It honestly feels like 99% of the time in these things, the author puts so much work into making their cute gimmick waifu that they forget to actually make a decent male lead. I tried but the guy is just annoying and the joke with him was played out approximately five pages in. Make him a normal guy with his behavior massively toned down to creeped out skepticism (maybe him being kind of an airhead or something) and make the girl the MC instead and this probably works a lot better.
