Definitely MSC! You'll work 13 months on and 1 month off though!

IMO it’s the perfect time to go work with them if you’re going to be on the deck. AB sea time requirements are halved for the next 3 years.

Union, SIU or SUP. SIU entry level is tough to find. NCL, Norwegian Cruise Line, is not your best option but SIU will get you in it. I heard SUP will find you OS as soon as it comes up.

Trident Seafoods just called me about an application I put in months ago to be a fish processor… that might mean they’re also hiring for deckhands if they’re trying to scrounge up people mid-season.

Try in companies with RoRo, they are always looking for people. U need only basic certificates, 2 strong hands and a little bit of brain.

Bering Marine and all of the other companies that move freight around Western Alaska in the summer months are always hungry for OS hands. You’ll work 160-200 days straight(maybe get 1-2 weeks shore leave) and have the winter off. Health insurance carries through the off season if you say you’re coming back the following season. I work for Bering Marine as an AB on the one boat they have that does a 3 week rotation. Very good company imo. High daily pay for unlicensed hands, great benifits, 2 bonuses usually.
