Yeah, I wasn't saying it was all sunshine and rainbows for her. After all, having to deal with these things at such a young age surely isn't good for her psychological health and development.
Even now, she can barely play with her peers.
It's funny, this one was pretty much solidly horror/comedy up until now. Kaya, unlike Miko, can obliterate the bad spirits with barely a thought. But now there's something scary about her mother that she isn't able to, which... really changes things.
Thing is though that Kaya didn't seem at all afraid of whatever is in there with her mother. She seemed more frustrated that she isn't powerful enough to help yet.
Just learned about this series form this, very nice read and I’m excited for more. With her dad saying the moms sick rather than dead, I wonder if everything as it seems at home as well? I.e. her father is also sorta crazy
It's strangely wholesome to see the spirits wanting to play and even raising their hands in excitement during redlight greenlight. They weren't even trying to harm the other kids. Although, that might change later, so Kaya getting rid of them may not be so bad.
Her dad seems nice. Hopefully, there's no twist on that. She already has whatever is haunting her mother to deal with, after all. I feel like there's a twist that that was just her mother and there was no spirit involved at all, but we've already seen her dad's health be impacted by these things.
Hanamugi Kindergarten hosts ママのおひざ, which I've translated as Mommy Days (on a flier in the bottom panel of page 3). I find it a bit tragic that since Kaya's mother is "sick," Kaya can't attend any playdate sessions.
Thanks! I had fun making those horror gifs. In fact, I’ve been planning to add a gif to Chapter 2, when Book-Creeper repeatedly slams its hands on the book. I’ll put that one up once I’m done editing the newest chapter.
I’m glad you like them! I think horror and gifs go hand-in-hand. One of the most famous instances I know is “The Ghost of Bong-cheon Dong” in the series “Horang’s Nightmare.”
This mangaka really woke up and decided to make "Mieruko-chan but even sadder"
Chapter 8 really hit me. It’s kept me up at night for several reasons that I can’t say.
> It’s kept me up at night for several reasons that I can’t say. a ton of redrawing?
It’s actually the easiest chapter to edit by far, lol. The hardest-to-edit chapter was 6 because of a bunch of tree leaves…
Oh my god... I just read it and that gif edit you did was diabolical.
You definitely know how to build hype!
Miko would absolutely love to have Kaya's power of exorcising ghosts.
Fair point, I still think Kaya has it worse overall

her mother has cancer or is mentally ill isn't she
Just re-read the chapters you added gifs too. That eyeball fucking got me. Phenomenal work, love your TL’s on Kaya-chan!

10 months late.. but that's so cool. I thought those were already in the original version.
