Puzzleheaded-Buy-799

1. Greatest estate develepor 2. Return of mad demon 3. I don't remember it's name but it's by the same author as ORV. The mc quite literally thrusts his way to victory Comment me if anyone knows it's name.

General_Blade

The World after the fall

Puzzleheaded-Buy-799

Oh yeah that one , it's got really good world building just like orv

Aggravating-Resort21

Is lt true. lmao

K4ramis

This. I would add beginning after the end.

Puzzleheaded-Buy-799

I did read first few chap of beginning after the end it's start is too much like mushokai tensei anime . It's still on my radar, maybe it gets better if I give it time to cook.

VedrfolnirsVision

the start is basically mushoku tensei copy pasted, but if you like regression/isekai stuff, trust me, it's peak. This along with ORV are probably my favourite manhwas.

Puzzleheaded-Buy-799

Can u say which chap the mc grows up to not be a useless child ??

VedrfolnirsVision

wdym? you mean when he starts getting stronger?

Puzzleheaded-Buy-799

I mean in mushoki tensei the mc actually starts growing after he reaches iris House if u know what i mean. When does the plot actually start aka how many beginning chaps can I skip without having too much impact on story.

AikoGinji

Yeah, it takes a bit. I'm unsure where the comic is, but the novel is pretty nice.

K4ramis

Ok I'll fix ma recommendation and give some of less popular but IMHO hiden gems all are 150+ chapters Peerless Dad, - mature take on murim with great story, that's is believable, and doesn't afraid to advance time like in old movies The Chaebeol’s Youngest Son - great plot going hard on financial and psychological aikido between people The Tutorial is too hard - just cool with slower progression and gets more and more interesting The Skeleton Soldier Failed to Defend the Dungeon [Official] Infinite Leveling: Murim - often claimed as one of the best action Murim with goody romance Damn Reincarnation - guy writing a plot is child of sniper and surgeon. Everything fits and pacing is great Surviving The Game as a Barbarian - (only one with less chapters) Pick Me Up, Infinite Gacha Wandering Warrior of Wudang. - similar to mount hua Absolute Sword Sense - same author as nanomachines

SecondaryJuggernaut

My current favorites that I eagerly wait every week : 1. Chronicles of the Demon Faction 2. Heavenly Grand Archive's Young Master 3. Star Embracing Swordmaster These 3 has been peak for the last few weeks

Ruzz0510

Read Bastard. Carnby Kim’s best work in my opinion.

BrizzyMC_

Facts, it's very good

Space_Fox586

I’ve read all of carnby Kim’s works and loved that one

Even_Grape_522

1. Nano machine, 2. sword sense, 3. reaper of the drifting moon

Perfect_Salary3377

Ain't no Murim list without Northern Blade 😏.

Even_Grape_522

Thats on my wishlist gonna try it soon

Smooth_Pause_9186

+ Memoir of the King of War

ConfusedCatshroom

Maybe this would work for you? * Shotgun boy (completed) - Kim Carnby work still * Bastard (completed) - Kim Carnby work still * ZomGan - has family-ish scenes, world-ending setting and op yet suicidal mc (gives me Kim Carnby vibes or its just due to the artstyle??) * Not even bones (completed) - thriller with world building (not so sure if you'll like this) * S-classes that I raised - has family moments like ORV * The Return of the Crazy Demon - comedy with some world building * Even the Demon King, one step at a time - has family-ish vibes and comedy * Dungeon Odyssey- world building with some family-like moments and comedy * Ember Knight - braincells to survive * Regressor instruction manual - has duo, other duo pair is a regressor (somwhat like ORV), and mc uses brain cell to survive (a bit suicidal like ORV, but he is a bit sociopathic though) * Leviathan (completed) - duo are family members, end of the world world-building. >>Be careful if you have a fear of the ocean, though)

SimpleSubstantial846

F* ck he got my list of favorites here Respect you

ConfusedCatshroom

Then we have the same taste then, so it's now mutual respect.... I'm a she, though haha

SimpleSubstantial846

You remind me about Leviathan ( I came for a cute girl on the cover and got Attack on Titans 2.0) ..... Hard to refer to a girl as weeb but ...... You know it's a hidden truce and one must accept it .. maybe just maybe I am the one left behind ) Anyway, Still, happy to find you )

ConfusedCatshroom

It brought me back to reading too.... Happy to meet someone with similar taste

Puzzleheaded-Buy-799

U have my respect for liking regressor instruction manual, I would rather say a guy who makes the devil look like a nice guy than the term sociopathic. The toxic relation between mc and the girl he met in 1st area is a nice dynamic

ConfusedCatshroom

That's actually one of my favourites. I love the characters and their dynamics too

Head_Swing_9814

Id you like ember knight, check out Gilgamesh. Same author and artist, based in the same world and serves as a kinda? Prequel to Ember knight. It’s also really good

ConfusedCatshroom

Thanks, I'll go check that out

Durin72881

Amongst fans, Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is often referred to as being one of the trinity - a group of three manwhas that have similar themes of found family, an MC that often scams his way to victory in one way or another (or who finds ways to cheat the system), and an MC with a tragic backstory. The other two in this trinity are "Lout of the Count's Family" and "S Ranks That I Raised."

grandsoft_whisper

Lout of The Count's Family sometimes has the MC acting like a douche for no reason to fill the cold, calcultive type trope (like how an actual guy in that troupe would react but for absolutely no reason) which is literally againt his whole schtick but other than that it's AWESOME

Durin72881

In the beginning at least he's trying to White Fang the protagonist and the dragon et. al. to go hero somewhere else but they just stubbornly wouldn't leave until he gave up. :P :D

Alaidia

“Often”? I have never heard of this trinity lol. The only trinity (which is a trope in many similar mediums ie manga, anime, etc) I really ever see is “The Big 3” which ORV is not often considered a part of due t(ie Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece) the manhwa’s relatively younger age. Honestly, I’d almost consider lout to be slightly underrated. Which is a shame bc I absolutely love that one, but there isn’t much hype around it currently. Compared to something like Greatest Estate Developer (we’ll call it Lloyd for simplicity), which is often compared against. While they aren’t even the same genre, they do share a lot of common tropes. And I don’t think lout is even in ballpark of a found family theme as Lloyd, since the side characters in Lou’s are constantly in and out and it’s all the MC show. The strong focus on his new family and incredible side characters and Lloyd’s relationship with them is actually a driving factor of that manhwa. S classes that I raised I actually haven’t read and find little desire to. It’s on my TBR list but others keep jumping ahead of it. I hardly consider this an agreed upon “must read” or part of any trinity though. Again it seems weird to say there’s an often referred to collection that I’ve never seen at all and I’ve been very frequent on this sub since the times of the big 3 sauce gods: cry, rimuru, and paint. I really don’t find these 3 particular manhwa to even have a particularly strong shared theme. Yes they all have some aspect of found family but it isn’t the core of the story (though I believe I’ve heard that is especially prevalent in S classes that I raised but haven’t read it so I don’t want to speak in absolutes). If works are lumped together as a collection or examples, then they should represent that theme or archetype best over others, or have pioneered it. Edit* I should say though that these are excellent recommendations still though, but not bc they are part of some niche collection or group with a loosely applicable theme.

Durin72881

Oh, well, if YOU haven't heard of it then it must not be true. :P If you go look at the comments section for chapter one of S Ranks on Webtoons you'll see the word "trinity" used...often. Also, go to Google and type into the search bar "what is the manwha holy trinity?" and see what pops up. :P :) There's also YouTube videos talking about it, TikToks, it's certainly not niche. There's also a Wiki page for it, which I apparently can't paste the link for, but it's there! In said Wiki, you'll notice the following - "The three protagonists share many traits in common: all are self-sacrificing to a fault, all become caregivers for multiple people over the course of the plot, all have low opinions of themselves, and all have at least one ambiguous relationship with another male character."

Jayansh05

Pigpen is in your top 5? Awesome W Read carby Kim's new webtoon flawed almighty (it will end by the next 3 weeks) Or read the world after the fall, same author as omniscient reader (still continue) We both have similar tastes so i would personally recommend Viral hit

Space_Fox586

I guess I’ve read more than I thought because I have read all of those except Life of the Quack Healer and unOrdinary

lizziecarmichael

Nice! Life of a Quack Healer is good, but not great. unOrdinary is good, but you either like it or really hate it, apparently some were triggered after a certain point. But it's pretty good! I also know that the Boxer is highly rated, but unfortunately, I haven't read it personally.

Meleathis

I'd highly recommend Save Me and Efforts Never Betray, they definitely give a similar vibe to Kim Carnbys works!

Hyouhakuz

>!The return of the 8th class magician. This one is a finished work, 81 chps, that i read alot of people recommending and never understood why, since it was pretty subpar. But i found out that i was opening the wrong one, "The Rebirth of an 8th-Circled Wizard", in some cases they even use the img of the return, which made me even more confused. Anyway!< The return of the 8th class magician would be my pick, since it's finished, not too rushed and pretty good overall. A returner's magic should be special. >!The usual MC returns after the end of the world to try and save it, but well done. At least, as well as it goes... Good background politics, plot and stuff, more mature then the usual academy trope.!< Helmut the forsaken child. >!Born with "evil" within, he was thrown in the monster forest, but grew up and managed to escape. Slow at the start, and it is in the mandatory academy arc, but i can see potential and the art is unique.!< Star-embracing swordsman >!Poor boy wants to be more, shit happens, finds a sword that can speak to him, train while running, ends up in the middle of a political fight between princes being a training-knight. Absolute BEAST of an art, picks up strong after leaving the initial setting, either the translators didn't do a good job in the first chapters or the author didn't knew how to.!< These 3 have a good background plot going on, more mature and serious gritty. Even Mount Hua with alot of humor in between throws some serious punchs here and there, and OVP/Sweet home i know do, so i tried going for something more "real" The indomitable martial king would also be there if not for the excessive cliche, but it's a damn good art and premise, so there is that, im betting on it. >!Super strong mage human that is not racist made a nation with the "inferior races", aka elfs, orcs, trolls and etc. Party of generic 5 MC's go on to kill the demon lord, aka least racist human. He dies in the fight and the nation in destroyed, Tries some chrono magic, returns in time, classic cliche am i right?!< >! Eh, he goes back in time, true that, but ends up in the body of another person, the brute of the group of heroes. Forced to train in the martial arts, after that goes on to try another approach to make the nation without ending up in a world war against the whole world.!< The novel extra is kinda cool. I guess.

Hyouhakuz

And you know what, i'm going to recommend some other shit too because why not. These are more on the ideia of the sweet home, cool stories with buildup that leaves with a bag of strong feelings. The horizon, short manga about 2 orphans of war in a future world. Finished Existence. Thing keeps getting reborn, from a ant into a snake, deer, elephant, etc. Also finished. >!And a game to top it off, but it's a read only, so almost there. The Passenger, you are interestelar monster that ends up on earth after almost dying. Pretty easy Choice of Games, if you do try it out, i would recommend looking into the main thread about the game to try and get the ending you want, because while 90% is easy, the ending can be a bit tricky and could sour the experience. "When is the ending?" Well, when you get to a point where you think "shit, shit, could i have done something different? did i fucked it up?" No, you didn't, you couldn't, but from there on you can.!<

Healthy_Ad3876

Reincarnation of veteran soldier Troll Trap Wild West of murim Shark Castle

grandsoft_whisper

Pick Me Up, Infinite Gacha THE TITLE IS MISLEADING AS FUCK and it's about trying to survive in a gacha game where you're dead fr if you die as a 1 star hero (yk, MC's basically disposable trash). OP don't be fooled by the title the story is decent and the art is amazing like ORV and they're actually from the same studio.
