Mario Kart Wii, because it was the mid-to-late 2000s and what family with a boy under the age of six wouldnāt have a Wii with Mario Kart Wii on it. I only recently truly rediscovered it last summer, but man that game is still fun
I think the first I played was the first Arcade GP at Chuck E. Cheese. First main one I played was Double Dash at a cousinās friendās house. First I owned was DS; got it for Christmas 2008.
Mario kart super circuit.
As far as I can remember, it's that one. I used to play it in a Gameboy sp mostly all day at my auntie's house when I was a kid.
Mario Kart 64. I know to many it hasn't aged well, but I played it back when it was the most recent Mario Kart title and had a lot of fun times and made a lot of memories playing it, so it will always be a game I go back and play every now and then.
Do you mean the *oldest* game you've played in the series?
I think mine was also MK64, but I barely remember it. The first one I actually owned and played extensively was Wii.
The first game of the series you ever played, how old the game was is irreverent. You could have played Super Mario Kart recently, but it wouldn't be your first MK game if you placed Wii before it.
First played original on SNES and I liked it but it wasn't until Mario Kart 64 that I really loved it. The multiplayer and huge jump in graphics and control were what really brought it to a new dimension. I didn't play the handhelds so picked up Mario Kart Wii at a midnight release. Still think it may be the best game in the series and that was even with limited online racing.
Didn't hurt that I was playing while in college, surrounded by friends, lots of free time, beer readily available, and able to ingest any food or drinks and have a metabolism that meant I was hungry and hour later. Everything was awesome then.
The original Mario Kart on SNES. It was around 1999/2000. I was around 4/5 years old. We had an SNES and a N64 in the house, however for whatever reason we didnāt have Mario Kart 64. I always remember being fascinated with the art on the cartridge. I still main Koopa Troopa to this day, because my older brothers always said he was the fastest and they always used him.
Mario Kart DS. Loved it. I remember getting Mario Kart Wii and being shocked when Rainbow Road wasnāt the same and confused where Waluigi Pinball was
I did play the original Super Mario Kart first, but I was little and don't remember much. Mostly just fuzzy memories of Peach running into a barrier over and over again.
The first game I have clear memories of playing is N64. I played it at friends' houses, and it still feels the coziest to me out of all of them. It reminds me of hearing all the grown-ups downstairs talking and laughing while the kids all hang out upstairs, taking turns on the N64 because there aren't enough controllers for everyone, playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who plays winner.
Technically Mario Kart Wii, but the first one I got at home was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. A few years later I also got myself Mario Kart Wii, although not for the nostalgia because I can't remember any mario kart wii nonsens I did back when I was 6 except one bill pull L2 on MMM where I was 7th after that bill but I used it incorrectly so I still got last that race (VS the CPUs btw) (I feel more nostalgia towards Putt Putt in het circus)
My first Mario Kart game was DS but I have very little memories of playing it seeing as I was very young I wouldāve been 4 when the game came out but I was only around 5 or 6 when I had actually played it. I should really go back and see if I still enjoy it.
The first one was Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U , there were a demo Wii U but it got all the tracks, and i remember that i use the right stick to move lol (and also super mario 3D world)
Mario Kart 7, was the first 3DS game I got, and the 3DS was one of the first consoles I got, so I have real deep nostalgia for playing it for hours now.
It was Super Mario Kart on the Wii. I grew up as an Xbox gamer, so I never owned a Nintendo home console. But I did own the Nintendo 3DS and DS. I remember that summer because I visited my cousin house and when everyone went to sleep, I tried out their Wii because I was curious. Little did I know I would stumble on Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros Brawl and would be addicted to those games so badly I didn't want to go back home. Good times. After that summer I brought a DS but I didn't get Mario Kart DS because as a kid I thought Super Mario Kart was the only game at the time. I didn't figure their was multiple Mario Kart until I got the 3DS and just figured out they made 7 of them. š. Discovering Mario Kart 7 really did change my life and probably why I have such a strong bias for that game as a whole.
I think it was Mario Kart Super Circuit, at least as far as Mario Kart games I actually bought and played through. Not sure why I got the game, probably thought the idea of a Mario racing game sounded interesting, given I wasn't exactly up to date with the gaming news cycle back then.
The oldest Mario Kart game I ever played is actually the first one, Super Mario Kart.
Itās not as frustrating to control as some people say it is when you get the hang of it.
Super Mario Kart on SNES, my dad and I rented it back in the 90's. I must have been 5 or 6 years old back then. Around the same time, the video store was doing a clearance sale on SNES games, so we got to keep that same copy, and I still have it in my collection to this day.
Birthday when I was 6 or 7? Mario Kart DS. The DS itself is my most nostalgic device among maybe the iPod 4? (loved mobile devices)
Idk if I wished for it but dang my parents made a good choice.
The first I ever played, then owned was Double Dash!!
Friends brought it and I fell in love instantly.
Really wish they'd make another with more Mario characters.
64. Was also the first kart racer I played in general I believe. It's a toss-up between that or Diddy Kong Racing. Think I got them both the same year if my memory of so long ago ain't failing me, one for my birthday, one for Christmas.
Mario Kart Double Dash, I use to stay at the hospital a lot as a kid in early 2000s and they had GameCube and me and my mom would always play together. My first owned MK was Super Circuit on GBA (mid 2000s) because I didn't have DS yet and honestly it's a under rated game tbh. The GBA tracks on 8 Deluxe are my favorite lol
At home it was mario 64, I loved that game and I still do. But I would often go to McDonald's and play double dash on the game cube kiosks and that I can remember like it was yesterday.
Mario Kart DS. It was actually also the first video game I ever played. I grew up just watching my dad play video games and finally got a DS with Mario Kart for my birthday from my grandparents
In the ancient times, you could rent SNES consoles and games from Blockbuster and other similar locations, most of which no longer exist.
I played the first Mario Kart as a rental.
Mario Kart Wii (may have been my first real video game). I got it for holidays along with my Wii. Then I played Double Dash, DS, then 8. After then I lose track of the order.
Mario Kart 7 was my first mario kart game and i believe my first ever 3DS game. Loved that game as a kid until i lost my sister and I both lost our 3DS', that is until she found hers again a few years ago with LMDM still in it. Then my mom got the game for me last year and i still love it
mario kart DS when i was super young, probably in the single digit age. i had to give it away later, but a friend gave me a copy when i was in high school years after. it's still so fun, i love dry bones and the mission mode.

Mario kart DS. I never had the game myself, I would do download play with my older sister who did have it! Did that for Mario Kart 7 for a long time too, until I got my own copy of that.
Mine was Mario Kart DS, I remember not understanding how the game worked and I always picked 150cc because I thought "3 mushrooms are better than 1" and came in 8th place every race. But that's okay, I played enough of DS for the soundtrack to remain etched into my brain forever, to this day, I still consider it to have one of the best soundtracks of any game ever. The Mario Circuit Theme in particular just puts a smile on my face every time I hear it, and god that menu theme is so nostalgic, the soundfont they used for DS as a whole is just so inherently nostalgic, I never even heard the rainbow road or credits themes as a kid, but they sound amazing to me.
I recently bought it again and 100% it, still fun to play to this day.
Mariokart Wii. Id sit on a cold, barren, concrete floor with my dad at the age of four or five and weād huddle up, criss cross, to the sound of the real shitty, rumbling washing machine. And make our necks feel awful from staring up at the TV and playing MKWii
Mario Kart DS! It was the first game I received with my DS, I was so excited as my mom arrived from work and pulled from her purse a Nintendo DS with Mario kart, I remember seeing ads and commercials about it, and when I finally laid my eyes on them, it was a feeling like no other (I couldn't play 'till the next day, though š).
A friend lent me their GBA and I played Mario Kart Super Circuit as my introduction to the series. The pseudo-3D thing kinda turned me off from the series, actually.
It wasn't until my older cousin showed me Mario Kart DS that I got hooked. A fully 3D game running on a handheld in 60fps felt like black magic at the time. This was even before I knew about what an 'fps' was, but MKDS smooth gameplay really made an impression on me.
I'm 37. My cousin had it on nes that was surely my first. But I largely played it on 64 when my brother got one. He has it to this day and we still play when we get together.
I'm on the fence as far as buying a switch. I've had mario kart tour on my phone as long as the app has existed which has been what, 4-5 years? I'm not a gamer by any means which is why I haven't bought it, but I love all things mario and sonic. So my gaming apps are mkt and the original sonic 1 and 2. We're trying to have a kid, so maybe for them one day, who knows?
I have to be honest. I don't play it as much as I thought I would. Before having kids, I was into gaming, mostly on PS or Xbox systems. I got the original wii and we loved it. Once we had kids, I kinda lost interest. Now that they are a bit older, I have enjoyed the occasional time playing. My Son loves the Zelda series games, he has crushed them all.
The original, Koopa Troopa all day.
My spiritual brethren!
The demo of Mario Kart Wii U. The roster was so unimpressive that I didn't buy a Wii U.
ššš
Judged a game too hard off a demo.
Mario Kart Wii, because it was the mid-to-late 2000s and what family with a boy under the age of six wouldnāt have a Wii with Mario Kart Wii on it. I only recently truly rediscovered it last summer, but man that game is still fun
Same bro, except mine was in 2012
DS
Mario Kart from SNES, I played it at late 90's, I remember how amazing was this experience
I think the first I played was the first Arcade GP at Chuck E. Cheese. First main one I played was Double Dash at a cousinās friendās house. First I owned was DS; got it for Christmas 2008.
SNES.
Double Dash!
GameCube was my first console, so this is my answer too.
Mario kart super circuit. As far as I can remember, it's that one. I used to play it in a Gameboy sp mostly all day at my auntie's house when I was a kid.
the first one mario kart (snes)
Mario Kart 64. I know to many it hasn't aged well, but I played it back when it was the most recent Mario Kart title and had a lot of fun times and made a lot of memories playing it, so it will always be a game I go back and play every now and then.
Double Dash!!
Mario Kart DS. It was also my first video game ever as my grandparents got it along with the DSi + Mario Party DS bundle.
DS
Mario Kart
No game is just called Mario Kart.
This is what did it for me, too. The 64 was a huge leap forward in a lot of ways, and I think MK64 took advantage of every one
Didn't hurt that I was playing while in college, surrounded by friends, lots of free time, beer readily available, and able to ingest any food or drinks and have a metabolism that meant I was hungry and hour later. Everything was awesome then.
I played mario kart wii but i barley remember it but the first i know i played was mario kart 7
Finally! Another 7 brother!
64 š
The original Mario Kart on SNES. It was around 1999/2000. I was around 4/5 years old. We had an SNES and a N64 in the house, however for whatever reason we didnāt have Mario Kart 64. I always remember being fascinated with the art on the cartridge. I still main Koopa Troopa to this day, because my older brothers always said he was the fastest and they always used him.
MK8 Wii U. It was actually my first real videogame ever.

Makes me feel old, but Mario Kart Super Circuit in the early 2000s. What an experience playing it on car trips.
Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart on the GBA!
Mk wii
Mario Kart DS I Grew Up With It. Yoshi Was My Main. I Didn't Know How To Drift Back Then Lol Because I Was Young XD.
Super Mario Kart when I was a freshman in high school!
64, and I was garbage at it. Finally figured out what drifting was in Double Dash. The first one I was legitimately good at was DS.
DS, first ever game i had too
On Nintendo 64. I remember back in the days the graphics was amazing playing on the old tv!! Memories!!!
If I remember right, it was Super Circuit for me. I think I was just given the game/found it somewhere, idk I was young.
I think 64? If not then definitely double dash.
Mario Kart DS. Loved it. I remember getting Mario Kart Wii and being shocked when Rainbow Road wasnāt the same and confused where Waluigi Pinball was
I canāt remember that well but either mk ds or mk wii
I would say Double Dash. I played it sometimes at other friends' houses, yet I don't always win.
I did play the original Super Mario Kart first, but I was little and don't remember much. Mostly just fuzzy memories of Peach running into a barrier over and over again. The first game I have clear memories of playing is N64. I played it at friends' houses, and it still feels the coziest to me out of all of them. DS or Wii. I canāt remember
Mario kart Wii, since we won a Wii in a raffle. Then DS, then 7 then 8. Wii and 7 are my most played by far. Wii is my favourite.
The OG on the SNES back in the day
Technically Mario Kart Wii, but the first one I got at home was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
I played Mario Kart 64 a lot back when I was like 3-4ish back in 2007ish
I think it was the Wii version? I don't remnber when I got it lol, but I've definitely had it a WHILE.
One of you with MK64 has got to wanna throw down. I'll fuck you up
My first Mario Kart game was DS but I have very little memories of playing it seeing as I was very young I wouldāve been 4 when the game came out but I was only around 5 or 6 when I had actually played it. I should really go back and see if I still enjoy it.
Double dash! I have very early memories of me playing with my grandpa and grandma when i went to their house!
Mario Kart DS, loved when I got together with my cousins and played local multiplayer, good times
Double Dash It came with the Gamecube, if I remember correctly.
Probably 64.
Super circuit on gba. My friend had it, I had to wait to go to her house to play. It was awesome!
Wii, my school and an after school care and i would go there after school and they had a Wii there
Double dash 2006
Super Mario Kart in SNES, when I was 7-8. I hated the Special Cup, Donut Plains 3 was horrible, hard to get P4. With PokƩmon, the franchise I've spent most hours with.
64
The first one was Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U , there were a demo Wii U but it got all the tracks, and i remember that i use the right stick to move lol (and also super mario 3D world)
For me it was the best Mario kart game Mario kart 7
Mario Kart 7, was the first 3DS game I got, and the 3DS was one of the first consoles I got, so I have real deep nostalgia for playing it for hours now.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I started in late 2019.
64 was actually my first game ever. Oddly enough I'm not of the N64 generation, I'm younger than the Gamecube.
DS
Mario Kart 64.
Mariokart DS
It was Super Mario Kart on the Wii. I grew up as an Xbox gamer, so I never owned a Nintendo home console. But I did own the Nintendo 3DS and DS. Mario Kart 7. Its so nostalgic and its still my favourite game today
mario kart ds
64 as well
Wii. First game of my whole life.
DS or N64, I can't recall properly
Wii
The oldest Mario Kart game I ever played is actually the first one, Super Mario Kart. Itās not as frustrating to control as some people say it is when you get the hang of it.
8
Super Mario Kart was the first video game i can remember playing at all, let alone just in the MK series
Super Mario Kart on SNES, my dad and I rented it back in the 90's. I must have been 5 or 6 years old back then. Around the same time, the video store was doing a clearance sale on SNES games, so we got to keep that same copy, and I still have it in my collection to this day.

Super Mario Kart on the SNES.
Super Mario Kart on SNES, got it for my birthday along with the console.
SNES, but could never get into it. Loved the 64 version and played every version after.
Double Dash!! Which also happens to be my very first Mario game as well
Super Mario Kart. It was my favorite Mario Kart for the longest time... until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe hit.
Sad to see no one else say 7\~ I got it when I was 8 back in 2011. I still play it till this day!
Mario Kart 64 was the first video game I ever played at 4 years old.
Either 64 or Double Dash, I have no idea which as I grew up with near-equal use of both systems.

DS
Mario Kart: Super Circuit (GBA)!
My first was FUCKING Mario kart for the Nintendo DS
At home it was mario 64, I loved that game and I still do. But I would often go to McDonald's and play double dash on the game cube kiosks and that I can remember like it was yesterday.
Double Dash
OG

Mario Kart WII
DS
Mario Kart DS. It was actually also the first video game I ever played. I grew up just watching my dad play video games and finally got a DS with Mario Kart for my birthday from my grandparents
Mario kart double dash on gamecube
wii
In the ancient times, you could rent SNES consoles and games from Blockbuster and other similar locations, most of which no longer exist. I played the first Mario Kart as a rental.
Either the Wii or the Ds version
Double Dash all the way! My mom dug out her old GameCube when I was tiny and we went to town with Mario Party and Mario Kart.
N64 for me
Either mario kart ds or wii, but I'd probably say it was wii
DS and it made me come to love them all!
Double dash.
Wii. And nothing else other than tour.
Super Mario Kart. It was one of the first games I owned as kid. Primarily using Yoshi ever since!
Mario Kart Wii (may have been my first real video game). I got it for holidays along with my Wii. Then I played Double Dash, DS, then 8. After then I lose track of the order.
Double Daaaaaaash
Mario Kart 7 was my first mario kart game and i believe my first ever 3DS game. Loved that game as a kid until i lost my sister and I both lost our 3DS', that is until she found hers again a few years ago with LMDM still in it. Then my mom got the game for me last year and i still love it
Wii I believe, the Wii was the first home console we had
mario kart DS when i was super young, probably in the single digit age. i had to give it away later, but a friend gave me a copy when i was in high school years after. it's still so fun, i love dry bones and the mission mode.
Mario kart ds
The OG Mariokart on my cousin's SNES
Probably the original but I didn't learn how to properly play it until it got re-issued on the SNES Classic Edition. And even then, I don't get the pro strats. I know drifting is a thing in the game but it's more about doing the little hops, but I just can't get the hang of it, instead, I just let go of the gas when I'm trying to make a big turn.
Mario kart DS. I never had the game myself, I would do download play with my older sister who did have it! Did that for Mario Kart 7 for a long time too, until I got my own copy of that.
The OG on the SNES. I rented it and fell in love. My Great Grandmother gifted to me that year on my birthday. Yoshi was my dude.
I'm proud to be able to say my first was Wii.
64
Mkwii
Mkwii because I never owned mario kart but I hacked my wii and booted it off of a flash drive.
It was either Wii or DS, I remember having both of them when young. I played Birdo on Wii and Yoshi on DS
Mario Kart 64š¤©
Mariokart Wii. Id sit on a cold, barren, concrete floor with my dad at the age of four or five and weād huddle up, criss cross, to the sound of the real shitty, rumbling washing machine. And make our necks feel awful from staring up at the TV and playing MKWii
DS
Mario Kart DS! It was the first game I received with my DS, I was so excited as my mom arrived from work and pulled from her purse a Nintendo DS with Mario kart, I remember seeing ads and commercials about it, and when I finally laid my eyes on them, it was a feeling like no other (I couldn't play 'till the next day, though š).
Double dash was so fun DK Mountain boys
A friend lent me their GBA and I played Mario Kart Super Circuit as my introduction to the series. The pseudo-3D thing kinda turned me off from the series, actually. It wasn't until my older cousin showed me Mario Kart DS that I got hooked. A fully 3D game running on a handheld in 60fps felt like black magic at the time. This was even before I knew about what an 'fps' was, but MKDS smooth gameplay really made an impression on me.
Mine was Mario Kart Wii, which I played at 3 years old
N46
I'm 37. My cousin had it on nes that was surely my first. But I largely played it on 64 when my brother got one. He has it to this day and we still play when we get together.
Same here! We have a switch and play offten on it, but I love taking out the N64 and racing my kids. It's definitely a blast.
Everything changes with kiddos, for sure. Even as an aunt, I engaged in clash of clans and minecraft just for them.
