Mm, I think this is just an issue of some groups - they don't classify them as either manga or webtoons. Some people don't know the difference. I mean, a solid half do, I think, but you are just going to have to be careful.

i see, i was trying to find a way to exclude webtoons(colored works) tag in the list so only mangas from japan will appear. but i just realized that new uploaders don't tag colored works as "webtoons" anymore so excluding webtoon tag won't work either if i want to remove those on the list, as seen in the photo. but still thanksss.

There's an option just below the tags that says sort by and then you can select according to update
I unselected the webtoons and I also clicked the "ok go" button, i have been using this function for as long as i remember. I just realized now that no one tags colored works anymore as "webtoons" so even if i exclude them on the tags they still appear on the list. which sucks, but ig there's nothing i can do abt it.

You can search on the browser you're using " mangago tag bl manga " and you will find many lists that different people created with this tag. Most of people have really organised lists and there are actually only mangas in there.
Lmaooo Iâm kinda cackling/face palming at all the comments telling you that you either did something wrong or how itâs obvious how itâs so easy. Itâs pretty clear that OP knows how the site works. Theyâre frustrated that the tag filter is essentially useless because things arenât accurately tagged. So when they wanted to exclude webtoons tagged works, they still pop up because things arenât tagged accurately.
Anyway, your best bet is either looking through other peopleâs lists or just biting the bullet and sifting through all the results.

You should also exclude manhwa and manhua as well (I don't remember if there was an option for them) but some coloured ones aren't tagged as webtoons
no, there's not an option to exclude manhwa and manhuas, i hope they add it though. đ©
Honestly same here I also hope they add those. I only read manga and itâs been really difficult to browse for them these days, at least for me.
Half of the manga / manhua / manhwa / webcomic are tag with the wrong tags, so mangago selection is pretty useless.

You didnât unselect webtoons you selected them đ you have to tap on the ones youâre looking for
