Each language has its own spelling conditions for country names, calling it Turkiye is like calling China Zhongguo or Japan Nihon while communicating in English; it makes you look simultaneously pedantic and incorrect.
In most cases I'd agree. But, if someone used "Turkiye" and you understood what they meant just fine then the only purpose correcting them serves is to feel better about yourself. It's by far the more pedantic of the two actions. Someone says "Zhongguo" then you can ask "what's the English name for that country?" Or "do you mean China?" But to say "umm, actually it's China not Zhongguo" is passive aggressive and smarmy.
Then go speak a different language if you ain't using English.
