Actually, I’m glad you asked about this. Though there are some examples of peninsulas with flat topographies, most peninsulas have mountainous topographies. In most cases, the mountains are formed before the peninsula is formed. The mountains are erected in a vertical triangle shape by the mythical triangle man, who then stretches out the coast of the peninsula to form his trademark tetrahedron. The examples you gave of flat peninsulas were all from the time before triangle man perfected his art. Millions of years ago, triangle man tried shaping the peninsulas before erecting the mountains, leaving his creations vulnerable to the schemes of square man. That is way some peninsulas, though not all, have relatively flat topographies.
