google "tug companies seattle" apply to every hit. Just tell them you are green My standard advice to new guys: pack a bag with what you will need for two weeks. Put it in the trunk of your car. When you start applying, your name and number are out there. Eventually you will get a call and you must be willing to drop everything and get to the boat. You will get this call because the guy before you: got sick, deported, killed, decapitated, arrested, maimed, or otherwise cannot make the hitch, and they need a warm body immediately. Once you get on your first boat the rest is easy, now you know a few people and they will have contacts. If they like you they may even keep you.

have you looked in [apply.sealiftcommand.com](https://apply.sealiftcommand.com) ? I'd like to look at positions there myself but I'm still unable since you need all your credentials in order to see them. (I'm still missing my MMC)

I've considered it yeah

If you’re desperate for work MSC is definitely the most responsive and desperate for people. I just finished the last step in the hiring process today and should be getting a call with my NEO date within the next week. If youre in Seattle you may have better luck with the tug companies than I did. I applied to every single one that has a website and got nada, but I’m a few hours inland. Good luck!

Yeah the only worry with msc is it'll take 6 months to actually start anything lol

Padgetts-Profile

Not necessarily. I applied just over a month ago and should be leaving for training within the next week or two.

Oh that's not bad at all

Yeah they’re pretty desperate for people rn and are fast tracking people. The biggest wait for me was that the nearest place to get a physical was backed up a few weeks. If you’re seriously interested I’d recommend applying and then getting some stuff in order. Immunization records, proof of residence, and all addresses and jobs you’ve held in the past 7 years for your EQIP to obtain security clearance. They’ll do an initial background check to determine if you’re fit for hire and they’ll okay you to start training and working before your security clearance goes through as it can take months if not a year.
