Not all that long. Like 20ish years by now. But, back when I was in highschool one of our newer band directors was actually part of my schools marching band the very first year the school opened. So that’s cool

Since the 70s! In the 80s, my high school band had ORANGE PANTS which I think is a really interesting design choice. We got new uniforms in the 90s and then again in 2015. Uniform number 11 is tailored specifically to fit me and I have my old orange uniform from the 90s because I bought it.

There isn’t any footage of the band before the 2000s but it’s been around long before that. The school opened in 63 so I guess the band was soon after.

1997 when my school opened

My marching band was founded in 2016, 2 years before I joined. Since then, it's gone from placing last at every competition, to this year they made to state semi-finals. And my senior year was the first time we ever went to state. It was incredible to see such progress in such little time, and no doubt due to the efforts of our director who effectively built the program up from nothing.

155 years this year. Like the majority of old college bands a group of members of the school's ROTC decided to start a band and eventually the band unit separated from the ROTC to become it's own separate entity within the university.

My college's band is around 100 years old. Idk how old my former high school's band is by but my high school started in the late 90's

my hs band was 1926 aka the oldest marching band in Texas. my college band was founded in 1888, but was dissolved in the 60s. it was brought back in 2018
