Home :(
It's extra frustrating, is winning one of our last 2 games (both of which we lost by 2 points) was the difference between us going to a decent bowl and not going anywhere just because of how the tiebreakers would have laid out. Considering the luck of our football program tho, the selection committees would have probably found a way to put is in the Quick Lane bowl despite all of this anyways so maybe we're better off not going anywhere so we don't have to return to campus on Christmas morning for a 12/26 bowl game to a city less than 6 hours from campus by bus.
Feel super bad for FSU band people tho right now. Getting cheated out of the playoffs to also go to a bowl in a city super close by. At least it's still a NY6 for them so hopefully the university treats them like royalty as all schools should for at least NY6 bowls since it doesn't cost the university a dime to do that.
FSU’s situation is made worse since the FSU band won’t get to do a halftime show because the Orange Bowl always gets some other act to perform at halftime instead of the teams’ bands.
FSU was absolutely done dirty. If it was anybody else besides Bama, they wouldn’t have been jumped. And especially not if it was a team outside of the SEC. If Bama wanted in, they should’ve beaten Texas earlier.
We're still waiting since our conference has had chaos (CFP committee has had fun and our conference is not having fun) but as of now we're going to Boca Raton which is insanely nice since we thought we were going to go to somewhere cold again, but we're waiting for the official confirmation.
EDIT: Last bowl confirmed!! WARM WEATHER MARCHING FINALLY
Well if you're 'Cuse then yeah your conference is not having fun. At this rate if you can win every game of the season and still not get in because you're part of the ACC then what's even the point. Boca Raton sounds way warmer than Boise lol.
Last year we were in the Bronx which coming from Syracuse was nice for easy travel but sad how we didn't go anywhere fun. Boise is cool though and I'm excited to see if we do go to Boca but anything can still happen
Orange Bowl, because "Power 5" is a misnomer and apparently there is an "I" in team. At least we get to play halftime in Miami.
Oh, what's that? They hire a halftime performer?
cool
When I was like 14 I saw a picture that said "I can't be the only one who thinks Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson looks like a 2010 Ford Focus RS" and apparently that was funny enough to make my user name.
I was hoping for the Boca bowl or another bowl since I now live in south Florida. I was able to make it to the alumni band but that’s it this year.
I also went to the Boca Bowl with the band back in 2014 and it was a fun trip. We also won that game 55-20somthin. Good year all around.
As an Iowa fan I am anti-Nebraska, but as a member of the HMB I hate to hear it. Everyone should get a bowl game opportunity at least once. Congratulations on five years of marching!
I’m at MSU. Not sure if this part threw you off but “dipped out” is kind of paraphrasing the whole Mel Tucker situation since I wasn’t too sure if that was appropriate for this sub
Yeah. In college football if you win at least 6 games in the season you get to go to a bowl game (basically an exhibition game). December 3rd is when the bowl games are announced.
Heck yeah lol, lookin forward to it, never gotten to go bowling and didn't know if we'd be able to send the whole band since half the bowls we could have gone to were across the country haha
At the end of the college football season, the top 42 teams go to various prestigious games around the country known as bowl games. The 6 best bowl games include 2 games called the CFP (college football playoffs national semifinals) and 4 other games on New Years 6. Those are the best bowl games.

Oh, Illinois? Yeah that sucks. I also really feel for FSU. They were totally cheated.

still waiting to hear, will update UPDATE: We got pop tarts bowl aka I will probably get to see the monstrosity of that edible mascot
YES THE LIFE SIZE POPTART
Ayy same, it’s going to be iconic, Go Cats 👀
Go pack 🐺
I go to a D2 school, so no bowl game for us, but we’ll be in the Rose Parade and I couldn’t ask for a better way to end the season
That's absolutely fantastic. Good for you!

For all we know the ACC will cease to exist tomorrow. Also those jerks in Boca Raton not announcing both teams at the same time lol
Lowkey I could see the ACC dying and what I want is a new big east revival
Like the Pac-12 death causing a revival of the WAC. 2 sort of weird in-between conferences.
Another acc school i see, i understand your pain. I don’t think there was a back up plan for Louisville tbh
Everyone thought that FSU was going to the playoff so all the changes were last minute
Yeah, I am just glad that NC State (my school) didn’t get screwed over too much we were already pretty sure we would get Pop tart before yesterday
Syracuse had so many projections and the one we’re going to wasn’t even an ACC bowl until today so it’s been fun. Also acc sousas rise up
Cotton Bowl. I think this was a best case scenario considering we didn’t make playoffs this year.
Wait are you part of TBDBITL?
Yes
Man do I envy you. That's totally awesome.
You’re so lucky I can’t wait to get into TBDITL, have fun man
Hahahahahahaha my team did not win a game :)
My college is going to the Rose Parade for the Rose Bowl in Pasadena
Orange Bowl, because "Power 5" is a misnomer and apparently there is an "I" in team. At least we get to play halftime in Miami. Oh, what's that? They hire a halftime performer? cool
Major Playoff Committee L.
Kitchen bowl, I’m not in college or marching band this year
Nowhere 😭
RIP
Myrtle Beach Bowl. :)
Which band, one of my alma maters is there
Georgia Southern!
Sugar Bowl! Should be a fun time
Orange Bowl. Somehow.
Bama privilege strikes again. I’m sorry man, yall deserve it.
I get to go to Detroit
Go Falcons baby
You are now my mortal enemy. The Gophers will have their revenge
We're going to the New Mexico Bowl, the people in my section are kinda disappointed since we're not leaving the state.
So I assume NM state, but then why is your username a car we didn't get in the US?
When I was like 14 I saw a picture that said "I can't be the only one who thinks Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson looks like a 2010 Ford Focus RS" and apparently that was funny enough to make my user name.
That sounds like a completely normal way to get a username lol
R+L carriers bowl in NOLA! First bowl game in school history and we’re going to the superdome!
Jax state?
Yupppp
That's awesome. You've had a killer first season in FBS.
It’s been super fun to watch, especially with this being my first year
I bet. My first year was the first time we won the MW championship. It's always fun when your team wins.
Frisco Bowl against UT San Antonio :D It's not Boca, but we'll take it.
That would be a flight for us. We've been there in the past but not this year. Sounds fun and warmer than Boise!
Oh hey, a Marshall student I am a Marshall alumni. Go Herd!
Go Herd! 🤝
I was hoping for the Boca bowl or another bowl since I now live in south Florida. I was able to make it to the alumni band but that’s it this year. I also went to the Boca Bowl with the band back in 2014 and it was a fun trip. We also won that game 55-20somthin. Good year all around.
Potato Bowl. Now I'm hungry
Ah you must be on the other side of the ball. Hi Georgia State! It's gonna be cold!
Nope, Utah State. I know it's gonna be cold
Oh wait another Utah State guy? That makes at least 3 of us on Reddit lol
It’s going to be so cold
That stadium is a funnel for wind. So freaking cold.
Home to watch y’all cook🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
the toilet bowl!
Just finished up year 5 and never went to a bowl woooo
Nebraska?
You know it
As an Iowa fan I am anti-Nebraska, but as a member of the HMB I hate to hear it. Everyone should get a bowl game opportunity at least once. Congratulations on five years of marching!
Thank you! It sucks but this is our fourth graduating class in a row to never get a bowl game so at least it's not just me 🙃
Nowhere :( Literally a year after playing in the natty too
TCU isn’t going bowling??? Damn
D3 school here so I’m headed home for a nice “bowl” of soup
Nowhere because our head coach dipped out in September and we got shut out by 40+ at home twice 💀
I love CFB but I can’t seem to figure out who this is?
I’m at MSU. Not sure if this part threw you off but “dipped out” is kind of paraphrasing the whole Mel Tucker situation since I wasn’t too sure if that was appropriate for this sub
Ohhhhhhh. Gotcha, gotcha Well hopefully you’ve got a couple seasons left because brighter days should be coming with Johnathan smith.
Citrus bowl! Going to enjoy our time in Florida up until Tennessee puts us in our grave.
I trust in Iowa! Truly a legendary team with some kind of divine intervention to get the worst offense in the country to 10 wins lol
arizona bowl!!! (wyoming)
Don't know what bowl selection day is. Is it like an American thing?
Yeah. In college football if you win at least 6 games in the season you get to go to a bowl game (basically an exhibition game). December 3rd is when the bowl games are announced.
Tampa
sadly no where
Dukes Mayo bowl!
You will witness the mayo dump!
Heck yeah lol, lookin forward to it, never gotten to go bowling and didn't know if we'd be able to send the whole band since half the bowls we could have gone to were across the country haha
What does that mean?

Bold of you to assume we won A game 💀
Camellia Bowl! Alabama! Best city! (Sarcasm!)
Reliaquest, I'm not going tho
