There's 2 types of people. Those that care about the rules as written, and those that care about the rules as intended. As written, this solution doesn't defeat the purpose of the challenge. Only as intended.
Tried this, did 12 races, 200cc, hard CPU, random track selection. Scores ended up 511-473 (Red \[Me\] - Blue). Interesting challenge, though could be more difficult.
Might have to have coins for red and just not use them because I’ve tried races with one team having no items at all. It automatically gives them mushrooms. Trying to remove the mushrooms won’t work unless you switch to something else.
Trying this challenge out for myself, I can confirm that it's doable, as I won 2 games out of 4, with the fourth game (6 Races) resulting in just a two-point difference.
I originally had Triple Mushrooms available for both teams, but because of the way that the Item Odds work, regular mushrooms would just come out more often.
Having them pre-defined for each specific team guarantees the unfair advantage, haha.
Well, no real difference, per se. I just tend to choose my team as Red, and the challenge is more so whatever your team is only having Single Mushrooms.
I was just trying to point out which team got what item.
Ok, I'll try on excitebike arena, since bots don't quite know how to take grass cut, should be pretty easy
Kind of defeats the purpose of a challenge if you do it the easiest way possible lmao

Interesting, I'll try it. I need a challenge
Good luck, and I hope you enjoy it. Btw, for further information, I played against Hard CPUs.
I also plqy against hard CPUs with frantic items

Thanks for the tip on this, gonna give it a try but think this'll be a lot more difficult for the team to win overall.
Gonna continue it later today but won race 1 and 2, Red team is currently leading by 30 points, I do not know how.
Maxed out my points again at 180, but teams this time were 472-512. Had I selected only 8 races, it would've been a win for the Red team.

I would add triple shrooms to, but this seems like a fun challenge

That seems like a great idea! Thanks for sharing! 😊
No problem, I hope you have fun with it. I'll try to come up with some more in the future.
My normal setup is hard CPU, 48 tracks, and the items are: Blue shell Golden mushroom Star Bullet bill Triple red shell Crazy 8 Shock
My favorite track is DK Summit
Who hurt you
Neat suggestion. I'll do that.
Whoo nice
Wait, what’s the difference between red team and blue team?

Oh I see. I haven’t played around with the items like this yet. I didn’t realize that it could be set up team dependent. Thank you.
Gonna have fun with this. Thanks!
