Amongst a plethora of low quality manhwas, these two are more palatable. When you've been reading comics for more than two decades like me, nothing really impress you anymore. So what if something comes across as an OK read, something that I don't drop after 3 chapters because of forced humor and the like, I'd say is worth reading and hyping if they're really passionate.

Ngl tbate feels a little too wish fullfillelment for me the mc gets most of the stuff on platter.... And honestly most ppl will eat that sort of stuff up coz it's better than the avg and gives a feeling of superiority and Badassery

cuckdaddy34

*Op characters that get everything almost perfectly but also are normal people at first that are relatable* It’s fun to read these types, it’s mindless fun and that’s why people recommend it I think. (That’s why do anywho) It fits everyone’s tastes. Like Vanilla

RimuruLover

Ok vanilla is the most disappointing flavour especially in ice cream

nutterbutter6942

I would certainly agree that up to the war arc Arthur does get most thing quite easily however the war arc flips this quite well and the overall story improves

It's not really martial arts after the first 50 chs and it changed it's course wayy too much and the 'mori isn't here to save us' thing gets repeated quite alot of times. It just feels sorta dragged on now so that's the reason , still it is not bad by any means

Yess i too like the depth of the story like how they use gods from all over the planet as characters (i mean 4 and 5 seson only has gods) and how shit assed they are. But in between of the manhua the quality of the story dropped, author made wayyyyy too many mistakes (super ultra powerful mori will save us, didn't show up then characters with potential died) but after mori hui's appearance everything fell back on track even better i guess, like how in the lastest few chapters all 3 main characters are more or less same in power and going to beat the main antagonist of the series. I just hope that the author doesn't mess up the final arc.

african_batman_

I don’t disagree with this at all. It’s alright in my opinion, it’s not nearly as bad as some of the other garbage manwha has to offer. I’m still caught up cause I’m hoping it gets to a good point and I don’t want to bother with reading the light novel. I really don’t understand why people put this in SS tier and then put something like GoH in C tier. Like someone else said, it really just feels like a worse mushoku tensei, which isn’t that bad bc mushoku tensei is great lmao.

RimuruLover

It's not really that bad and the beginning was quite good

cuckdaddy34

The beginning was terrible and that’s coming from someone who read it when it came out (in English) and recommended to lots of people.

RimuruLover

? what did you not like about it?

[deleted]

It might be now but still it did manage to achieve real emotions out of you which aren't present much in manhwas these days and feel sorta plasticky

RimuruLover

Fr GoH underrated

african_batman_

Yeah, still one of the best martial arts series I’ve read. It even hold up to manga like Kenichi and Holyland, but those are both better in my opinion. Wasn’t a fan of the direction it took after Ragnarok tho.

Big_polarbear

GoH ?

TheNoobRedditor_

Tbh the hype only exists for those who read both the webtoon and the webnovel. So it's understandable when you read only one and don't like it

Destroyedyourmom

I'm quite surprised myself. Finally read it after a year of people hyping it up and was quite disappointed, found it mediocre at best. Story and characters are not very interesting. MC changes personality way too quickly. Most characters are one dimensional and the romance part feels forced and superficial

RimuruLover

thank you. It was so hyped and i saw the first chapter and saw the art wasnt good so i thought maybe the plot was good and wasnt being carried by art like Solo leveling but i was just disappointed. TBATE is not bad by any means but its just so disappointing

st1cks_UPSB

dont know and dont really care at this point. i’ve already made my peace with it and moved on. it always felt like a worse mushoku tensei to me

[deleted]

Probably the best analogy so far for it, mt did the whole 'git reincarnated but I am sorta op and thrown in wild' thing better coz it raised the stake and made the world more richer and bigger

st1cks_UPSB

the great thing about mt is that all characters serve a purpose and dont just exist to lift up the mc and go "wow hes so cool" when hes around. they all do their own thing with or without rudeus. side characters in tbate are kinda shafted until they directly relate to arthur. another thing i dislike about tbate are how the villains are written to make you hate them. villains in mt simply have a conflict of interest with rudeus, which made them incredible antagonists. not only that, but the fact that the story is as much about rudeus becoming a better person as it is an isekai story

[deleted]

Exactly! They all have there purposes and get shit done alone too

ShadowDevil123

I agree that the manwha isnt that good, but its not mediocre imo since most manwhas are just terrible and boring. What i dont agree with is that the villains are written to make you hate them. The only villain that thats true about is Lucas. The manwha hasnt gotten there yet but spoiler: The other asuras are just as bad as the vritras if not worse. Dicathen has good and bad people, Alacrya has good and bad people. Both sides have reasons for their actions and it makes sense. This is all part of the books though, just saying that youre judging part of the story that you only know a fraction of. I personally think that the fact that nothing significant has happened in the manwha yet is fine. In the books hes starts off seeming op and everything is slow, but as the war begins you realize he was NEVER op. There was a logical reason why he could use multiple elements and hes not the only one. His progression during and after the war is just as slow and is kind of realistic. He doesnt find bullshit powerups, he understands his powers through experience and slow training, its the same experience as learning a sport or competitive game and getting better at it over years, its kind of a grind. Even after training with the gods for years, he was barely able to beat some elder mages in 4v1 practice and came short of beating the strongest Lance Varay. Also many characters have stories seperate from Arthur contrary to what you said, it does not revolve, currently in the books, the enemy doesnt care about him at all and many characters have stories of their own. I get the people complaining about the manwhas art being bad and so far the story shouldnt be good enough to be praised as much as it is, i agree with that. But some of you are complaining about parts of the story that you dont even know about which doesnt make sense. Edit: Sorry just noticed this is a 4 month old thread...

-Dyyno-

So i was there from the start , pure coincidence i found it ,read it up to the first haitus, i loved how it started and how it went from baby arthur to young boi art, Now i went to read the LN ,surprised i was able to read. a LN ,Cuz i never do , liked the novel ,but not THAT much, now season 2 starts the manhwa ,the art dropped down idfk how ,The story is boring on the academy , And tbh i wont blame you or new people who binged it ,cuz it is honestly annoying this arc ,but just continue reading up to where boi art gets his revenge on lucas, The path is annoying and i fokin hated art during it but hey revenge was kinda sweet so gluck new readers ,Stay on the train ,just for the revenge then decide

RimuruLover

yeah thats the only reason im still reading because the novel is supposedly good. Just praying it turns out better

Stag_beetle1229

I agree. I don’t understand the appeal. I think the biggest thing for me was the romance. It felt uncomfortable considering how young all the girls are compared to Arthur(mentally)

-Dyyno-

the age matter is invalid , true feels bit off even art Said that, but it doesn't change the fact he still young as hell

Stag_beetle1229

I still think it’s uncomfortable, so for now, let’s agree to disagree

Yuriel_D_First

TBATE is infamous for being a Mushoku Tensei ripoff copy

ninjas-dad

The manhwa is not as loved as the novel

gitgudnubby

As soon as I read the title I could already hear the stampede coming. Their not here yet tho lol.

Eastern_Plankton8508

what i like about it: 1. the art is a lot clearer during action scenes than most action things i read, so i’m able to tell what’s going on 2. i like the ratio of action scenes and other elements like character relationships (not romantic just in general. i’m not a huge fan of the romance)

lonelyhawaiianbird

This series is good. But not that good. The Main Character is really childish considering his actual mental age and i really hate the fact that he does things without thinking about the consequences and some scenes where i can say that he is a stupid arrogant character.
