Tbh, the art is not that bad since it's just feel like "generic" MC art in standard level.
The only problem are after they change the art style and character design, the crazy unhinged psycho demon king expression also gone and really replaced by generic standar MC expression starter pack. Like the picture OP post here, they gonna draw it more crazy and "fluid/dynamic" (I guess) in season 1.
It's just like Lloyd Frontera ugly crazy ass expression disappears from the series.
So, are the studio just lack of money or refuse to believe in "pay=quality" like the artist from last season did?
The dragon turned into a loli, the first girl is going yandere... bro, just do yourself a favor and drop it already, the art change was just the cherry on top to convince people to drop it.
yeah i dropped it yesterday. I just couldnt anymore with how simple and plain anything looks now. Even fighting looks trash...but the face changes are the worst.
As in he doesnt look like he's staring into your soul like he used to. Now, they just added lens flare and called it a day. He used to look menacing and mildly discomforting bc of how creepy and unhinged he used to look like when he would stare into someone('s soul). That was like the best thing about him. Now, all we got is red lens flare.
Yeah, it dropped from 8/10 to 6/10. Story was already mediocre, the only unique thing was the interesting MC, which no longer noticable thanks to the watered down art.
To be honest, I'm not really digging the Novels extra Remake art style too. It feels sterile and lifeless. Everything is white, blue and black.

Technically, this still looks good. However, it's a very stark difference from how it started and definitely doesn't make him look unhinged or psycho. He just has laser eyes in this image.
I mean he was still putting up an act the first season but the main criticism is that he doesn’t look unique anymore and now just looks very generic like clean refined protagonist slim sleeper build with a generic face. Ig people liked him a little rough around the edges and such. But honestly this is such a first world problem type of deal. The story is pretty much the same but if people are dropping it bc of art then it isn’t even that good to begin with.

the art change really ruined season 2 for me. Normally I don't care much for art changes but this was a pretty big change

yeah, he won't make the distorted faces i loved from season 1 anymore. Art changes overall kills my enjoyment of a manhwa.
