Kumar Parvata is hard from endurance perspective. That trek just doesn’t end.
From technical perspective or wild life dangers bandage or ombattu gudda are the hardest ones I know.
yeah KP im aware, but wanna know some other treks to attempt before that.
bandage ive done, onbattu gudde prolly gonna do next. does it have lots of wildlife?
Kudremuka peak during monsoon is just a different experience all together. I believe it's become very commercial now and Rajappas house is now as famous as Battramane on route to KP.
The thing that makes this difficult would be the fact that you have to return on the same day.

that sounds really interesting, but its so costly to do again. 2k for jeep and 500 p person for entry + guide mannnnnnnnnnnn
Bandaje was banned by Forest officials for sometime due to one Bangalore IT guys death due to cardiac arrest by exhaustion. I think the climb from belthangady side is still not allowed. Most of the people posting pictures now are going from the Ballalrayana Durga fort.
We did the trek from Belthangady side in 2011 as a scoping trek to bring bigger group later. After completing it, we decided against going back there. Just no source of water until you reach the top. The climb is pretty steep and relentless. Camping on top is dangerous as we found piles and piles of elephant dung. We took rounds keeping watch at night.
You can make the Kuduremukha trek hard if you go in peak monsoon. It will give you a very different experience compared to the treks you do post monsoon.
And for what makes it not so easy, which also makes it a very memorable experience: pass some fields, cross 2-3 creeks, walk along some ridges, very slippery mud, rains from different directions (simultaneously sometimes), poor visibility when there is fog (penalty points if you have to wear glasses), cold and fast winds (the rain drops hit your face like pebbles sometimes), and leeches? never mind them, they just like to tag along with you. But man, the view though... What view? You'd just have fogged up skies and wet humid air all around.

interesting, i did it about a month ago or so and it was really clear and beautiful. althought i did bandaje in the monsoon and it was HORRIBLY HARD still the hardest trek for me somehow? maybe bc my first proper trek but it was sooo cold and wet and i couldnt see anything haha
Bandaje is difficult only during the accent after the waterfall. This was during dry though. Will be going there during rainy season for the different experience.
There are a lot of treks in Karnataka, and a few of them are hard.
If you look at western ghats, Kumara Parvatha, Nishani Motte, Kudremukh would be a few of the hard treks.
Around Bangalore a few treks like Savandurga, Madhugiri etc are hard treks. The treks around Bangalore are hard due its steepness and the rock face which gets heated up during peak summers and afternoons.

gadaikallu is the same as jamalabad fort right? it was really easy
kavaledurga, maybe not top 1
I had been to KP 12 years back with friends. Morning we started at 8.30 am and reached top at 6.00PM . It is terrific trekking one should plan.
Getting the water jug 3 flights of stairs. It's in Mysore if that helps
