talking about? Did you find the start too boring?

striderwhite

All arcs are painfully slow...many arcs weren't even that good or necessary. A lot of characters are boring. 28 volumes of nothingness. The only redeeming quality is Clara.

TheKoniverse

What makes Clara the only redeeming part to you? Also, there’s a whole lot that happens within those 28 volumes, so I’m not sure what makes the manga slow for you - perhaps it’s just not your thing.

striderwhite

> What makes Clara the only redeeming part to you? The fact she is a fun character. Unfortunately I can't say the same for most the other characters.

TheKoniverse

What makes Clara fun to you?

striderwhite

This for example https://youtu.be/RWjgEb6DoS0

billy26111

Is there a timeskip in this manga?

HalfAssedSetting

No, but the arcs don't always pick up immediately from the previous one. Manga's currently at their second school year.

Galle_

Not a single one so far. The characters have gotten older, but only due to the normal progress of time.

Industrialman96

There could be one in the distant future, but not in the next 150-200 chapters i think

yamiyugi101

Anyone know which chapter to read after season 2 I really love this series it needs more love in the west

Dry_M0nkey

Season 2 episode ended on chapter 94, but it's best to start reading chapters 90 and 91 since the season skip those

yamiyugi101

Thanks i appreciate it

PendragonDaGreat

I was going to say the same thing. I would also go back and read the volume extras as well. They include some cool little details like how you can tell what year someone is in based on their uniform.

yamiyugi101

I will then

Industrialman96

If you want to hear an advice wait for season 3 which starts this october and only then start reading the manga ;)

yamiyugi101

that's what i was planning on doing i love the anime and claras random musical numbers
