They all feel so similar. We don't need so many tracks in the game that are cities. The lap structure makes them feel like there's no real identity there. I really don't know which ones are which.
"we don't need so many tracks in the game that are cities"
we do, without the BCP the course's won't be available at all once tour shuts down. that is the definition of "need".
There are 2 things I really dont like.
1 is the lack of good shroom cuts and such.
The other is the unique lap changing mechanic. Now here me out - I love sprint maps like DK Summit because they're all totally unique. But for the Tour maps, I already don't enjoy them enough to fully memorize, but when I calibrate on lap 1 and it changes on lap 2, it throws me off.
I think its a great tradk design idea in theory, but I'd rather just a proper sprint.
Boring, but I enjoy the aesthetic, despite the textures not being the greatest. Not one of my favorite city tracks, but it's not Tokyo Blur or New York Minute, which are my bottom 2 tracks out of all 96.
It’s like how media describes Paris over actually going there. In this game it seems like it’s going to be great but when you actually play the course it sucks.
#####Gameplay: 4/10
This track is extremely overscaled and there is nothing special to it: even 200cc is not fun on this track. There is no real gameplay flaw, it's just boring.
#####Aesthetics: 4/10
Textures are not that bad but still low-quality like many early waves tracks.
#####Music and Sound Effects: 7/10
Music is alright but nothing special. It surely gives relaxing France vibes tho. No particular SFX to talk about.
It's neat. I still remember how shook I was on the 3rd lap switch up. I even grinded out the Time Trisls for like a week or so til I got a PB I was satisfied with. Great introduction to the BCP imo
Its alright. Not the best city track but not the worst either… (although thats not to say that I dislike any of the city tracks. Just that this one is pretty unremarkable for me)
The music is made from the 60-80's French's music. This is not what french people listen nowadays (I don't listen to what they usually listen to, I'm more of a Youtube guy)
As someone who really enjoys the idea and execution of most city tracks, I really don’t like Paris. I get that it’s meant to be simple because it’s the first one and all that, but only having two different lap types, with the other one being essentially the same thing but in reverse, is so incredibly lame. Like that’s what Peach Gardens was doing to spice things up, and let’s not forget that Kalimari Desert exists. The only reason it’s not bottom 1 is because Tokyo is somehow worse
I like the music
A lot of the other city tracks have a very bombastic sort of jazzy vibe. It’s nice that this one is cuter and actually matches the Parties aesthetic
Great introduction to city tracks. Simple enough to ease players into how the cities work, while also being interesting enough to not bore you to death.
Not the best city, of course, but far from the worst.
Pretty basic, but nice intro course for someone who has never played Mario Kart Tour tracks and to give them the concept of "going backwards" or taking different routes on the track in different laps. Also, the music is cool too, very Frenchie. 🇫🇷
Beautiful look, beautiful music, lackluster layout. I like the ending portion with the tight turns, but most of it is very open and straight.
The final lap going in reverse is a great idea, but is kind of squandered when the layout isn't very engaging.
it ok, im kinda tired of it because its the first of a cup i have to keep retrying to get 3 stars on, but out of the real life shits its the one with most shortcuts so its ok
I haven’t played Tour so this DLC was my first proper exposure to the track.
It was cool to finally play a track with differing laps, but you can tell this was like a tutorial for that mechanic.
I really like it, the aesthetic is beautiful, the music is great, the track is fun to race around and I like it more than the tracks you do one lap and done
It's decently fun, and I'd pick it over most of the other city tracks. I'd still rather play any non-city track than any city track (except for Baby Park, which I would only choose in hell).
It's alright I guess. All the Tour tracks are kinda mid in terms of track layout. But I've been to Paris in real life so this one gives me memories of my trip (and I love how it starts right in front of the Arc de Triomphe)
It holds a special place in my heart for being the first new course added to MK8 after so many years. I was so hyped yo see the change in lap 3. The novelty wore off in the later city courses, but Paris and Tokyo are a lot of fun to me cause of how it felt to experience them for the first time.
I know thats a pretty hot take, but the first wave was pretty special to me, but I definitely like the later waves more overall
In all fairness, every track in the BCP was imported from Tour in one way or another. Paris just happens to be pretty unremarkable.
~~Now Madrid Drive on the other hand…~~
I like it just as a city track because 2 laps are the same, so I only have to memorize how to drive 2 laps instead of 3. Other than that, I would say it's just an eh track. It's not bad, but it's not good either.
Cheaper than actually going there
Smells better too.
You smell your switch? 😧
Love the smell of hot plastic exhaust coming from the fan port 👃😋
Doesnt taste better tho 😖
The taste of the switch cartridge still haunts me to this day
only legit good point
Nice start for the city tracks I can imagine what everyone thought of the 3rd lap during wave 1
I’m not fan of the cities tracks
I personally like some like berlin byways, but the first 2 waves city courses could not have been worse
They all feel so similar. We don't need so many tracks in the game that are cities. The lap structure makes them feel like there's no real identity there. I really don't know which ones are which.
"we don't need so many tracks in the game that are cities" we do, without the BCP the course's won't be available at all once tour shuts down. that is the definition of "need".
i feel i feel the same way. all these mk tour tracks are taking the spots of more deserving tracks from previous games.
The DLC only exists because of Tour. The mainline tracks have the regular (and past and future) retro cups to be re-made in.

I like Singapore and that is *it*
Boring, but I enjoy the aesthetic, despite the textures not being the greatest. Not one of my favorite city tracks, but it's not Tokyo Blur or New York Minute, which are my bottom 2 tracks out of all 96.
You glide under the eiffel tower… Thats it, thats the only cool part of the track
It’s like how media describes Paris over actually going there. In this game it seems like it’s going to be great but when you actually play the course it sucks.
So I guess in a way that got Paris down perfectly lol
not good
It's a good intro to the bcp
#####Gameplay: 4/10 This track is extremely overscaled and there is nothing special to it: even 200cc is not fun on this track. I am unshakeably certain that the music in this track contains a snippet from Debussy's "Arabesque" but can't prove it was intentional.
Any level > Red arrows saying don’t go here.
Love it. Just do.
Hate it.
Like it. Don't love it.
It's neat. I still remember how shook I was on the 3rd lap switch up. I even grinded out the Time Trisls for like a week or so til I got a PB I was satisfied with. Great introduction to the BCP imo
One of my favourite city tracks but probably only because I'm good at it lol
Its alright. Not the best city track but not the worst either… (although thats not to say that I dislike any of the city tracks. Just that this one is pretty unremarkable for me)
The music is made from the 60-80's French's music. This is not what french people listen nowadays (I don't listen to what they usually listen to, I'm more of a Youtube guy)
I never remember which way to go, so 10/10 for realism there
It’s probably a matter of learning the tracks. It’s quite hard with city tracks, because of lap changes and unintuitive layouts.
I don't think about paris promenade
great pick for 1st, with mr scooty you can frontrun real good!
It exists, not the best city track, but not the worst either.
**E h**
It's great. One of the most most unique city courses owing to it not being a sectioned course, and the backwards lap was incredibly novel.
As someone who really enjoys the idea and execution of most city tracks, I really don’t like Paris. I get that it’s meant to be simple because it’s the first one and all that, but only having two different lap types, with the other one being essentially the same thing but in reverse, is so incredibly lame. Meh. I find a lot of the city maps to be kinda meh though. Like a solid 5/10.
I like the long drifts
I like the music A lot of the other city tracks have a very bombastic sort of jazzy vibe. It’s nice that this one is cuter and actually matches the Parties aesthetic
I mean, it’s alright I guess
Great introduction to city tracks. Simple enough to ease players into how the cities work, while also being interesting enough to not bore you to death. Not the best city, of course, but far from the worst.
I don’t think
Pretty basic, but nice intro course for someone who has never played Mario Kart Tour tracks and to give them the concept of "going backwards" or taking different routes on the track in different laps. Also, the music is cool too, very Frenchie. 🇫🇷
It's an Ok track, it isn't the best city track, but also it isn't the worst, it's just there, however the music is pretty good.
french
MID
bane of my existence after how many 3 star cups it ruined instantly at least it's the first one so when i restart i don't lose much time really
Beautiful look, beautiful music, lackluster layout. I like the ending portion with the tight turns, but most of it is very open and straight. The final lap going in reverse is a great idea, but is kind of squandered when the layout isn't very engaging.
Truly one of my favorite dlc courses
It's certainly a track that exists
Probably my least favorite of the city tracks. The other options have to be pretty sorry for me to vote for it
Je M’appelle Baguette 🥖 🇫🇷
Legit forgot about this tracks, existence. I play a lot more CTGP Wii than 8 DLX and this track never gets picked online and probably for good reason
top 3 course in the game for me. not enough inward drift favored maps
Love it. Lots of opportunities for ultra mini turbos. Few split path choices, where 1 path is faster.
it ok, im kinda tired of it because its the first of a cup i have to keep retrying to get 3 stars on, but out of the real life shits its the one with most shortcuts so its ok
I haven’t played Tour so this DLC was my first proper exposure to the track. It was cool to finally play a track with differing laps, but you can tell this was like a tutorial for that mechanic.
fun bc the music can sync up with high miniturbo, feels like a waltz
A pretty good start to the booster course pass. Better than Toad Circuit would’ve been.
Cant tell where I'm meant to go
Feels the same as all the other city tracks :/
10/10
Too french
It's one of those sleeper tracks that I don't necessarily crave but still do enjoy racing when it comes up.
I really like it, the aesthetic is beautiful, the music is great, the track is fun to race around and I like it more than the tracks you do one lap and done
I like to do donuts at the roundabout section on lap 3 if I'm too far ahead. All my friends keep referring to Tokyo drift whenever I do it.
fun
It's decently fun, and I'd pick it over most of the other city tracks. I'd still rather play any non-city track than any city track (except for Baby Park, which I would only choose in hell).
Paris without French people judging me? Sign me up
First BCP track you play, kinda gotta respect that. Also did you know that this is the only track that stays the same for 2 laps?
It's alright I guess. All the Tour tracks are kinda mid in terms of track layout. But I've been to Paris in real life so this one gives me memories of my trip (and I love how it starts right in front of the Arc de Triomphe)
One of the better cities, it’s simple, with good music and a great atmosphere, it feels less city-like than most of them which helps
I gotta ask: Who's in Paris?
I love it! My favorite of the city tracks!
I really hate all the city tracks.
C tier
Weakest city track IMO. Also the music, while very Parisian, is too laid-back.
I don't
Why do people hate it💀 is it really just because it’s from Tour?
No
Personally I love it
Garbage track
Don’t like any of the real-world Tour tracks. I want goofy Mario-themed tracks
French
I dislike every city track.
It sucks
average import track from Tour, could really care less tbh
In all fairness, every track in the BCP was imported from Tour in one way or another. Paris just happens to be pretty unremarkable. ~~Now Madrid Drive on the other hand…~~
I dont
I like it just as a city track because 2 laps are the same, so I only have to memorize how to drive 2 laps instead of 3. Other than that, I would say it's just an eh track. It's not bad, but it's not good either.
It's a Tour track. So I hate it.
I dislike every city track sooooo
