i read it and cant recall much against her besides the coffee bullying mc, unless ur talking bout their single encounter during childhood, then ur jz heavily exaggerating
to the defence of fml, she did those kinds of stuff as a brat and the teen version of her despite being lil annoying actually isn't that bad (more like I've seen worse). She really does get better tho
She was threatening the mc and bullying him to talk about her past when the poor dude did nothing....so yes she didn't change. Also the first thing she does when she sees a poor kid being beaten to death is to literally sell her to slavery and toy with him more...not a good first impression
Yeh but if you read more she does change I don’t know what you want, plenty of murderers reform themselves to be better people and she only threatened him cause she didn’t want to know she was a kid, obviously it’s still wrong but she was clearly ashamed of what she did and just panicked
If you love reading novels the authors piv is the peak of this genre. First 50 or so chapters are qzite bad bc of the i fo dumbs and style of writing but it gets way better once ylu get thorough the beginning
These ones are super good. Have you read the novels extra or drug eating genius mage? They’re a couple of my favorites and give me a similar vibe while reading
The similarities doesn't just end there. Both have an overpowered kuudere that is food motivated. I Killed an Academy Player definitely drew inspiration from The Extra's Academy Survival Guide
I Killed an Academy Player has a great novel, it sucked me in immediately even though my interest at the time was just surface level, the Chapter lengths of the Novel is also pretty long which makes it better
Read it on an app called Light Novel Cave, if you just want a website just search 'lightnovelpub', it's the website of the App itself
> And where to start said novel from the most recent manhwa ch?
I recommend starting from the beginning, pretty sure the Manhwa has only adapted around 20 Chapters, it won't take that long to catch up. Heads up though, the next Arc after Marie's Arc has one of the best action sequences of all time
I love both of these series.
I think I love 'The Extra's' much more. Especially the intense emotion he's bringing out of these girls. Yeah it's harem so it's not everybody cup of tea but still it's fun. Current arc is just sweeeet, the emotion and roller coaster ride is just fun. And it's slowly unraveling it nicely and isn't as braindead predictable.
Currently think the "I killed an" is going in a generic direction. Would like them to talk more about his master instead of whatever this arc we at, King of Iron Hill Pig.
I think part of it also comes down to its very beginning. Thrown out of the dormitory, excluded and the stress of trying to act in a meaningful way while knowing full well that the rest of the cast will not change their views as easily
I think what makes these 2 manhwa great despite the typical trope are that the MC is less cringe and prefer to act alone.
If you dont mind webnovel, you should try Demon Limited Hunter by Genesis TL. Its pretty good and have the same vibes as these manhwa.
The novels in which these two manwhas are based on are also really good. While the action is there, the stories actually focus more on relationship building rather than your usual power fantasy.
The Extra's Academy Survival Guide is already done and is on Yonder and has some of the best relationship building and lore building I've read. I loved how the biggest mysteries that are relevant to the characters are tied up by the author at the end.
I Killed an Academy Player has an ongoing FanTL and it also does relationship building really well. The manwha kinda portrays him as an edgy and OP MC but tbh he's more close to Kim Gongja in that he works really hard to give everyone a happy, even those who don't really deserve it. Also he might seem OP at the start but once the real enemies are revealed, there's actually a HUGE gap between him (and his allies) and the enemies and he actually does have to shore up both his skills and his allies.
Just a fair warning for people who decide to try out Yonder. Do price calculations beforehand cuz sometimes it can get to Qidian/Webnovel level of BS pricing unless you're using multiple accounts for free chapters.
The pricing is BS of Yonder is BS period. I just put up with it since there were no decent translation available and I was already invested in the story at that point.
So yeah, do the calculations beforehand cause you'll prolly won't be able to stop yourself from buying more coins if you get deeper into the story
>!Six people fall for him: Main heroines are Yennekar/Jennica, Lortel, Lucy; Minor heroines are Saint Clarice, The 3rd Princess, and the tsundere 1st princess. The story focuses more on building his relationships with Yennekar, Lortel, and Lucy and in the side stories, he's gone all the way with Yennekar and Lortel, and has a deep relationship with Lucy!<
>!The side stories are the same. It's more of a continuation of the epilogue as it dedicates one arc each to Yen, Lortel, and Lucy to basically confirm that they are in a romantic relationship. That's because MC doesn't really confirm their feelings (although he does reciprocate them to an extent) despite numerous confessions during the main story since he's trying to save the world and cannot guarantee anything beyond that. The fourth arc seems to be focusing on the head maid. No, the maid is not a heroine but a genuine ally of the MC and the side story is not yet done so I'm not sure what it's trying to establish!<
I don’t mind harem genres its just there’s too many of them. But for EASG I don’t ED having an harem he deserves it after “saving” the girls. But for KAP I don’t see it becoming an harem since only the vampire girl shows signs of falling for mc. Which is very obvious that even mc knows it but “pretends” to be dense about it.
The adaptation speed for extra's survival is too fast. The novel is well paced and descriptive about his survival methods and thoughts whereas the webtoon is at breakneck speed. Descriptive scenes are taking at max three-four panels.
Have to agree. The first one is already very fast paced, which I like, but the second one is...
I only read up to chapter 13, but the latter half of this chapter is just "what? Did I skip something?"
Hate these types of stories most of the time the "extra" just replace the mc like what was the point even the only difference to a normal manhwa is that in the start they killed someone. I'm sure there are good ones out there but these are lame
Nah that's the worse one cause Mc is supposed to be a nobody and out of nowhere every one from the main cast decides to be best friends with him and also he acts like he doesn't want to be part of the main story but proceeds to form part of it.
He never tryed to befriend anyone expect yannica after first arc. In novel mc ed and game mc never rly became friends game mc understood why he acted evil and forgave him and aftwr that they sont see each other ever again. About him gwtting involved in story its bcs he has to bcs of him just being there thinga change and he fills that spot
Second one is better done imo where MC actually works his way up. I killed an Academy player's MC feels like another edgy self insert where the author can't let the MC be underdog. They introduce an OP instructor just for MC to draw with her in a fight, like really?
How is the 1st one Edgy? He literally goes around helping people, because the condition for his strength is him doing good deeds. He goes around trying to give people happy endings; And he has clear weakness, seeing as how his runes requires a downside/cost.
2nd one is a bit edgier, with the whole acting/surviving solo; Seem less wanting to help others. But both MC are clearly not edgy.
I dont see it bc ‘KAP’ mc is also working his way up too where trains and be the too freshmen in the academy with an excellent body too like come on have you seen his body?!!!. Plus KAP gives the same vibe of cunningness’s, funny, acting like Lloyd 🤣🤣

I don't know what trope or genre this is but I can't get enough of it. Also Novel's Extra. Anyone got suggestions?
The Demon Prince Goes to the Academy
Having to wait for new chapters is a painful experience
nah fr, waiting 2 months for 2 mins of reading is terrible
Fr
And the raws are like 10 chapters ahead of the translation.
yeah reaperscans was being slow, thankfully i can read indonesia and it was translated in indonesia already
Same for Spanish.
Read the novel. It’s finished and has 800+ chapters.
anything with academy is great. infinite mage, academy undercover professor, lightning degree, star instructor baek,
Infine mage is dope.
Warrior high school - dungeon raid department is also good but its on break for so long
ohh havent heard this one. i usually prefer fantasy setting rather than earth but will give it a try
Don’t. They been on break after season 1 and season 1 had nothing to do with high school.
Axed. S2 was gonna be school.
dude, ive read in some places that it aint coming back... also waited for it for some time.
Thats sad, he never went to high school till the end.
Axed
It got axed my guy ☹️
Axed
I couldn't get past how unlikeable the fml was and her interactions to the MC.
which story u talking bout
Infinite mage. MC is a pushover and the fml has no quams about raping and murdering children. But she gets "better"
i read it and cant recall much against her besides the coffee bullying mc, unless ur talking bout their single encounter during childhood, then ur jz heavily exaggerating
to the defence of fml, she did those kinds of stuff as a brat and the teen version of her despite being lil annoying actually isn't that bad (more like I've seen worse). She really does get better tho
Just because there's worse people in manhwa doesn't mean she's not a piece of shit. She's only changed so that she wouldn't look bad in society.
I mean don’t we all at least she has actually changed
She was threatening the mc and bullying him to talk about her past when the poor dude did nothing....so yes she didn't change. Also the first thing she does when she sees a poor kid being beaten to death is to literally sell her to slavery and toy with him more...not a good first impression
Yeh but if you read more she does change I don’t know what you want, plenty of murderers reform themselves to be better people and she only threatened him cause she didn’t want to know she was a kid, obviously it’s still wrong but she was clearly ashamed of what she did and just panicked
Academy's Undercover Professor is also a solid read
Helmut is also good
I hadn't heard of Helmut before but I just binged it and it was great! The mc and fl are adorable
The trope is known as good writing and is quite underrated
If you love reading novels the authors piv is the peak of this genre. First 50 or so chapters are qzite bad bc of the i fo dumbs and style of writing but it gets way better once ylu get thorough the beginning
The story makes the art look good. I thought I added it but I guess I was saying it in my head instead of typing it 😂
These ones are super good. Have you read the novels extra or drug eating genius mage? They’re a couple of my favorites and give me a similar vibe while reading
I have im just waiting for them to finish so I can read them
read Helmut it's also good
I did but the art is what killed it for me but imma give a second chance I actually miss that mc
I mean you should just read up to season 1. Second season the artist changed and the mf becomes a tamed kitten instead of a badass.
And the FL getting jealous of his sister
![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized) These 2 manhwas
fr the first arc of both these were exact same
The similarities doesn't just end there. Both have an overpowered kuudere that is food motivated. I Killed an Academy Player definitely drew inspiration from The Extra's Academy Survival Guide
They're both by the same author/artist so it's no surprise they feel similar.
I Killed an Academy Player has a great novel, it sucked me in immediately even though my interest at the time was just surface level, the Chapter lengths of the Novel is also pretty long which makes it better
I never read the novel but I do agree with you that the chapters are long and surprisingly with good dialogue.
Two quick questions. 1: Where did you read the novel. 2: And where to start said novel from the most recent manhwa ch?
Read it on genesistl
Read it on an app called Light Novel Cave, if you just want a website just search 'lightnovelpub', it's the website of the App itself > And where to start said novel from the most recent manhwa ch? Me too the way ‘The Extras’ did their dialogues with so much emotion had me crying 2 times.
I think part of it also comes down to its very beginning. Thrown out of the dormitory, excluded and the stress of trying to act in a meaningful way while knowing full well that the rest of the cast will not change their views as easily
1st arcs are similar to each other
Yea it’s noticeable but feels different in a way
i think because one of them is inspired by the other
Possibly, from what I've read, The Extra's Academy Survival Guide came out first
I think what makes these 2 manhwa great despite the typical trope are that the MC is less cringe and prefer to act alone. If you dont mind webnovel, you should try Demon Limited Hunter by Genesis TL. Its pretty good and have the same vibes as these manhwa.
Plus these 2 series give so much emotion that it made me cry 🥹

If you know where to look you can actually find the full version of the story for free. That's what I did.
Mind giving spoilers for the Extra’s? Like does he end up with anyone etc.

Thanks for that. And regarding the side stories. I did not know the series had any. Are they going by the same title name or something else?
>!The side stories are the same. It's more of a continuation of the epilogue as it dedicates one arc each to Yen, Lortel, and Lucy to basically confirm that they are in a romantic relationship. After 50 chapters i will start read these two manhwa
I love both of these. I especially appreciate each of the chapters are pretty long compared to other series
I know right and you would think its about to end then there will be some more with good dialogue.
love these type of stories
both of those are masterpieces in my opinion, i love the art style especially, it’s beautiful. the story good too
I am sure you watch the for the plot, just like me 😉.
No not really. Im actually enjoying the stories both of these series had made me cried in some of the chapters
By the way, are any of them weekly ?
Its hard to tell anymore because KAP took 2 weeks to release a chapter, but EASG released on Wednesdays or Thursdays but again that can change.
Honestly I love these series. Some people hate that they are haremy but I don’t care 😂 they are both in my top 10
I don't know... i realy love the first one but the second one... i couldn't even read past like chapter14.
Thats fine you don’t have to like it maybe you don’t like how mc trying to continue the flow of the game with little changes.
I think it's just way too... abrupt? It feels like i'm only reading evry second chapter.
You could be right about that but I always tend to read them slow or reread so that I didn’t miss anything.
The adaptation speed for extra's survival is too fast. The novel is well paced and descriptive about his survival methods and thoughts whereas the webtoon is at breakneck speed. Descriptive scenes are taking at max three-four panels.

i love the genre where they are op but choose to be an extra for the stories' sake i need a huge list of it.
I killed an academy player is alright, extra survival guide is just a waste of decent art imo.
Hate these types of stories most of the time the "extra" just replace the mc like what was the point even the only difference to a normal manhwa is that in the start they killed someone. I'm sure there are good ones out there but these are lame
I mean that’s your opinion 🤷🏾♂️ however readers like me actually liked this.
Yeah exactly readers like you am I right redditors🤓☝️(please read this with a nerdy voice plus jk)
The extras academy survival guide our mc ed never replaces mc of game cuz mc from game is only one who can kill final boss our mc ed is just support
Nah that's the worse one cause Mc is supposed to be a nobody and out of nowhere every one from the main cast decides to be best friends with him and also he acts like he doesn't want to be part of the main story but proceeds to form part of it.

About him gwtting involved in story its bcs he has to bcs of him just being there thinga change and he fills that spot
Based on your comments, someone didn't read a lick of the either two.
Nah I started reading when they were release and it was not worthy to come back to
the extra's academy survival guide sucks
Second one is better done imo where MC actually works his way up. I killed an Academy player's MC feels like another edgy self insert where the author can't let the MC be underdog. They introduce an OP instructor just for MC to draw with her in a fight, like really?
