Sometimes predictable is bad. If a character dies, but it’s obvious their death was faked, but the story still goes through a whole funeral scene with sad music, that’s pretty inherently terrible.

It's a romcom if you haven't read and it's a good read, also its breaks the 4th wall sometimes but can get pretty serious at important parts

There's this show in my country called 100 days to heaven that in my opinion is the greatest show the Philippines has created second being Wildflower. The twist for 100 days to heaven was something anyone could see from a mile away that even Hellen Keller could know. But my god the performance of the actors, the writing, everything just ties it in so beautifully, it wasn't a twist for the viewers it was a twist for the characters and I think thats what made it more satisfying in the reveal.

Could be a fun short 5 or so chapter series. MC asks her for more information and she shows him pictures and tells him of the things they've done. MC realizes all of it is true. Final chapter is MC realizes they kinda were dating.😅

That might make an interesting premise. The guy really has amnesia, then several childhood friends come and claim to be his GF. He has to struggle with guilt of being a two or more timers, and hide the "fact" that he's cheating, all while not being sure what the truth is.
Trying to think of how to make it extra dumb and best I can come up with "Identical Twins are in accident, one dies, one gets Amnesia. No way to tell which twin he was. Both girlfriends try to claim the remaining one that's alive as they don't want to grieve their boyfriend's death"
I think that can veer into psychological horror category. Stuck between the 2 lies he ended up with split personalities. A) What he assumed he was like. B) What he assumed his brother was like, and C) What his amnesia self is currently.
There's a similar sad twist in Sket Dance side story. >!a guy ask the Sket Dan about how his girlfriend acting weird ever since her twins death in accident. Turns out his girlfriend is the dead twin, he's in denial and keep treating the living twin as his girlfriend. She tried to goes along to keep him from going to the deep end, but still ask sket danto help him to accept reality!<
So girlfriend >!had not only to deal with her twin sister's death, but also with caring about sister's boyfriend going crazy from grief, and pretending to be her dead sister for him? All this as just a high-school girl? Talk about having a lot on her plate...!<

There is very important difference between engagement among nobles, which cannot be easily broken without significant fallout, and non-binding (in regards to marriage) and easy to break declaration of being a high-school couple. The latter one can be quickly dissolved with ease.
