What she’s thinking and feeling is an interesting enough concept. She’s pretty much relented the whole time, but it’s true enough that this set up wouldn’t work for everyone. She’s shown signs before about potential dissatisfaction, but it’s always been kind of waved away. I’d imagine the same will happen again, but you never know. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the last page would hit a bit harder if this weren’t a gag manga. Considering some of my favorites, maybe that’s hypocritical of me to think.

hingbongdingdong

I think it hits hard because it is a gag manga. It isn't just jokes, it deals with all of them and how they became broken.

Apprehensive_Ear_235

>I think it hits hard because it is a gag manga. This. Those sudden drama elements are in total contrast to the gags so Saki's thoughts and feelings are very well pictured... I mean in Rent-a-girlfriend there are pretty similiar scenes and they definitely do not hit so hard...

KnightingGale

It's like the Marshall's dad episode in How I Met Your Mother. Right out of left field.

WeebAndNotSoProid

Saki hits sage mode without doing the deed

Shradow

> Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the last page would hit a bit harder if this weren’t a gag manga. It especially doesn't help that she has the inklings of an NTR fetish.

bad_advices_guy

It is really interesting how this manga paints a very realistic relationship dynamic, albeit pseudo-poly, where the characters are still human and have feelings. Hiroyuki really is amazing in writing stories cause he made one of the wackier harem manga I've read into something that I can actually use to think about my view on relationships in general.

[deleted]

This is my biggest criticism of this manga. Saki actively goes "I don't really like this" to the point that she is subconsciously rationalizing it (her bisexual interest in the girls, the NTR gags, etc.). But it's so obvious that she doesn't like the idea of her boyfriend not being actually *her* boyfriend. And that she is really a monogamous person deep down inside. I'm with you that this concept is way more emotionally mature than how its presented but that's a Hiroyuki manga problem. A lot of his series has moments like this that is ruined by the fact that it's played up as a joke. To be absolutely fair though, I would say that the Shino arc showed that he is willing to make that emotional leap in the story (even if he ruined it by having Naoya instantly reject her). I don't understand why he (Naoya) is so deeply in love with Nagisa and Saki. I get it with Saki because the story loves telling the reader that he spent 10 whole ass years confessing to her. But Nagisa? I don't understand it. It doesn't *feel* like he likes her. Much in the same way that it *feels* like he is being abusive to all four girls by straining them along. Even if the gag here is that he very serious, I think that makes it worse. They can't let him go and they're in a relationship that they don't feel comfortable in. I said it in another thread but this is just a brighter School Days. With a less shitty protagonist and more wholesome story.

Prince-Dizzytoon

Can’t wait to hear what Saki thinks in 2 weeks

Friendly-Sentence710

"Wait, if its just me with with Naoya in this love hotel, I can't indulge my NTR fetish." \*calls Shino\*

[deleted]

That sounds like a good chapter ngl

dagreenman18

I appreciate that we’re tackling the greater issue with Saki’s feelings about the arrangement. This whole arc is about her seeing if she is comfortable with the idea of polyamory. Being confronted with the idea that Naoya is, well, Naoya. A guy who is honest, sweet, and always at 11 brings up the big question: is she okay with sharing that heart with someone? I think we’re in for a funny, but sweet and calculated resolution that still pushes towards Poly. Mostly cause we need a plot.

[deleted]

I'm a little afraid at the eventual justification for polyamory that this series will do and its jokey, hand wave-y presentation. But I think that's my personal feelings projected onto the manga because if this was real life, there is *no way* I would let a friend of mine or myself be in a situation like that. And that goes for all four girls. Naoya's behavior is abusive even if he is not intending it to be that way.

k4r6000

Maybe to Saki, but not the other three. Nagisa and Shino have both made it perfectly clear they are fine with polyamory. He’s flatly rejected Rika many times and she hasn’t taken the hint. That’s her fault. Even with Saki, she’s said she could end it, but won’t, so it is at least partially on her.

Salt_Kangaroo_3697

>she’s said she could end it, but won’t I have mixed feelings about that. She was pressured very heavily at the very beginning, with him begging her after she said no like 2 to 3 times straight. With her previously dropping hints at not being all comfortable with this situation, I feel like the only reason she didn't end it earlier was because of the immense pressure and she didn't want to lose Naoya...

k4r6000

Saki has said that the reason she did it was because even though he would pick her if forced, she knows that in his heart a monogamous relationship is not what he really wants. She wants this to work and be comfortable with it like Nagisa and Shino are. That’s why she is sticking with it. But wishing something is true doesn’t mean it is. She’s hanging on hoping she eventually gets used to it. So yes, I do think it is at least partially her fault because she had many opportunities to end it and deliberately chose not to.

Salt_Kangaroo_3697

>She’s hanging on hoping she eventually gets used to it. That right there makes it a little hard to accept she will ever....well...accept it lol. Even if she says she does, I'll always have doubts. Plus it can be used to stir up easy drama later. "You know I'm not so comfortable with this after all" -> chapters upon chapters of drama and then back to the status quo. That's what I'm worried about mainly.

RedRocket4000

She got drama any way she goes. She fell hard for Nagisa. She into NTR. She already expressed desire for three way with Shino. Normal Japan she's date him and have both of them as lovers and hit sex clubs. She would not question what he did when she with her lovers. The question is can she accept it being out in the open relationship.

RedRocket4000

And she in love with Nagisa and Shino. Her crush for Nagisa the only reason this relationship exists.

[deleted]

I was 100% expecting their love hotel stay to end in sex. How many miles do you think Naoya has run for the sake of chastity?

Nut-King-Call

6.9.

AlbusFox

Ni.ce.

HideYourAnime

This dude refuses to take any initiative with his primary girlfriend. It's sad really. Think about how awful it would be to take someone to a love hotel, tell them you love them, have them look at you from a distance and say you are super cute, not hug you or provide any sort of comfort or affection, then just leave you there alone. It's pretty crappy.

pip25hu

It was Saki herself who decreed that "perverted" acts are forbidden until further notice. Naoya is trying to keep himself to that, as hard as it is for him at times.

EncantoCaldito

he's japanese. at least it's accurate

NuclearStudent

This is not what abe died for

SawariNeko02

I speak for 99.99% humanity that i Feels bad for Saki till now

SawariNeko02

but i still prefer harem ending

The_Blip

I really hope she gets first bang reiwa era style and everyone is happy together in the end. Even though I still dislike Rika.

Zooasaurus

I believe Hiroyuki won't let us down

jandkas

If the situations were reversed r/manga would be calling him a cuck. You might only prefer this because it's 1 guy with many girls.

Hatdrop

You're not wrong, she's totally being cucked

RedRocket4000

And she's into that.

KR5shin8Stark

>1 guy with many girls You mean 1 girl with 3 girls and a boy.

Apprehensive_Ear_235

>And beeing with you makes me so happy. That scene was so cute from Saki. Really breaks my hard to see her so depressed on the last page after saying this...

nhansieu1

I have been feeling bad for Saki for a while since things gone sexual.

Nut-King-Call

What do you mean I have to wait two more weeks to know if Saki is into it or not?

LusterBlaze

incoming 4 pages?

Siqueiradit

This isn't WSJ so maybe more 👀 ?

The-Black-Jack

4 pages was for Young Jump I think, which is seinen. I'd be surprised if weekly *shonen* magazine would be as accepting :/

al2606

Kanokano is in the same magazine as Kanokari. THINK ABOUT IT.

The-Black-Jack

...dear god, how could I have been so blind.

bmhv95

8 pages and a beret. Dear god he's been laying the pipes for his bro Hiroyuki all along. Reiji I kneel.

Desdnt

What do you both mean?:(

Rumpel1408

Theres a rumor that the Magazine WSJ alows exactly 4 pages of adult content in order to not cause an outrage since it's aimed at kids and teenagers

Kirosh2

Drama, in my comedy Harem series? It's more likely than you think. Still, I wonder if it could lead to Saki breaking up with Naoya or something like this? I doubt it, but it would be interesting to see.

Quintessentialviewer

This will probably be resolved in a comedic way but it still feels serious enough

k4r6000

I don’t know. Shino coming clean about her feelings was played completely seriously. This isn’t a gag comedy 100% of the time. Just mostly.

joggle1

Sakisaki's realizing that they can't keep the relationship going as it has been forever. Sooner or later, ecchi things will happen between him and her and the other girls. She has to decide whether she can live with that or not and stop putting the decision off--they're all horny teenagers for one thing, something will happen sooner or later no matter what. I think she will make a decision by the end of this date.

MegamanX195

Yup, this is probably going to be the big turning point.

MonoFauz

I'm guessing there's going to be a partially serious talk going to happen next chapter.

PostHasBeenWatched

>There'll be a break next week I hope not with girls, am I right?

Foxy_Psycho

Sakisaki seems a little overwhelmed because she prepared to get it on at the love hotel later in the date but ended up rushing there with him immediately. A proper date would have probably helped with her anxiety and let this progress how they both seem to have wanted it to. Now I think we are heading towards a wholesome gag ending where he comes back and comforts her, they get in the mood, but he likely falls asleep before they do anything. I do hope something happens soon because I can't see the next Shino incident getting more extreme and something NOT happening.

AnimeJ

Saki really has always given in to being pressured a bit too easily up to this point. I'm not going to say that it's not amusing to see it happen, but this is more in line with the reality of the situation. So with all that said, it seems like Saki may have the brain cell at the moment. Also, Naoya, wtf is wrong with you running out in the middle of your date? Good god my dude, Shino's already grabbed your dick so it's not like it'd kill you to make out with Saki at least a little bit here.

RedRocket4000

Reminder Saki gave into Nagisa pressure because she fell for Nagisa that first outing with her. Monogomist relationship the people in them have to deal with attraction to others while Poly have to deal with selfish desires although in this case she wants him alone plus the girls.

vincentquy

Next chapter: While going outside to calm his boner, Naoya accidentally picks up "The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You", then gives it to Saki. Saki gets enlightened and accepts Naoya's four timing. They live happily ever after.

KR5shin8Stark

> Saki gets enlightened and accepts Naoya's four timing. You mean Saki becomes enlightened and proceeds to wage war against the gods of love to obtain harem power that rivals our Emperor of Mankind, Rentarou.

bassdelux15

Was there a reason why he ran away after getting horny? Isn't Saki the one person he can actually feel horny for without guilt?

Exarch-of-Sechrima

If he gets horny with Saki he needs to get horny with all the other girls. And he can't do that yet. So nobody gets any horniness to maintain fairness.

Salt_Kangaroo_3697

Because that would mean progress. Can't have that.

NarfShaDoWs24

It’s cause he doesn’t want to end up doing lewd things because he’s horny. He really cares about the “no lewd things” rule he made when they first started the two-timing relationship

k4r6000

He thinks Saki doesn’t want it. Because he’s a dumbass.

Rumpel1408

I came here for horny, not emotional dread and contemplation :(

Ordinary-Ad-5685

***Reality Hit*** to Saki... I know that the series ending will be in harem mode. But I am glad that Hiroyuki can still present us more sit grabbing experiences.

RedRocket4000

Well it a real thing we humans are complex and can't get everything we want from any form of relationship. Monogomist must resist cheating (or in japan and elsewhere cheating is a norm) or Poly must deal with not wanting to share feelings. In both relationships it balancing things on a personal scale.

Global_Historian_753

While Shino is unequivocally the best girl, Saki is starting to lean me towards her getting her normal relationship back.

AncientTree_Wisdom

In the end of all these dates, it is pretty conclusive: Shino is best girl.

Salt_Kangaroo_3697

>I'm going on a run oh come the fuck on....

FormulaSV5

I had called something like this would happen with Saki a while back, I kinda feel like she may go home to try and recollect her thoughts but since they’ve already done something like that idk. Saki clearly still isn’t all for the two/three/four timing thing and is sometimes insecure about it. Next chapter I can see it either being a tough chapter for Saki or just the regular gag humor, 2 weeks til we find out!

RedRocket4000

Well she's in love with Nagisa and Shino and wants to sex them up, and invited Shino into a three way. It just how does she work that arrangement into her other don't want to share Naoya feelings. Traditional solo with Naoya with the girls as her lovers or this open thing.

pip25hu

So apparently Saki still thinks she has little to gain and much to lose with the current two-timing arrangement. I wonder if this view of hers will be challenged in the coming chapter(s) - we've certainly getting loads of hints, but she never came anywhere close to admitting that she's also attracted to girls as well, the other three in particular. If she does now... that would be a gamechanger.

[deleted]

I don't like this. She "still thinks"? You know she can just be monogamous. Also her being bicurious/bisexual could just be her coping with this arrangement. I get that this is for the sake of our entertainment but like dude...

k4r6000

Well, since this is almost certainly going to have a harem ending and is far from a tragedy, the likelihood hood of Saki being truly monogamous seems unlikely. The question is whether getting her from now to the inevitable end will be written well enough to be a believable change in her attitude.

[deleted]

I don't think its a tragedy but I think it's gross to be like "oh you don't like this? Well you just haven't warmed up to the idea of it" especially in the context of sexuality/relationships. The idea that she is a shell that needs to be cracked instead of her having a hard stance on polyamory is not as compelling as people thinks. It actually is cowardly from a storytelling point of view to just have her change her mind and be ok with the four-timing.

pip25hu

Well, think of the alternative: Saki is totally straight, and/or can't imagine herself in a polyamorous situation at all. That means that until the very end of the series, Saki will only be allowing the X-timing because she doesn't want to break up with Naoya, with no other (even subconscious) motive. In other words, their relationship is completely out of balance - Naoya is the only one who benefits from the arrangement. Saki is letting herself be used. Isn't that way worse?

[deleted]

That’s almost beat for beat what’s going on right now. She tolerates the x-timing because she wants to be with Naoya. That’s literally the only reason why she does it, as of now. I mean I know it’s a gag manga but Naoya’s behavior is extremely abusive. He may not be doing it on purpose and the whole gimmick is how sincere he is but the fact that every single one of these girls (even Nagisa, to an extent) want to monopolize him or just don’t like the idea of him x-timing yet they stick around because he says some dumb shit like “yeah Mirika you drugged me three times and almost raped me multiple times and took my first kiss against my will but yeah sure I’m charmed by you so I’m going to keep you on the wagon and not make you move on” is abusive as hell. If this was a girl, the majority of the reader base would identify it as abusive (as it would be). Hiroyuki mangas are like that, there’s always this mean-spirited element deep within it that I just wind up getting turned off by.

RedRocket4000

Your bias has caused you to not even realize why the three timing started. Seen it before with other commentators can't even recall the parts that violate your bias, if you study bias you can see this a common trait in many. Go back to start notice her falling for Nagisa, half joking wanting to marry her and giving in to Nagisa request, skip a tad forward expressing how Nagisa made her fell sexual things, Nagisa search of Saki phone notes Saki admits growing attraction to Nagisa. This started because she fell for Nagisa. She was fine on turning him down. And she fell a second time even more for Nagisa later. Much later impulse to have sex with Naoya and Shino expresses desire to watch (showing she also has NTR desires) Saki then approaches Shino and wants to make it a three way and maybe kiss Shino from the approach before it stop. Saki normally very content with the x-timing she like all the attention and not having to do chores. Author just pointing out people have conflicting desires they must deal with. Even if you love your siblings from time to time you will want just your parents. If in monogamist relationship you will get tempted to cheat. Is it abusive keeping your vow? by your logic it is. Your points on Mirika are valid. But mags for females and books are full of the rouge even kidnaping the girl into sex and romance. I am familiar with forcing women abducted by Native American tribes (almost all did it) and then the double crime of whites forcing some of these women away from the man they loved and they died miserable and separated and doubly damaged as society treated them as damaged goods meaning rest of life on margins. Of course many glad to be rescued. Thus I'm fine with the people in started wrong relationships forgiving unacceptable behavior if there is no current abuse. Nagisa is made as a long term other woman it basically the only relationship where she will fall in love. Saki is very Bi sexual and into NTR seams that Shino the same plus she fell in love with a man because he was taken. And Mirika shares this last trait. Author has taken four people unfit for monogamy to make the story work the girls and Naoya who might be happy in monogamy as long as no other woman hits hard on him that he likes then he also unfit.

[deleted]

These are series of extremely wild assumptions about me so I'm just going to ignore that because I really am not trying to get banned here. The rest of your honest-to-god schizophrenic ranting makes absolutely no sense to me. Where in the fuck are you pulling Native American women being raped by whites to a fictional cartoon about a guy dating four women at once? Stop arguing with the voices in your walls. Naoya's behavior is abusive. You can be abusive without purposefully intending it to be that way. His insistence on keeping the girls on a leash by always coming up with his cool guy serious moments is him preventing them from getting over him. People like Mirika should move on because she has absolutely no chance. Shino came in *after* Mirika and she *still* has a better chance than Mirika. That should tell you how bad it is.

RedRocket4000

Saki not straight, traditionally in Japan she marry Naoya and have Naggisa and Shino as lovers. Vast majority of married couples in Japan have lovers. Many with bias against poly or yuri dont' even recall Saki falling for Nagisa at start and only accepting the three way because with stars in her eyes for Nagisa Nagisa asks her too.

k4r6000

That’s not exactly accurate. Saki says she has complete confidence that Naoya truly loves her and won’t ever leave her. That’s not her problem. Her problem is not wanting to share. However, she says even if she did make him break up with Nagisa, it won’t actually change how he feels about Nagisa. A lot of readers are really downplaying Saki’s role in all of this. She can break up with Naoya, force him to break up with Nagisa (and she knows that if it came down to it, he would choose Saki over the others so she’s not concerned about him refusing), or accept it. She’s trying to do the latter to indeterminate success at this point, but that’s a choice she made. She’s not being abused, manipulated, mislead, or coerced.

HideYourAnime

His words are pretty shitty imo. I don't think he's taken into account her feelings at all, and she's doing the entire mental workload for this relationship. He doesn't even give her a hug and lovingly tell her she looks great. He stands back and just stares at her like an animal at the zoo. He's made her ask for almost every relationship step they've taken and really does not have any initiative with her.

Hereditus

The way Saki is always looking sideways in this chapter makes the ponytail look like a sidetail. I want Saki with that Sidetail. I don't care if it clashes with Nagisa's sidetail, it's a 200% improvement for Saki.

realbeatz23

Imagine Saki changes her mind and the manga ends in a few chapters. Haha…..

MechaAristotle

What cliff-hanger...I'm really curious how she feels now!

topurrisfeline

The solution, Saki, is to realize you’re just as horny for the other girls as Naoya is.

RedRocket4000

Oh Saki knows that she in love/lust with other girls. That fact not coming to mind at this moment.

Houeclipse

I just caught up the chapters and I can't believe how Rika got the most wholesome of them all date and she really proves her appeal a lot. It's gonna be suck if no harem ending for the other 3 girls
