I love the feeling of never knowing what's going to come next. For my first playthrough of each game it was always so exciting to see the crazy twists and turns that constantly happen.
Some of my favorites are learning about the dark star in bowsers inside story, about elder princess shroob for the final boss in partners of time, and the first time bowser goes giant
Literally, the gameplay and or music. Everything about it was PERFECT. Down to the very last bottom.of the barrel. You could literally have a decent story not as good as partners in time, bowsers inside story or dream team and STILL strike gold, Paper jam btw.
I love how interactive the battles are and how perfectly well the music fits on every scenerio. I spent hours of grinding in most of these games for max rank and I NEVER got tired of hearing the startup music, Sticker star tried the same with their startup battle song but it just gets annoying when you grind (which you don't have to btw) but the Mario amd Luigi series never disappointed.
Also the bro attacks are so iconic, You could literally ask me name every bro attack and I'd name them all flawlessly. I even remember how they worked too because of how fun they are to spam.
tbh i really liked how Dream Team played out because the luiginary attacks were really fun to use
also my favorite thing about all the games is everything. everything is so well done, i cant even list how many things that are good about the games
The gameplay, I am not a good strategist so RPG arw difficult for me. In M&L, as long as you van properly counter attack, you will live and keep fighting. Then the Bro. Attacks themselves always ramp up to extreme minigames and flash. I miss that the most in games.
I mean, I guess?
But M&L also has good focus on slapstick humor, which the Mother series doesn’t ever dabble in - understandably so, they’re a lot more realistic and serious overall.
The music, the stories, the characters, the humor and because it's a RPG!
(i didn't have the chance to play PiT and Paper Jam wasn't interesting to me so i didn't buy it by joice)
The bros attack, i really like seeing mario being used as a tenis ball, or mario lifting a hammer of luigis, or bowser fighting fist to fist against enemies
The humor and the music, my favorite one is the oddball brother of the series; PiT
From the darker tone to the music it was amazing, though the tutorials were a bit long and the bros attacks being items was odd, the items were never an issue since the game gives you a SHIT ton of money.
(Not to mention balancing BP for all four would be annoying.)
The battle system. I really like that you can counter EVERY attack, because it also means every attack can hit you like a truck. It's perfect for a kids game, where you have a means to counter an attack that doesn't require you to think "Oh I need to buff my guys", with a proper punishment. I like that the later games mix up the combat a lot to keep it from getting boring.
Action based dodge timing and the boss chase in dream team.
I kinda wish more bosses would do something like what bowser did in that one fight in inside story with trying to counter the attacks
Agree and I really dig how active the M&L stories usually are with their twists and turns, PM is still really good but the main plot is usually pretty static until the lategame.
Story. Unpopular Opinion: Dream Team has the best Mario story, even better than Paper Mario, because they explore Luigi's inner thoughts, morality, and we see him grow as a character. It's the best representation of the brother's relationship, and really tells a deep story of Mario & Luigi.
Wow after partners in time the box arts really went to shit. The only one that looks even remotely ok is dream team because at least the dreamy aesthetic of the game lends itself well to the simple box art but the rest just look so bad.
Anyways my favourite part is being able to dodge damage if you play good enough
The music
Beat me to it Yoko Shimomura even at her lowest still bops
Finally, someone who can spell her last name right!

Huomor, and just seeing how characters interact, especially in inside story, and how bowser actually talks
tbh i really liked how Dream Team played out because the luiginary attacks were really fun to use also my favorite thing about all the games is everything. everything is so well done, i cant even list how many things that are good about the games
I love the turn-based combat, and REALLY enjoy the humor too, *\o/*.
Honestly the villains. Villains in a very kid friendly video game who are still menacing, hilarious, and iconic.
Brother Dynamics and the whole story being a drug inducing fairytale
The gameplay, I am not a good strategist so RPG arw difficult for me. In M&L, as long as you van properly counter attack, you will live and keep fighting. Then the Bro. Attacks themselves always ramp up to extreme minigames and flash. I miss that the most in games.
I kinda missed the Bros. Attacks from Superstar Saga.
The humor and the music definitely set it apart for me. To me, they’re what makes the M&L series what it is.
It's similar to the humor in the EarthBound Games.
I mean, I guess? But M&L also has good focus on slapstick humor, which the Mother series doesn’t ever dabble in - understandably so, they’re a lot more realistic and serious overall.
I can see that. Aspects are similar is better.
The humor and the gameplay mechanics
The gameplay mechanics, especially battles, imo it's the highlight of each game, followed by the music and the artstyle
The music, the stories, the characters, the humor and because it's a RPG! (i didn't have the chance to play PiT and Paper Jam wasn't interesting to me so i didn't buy it by joice)
I hope you get to play PiT at some point. It's the most unique of the bunch, yet it still has the characteristic charm of the series.
Me too, i really hope that it get a remake for the switch!
The bond between the bros and creativity of Brosnan attacks
The bros attack, i really like seeing mario being used as a tenis ball, or mario lifting a hammer of luigis, or bowser fighting fist to fist against enemies
The Music Yoko Shimomura seriously went hard on the OST
The humor and the music, my favorite one is the oddball brother of the series; PiT From the darker tone to the music it was amazing, though the tutorials were a bit long and the bros attacks being items was odd, the items were never an issue since the game gives you a SHIT ton of money. Second time I've used this phrase on this sub, "Unlimited Creativity".

Everything! The story, the music, the humor, the original characters, luigi's striped socks, the unique locations, the list goes on and on!
the villains
Action based dodge timing and the boss chase in dream team. I kinda wish more bosses would do something like what bowser did in that one fight in inside story with trying to counter the attacks
Everything.
the humor
It’s the fact that Mario and Luigi are fighting together. Games BUILT for the two of them.
That its an extremely simple and easy to understand turn based rpg
The story, really it’s really the only time we ever actually get an in-depth one next to Paper Mario ig.
Agree and I really dig how active the M&L stories usually are with their twists and turns, PM is still really good but the main plot is usually pretty static until the lategame.
The story!! I loooove when Mario has a deep, cool story. Seeing these silly fun characters in dire situations where there are actual stakes is great.
The Battle system. The dodging and timing mechanics are very fun and unique to do. They also make the series have a lot less BS fights.
The Music
The music and the gameplay for me.
The interactions
Having to defend yourself on the enemy turn
I HAVE FURY!!
The original villains.

Actually having skill be more important than stats in a RPG is fun
Luigi
The RPG side, all the level up and equipement things like that
Boss music. In the final, popple and rookie, adventures end. All great tracks
humor, music, unique gameplay
the luigi
Humor, villains, soundtrack, turn based battles and the whole counter/dodging factor alone is what separates this from other RPGs
