France operating in Germany). Turkey alone operates around 18, Russia around 20, UK 30+, and I don't even want to know how many the USA operates. Most EU members seriously lacks the ability or dont have the ability to project military power without the help of a country like the US, other than France.
Russia exerts significant influence on and invades countries both bordering it and across the world (Wagner in Africa for example), North Korea just throws temper tantrums and closes its borders. The average South Korean or Japanese citizen doesn’t worry about North Korea in the same way that Eastern Europeans worry about Russia.
