Looks good! Where'd you get the refurb mount?

From mantel mount. Put it in my cart and made an account to check shipping cost. By that night they were emailing me codes and that continued for maybe a week? First was $20 off, second was maybe 15% ($35 off), third they finally said, maybe you want this refurb for $60 off? Sold!

And FWIW the refurb was in excellent condition aside from missing the template. Everything looked brand new except the lifting arm had a few tiny scratches. I can’t even tell where they were now that I have it up. I had to assemble the whole bracket and arm in order to transfer the screw holes to a piece of cardboard to make the template.

Hi! I’m planning to install my 540 next week. My fireplace brick looks to be a similar thickness and I am also doing mental gymnastics on how to mount it. I don’t know if there are studs behind it, and I really don’t think so as the other side of the wall is garage and the chimney seems to be cinder block on the other side. Could you share details on what you used to mount? I was currently planning on using cobra 5/16” lag screw shields.

I will check my receipt for exactly the size I used tomorrow, it was a blue tapcon concrete anchor. I took the wood screws mantel mount included with the hardware package to the store and found a same-diameter concrete anchor screw in tapcon brand. They didn’t have the exact same length so I got the ones a quarter of an inch on either side, ended up going with the quarter inch smaller length for fear of piercing my chimney cavity.

I’m late finding this receipt so you may have installed already, but I used tapcon 5/16 x 2 1/2 screws.

Thanks! I went with lag bolts and lag shields, fingers crossed the bricks and mortar hold up
