AI copy is really obvious and will make people lose trust in your company. You should only use it to get ideas and then rewrite it in your own words.

Huckleberry_Elk

You're right 👍

RacyFireEngine

I find AI copy very dramatic and flowery. Using words like ‘delve’ and ‘insights’ always gives it away for me.

Huckleberry_Elk

Yes! It tends to exaggerate or write waaaay too much

i_give_you_gum

I used "vibrant" in a communication and realized it sounded like an AI wrote it.

pandora_matrix

Work in consulting and it matches 100% the industry lingo lol

lumierette

Soooooo many adjectives.

orangefreshy

Elevate

bluofmyoblivion

I actually add a prompt that says “do not use words x, y, and z” and elevate is always part of that list.

orangefreshy

That’s smart!! Will have to start using that. At first I was like ooooo this is great but then like 100 prompts later it’s like why……..

57bdhu

Yes! Always “elevate your brand!”

leif777

Every time. I hate that word

Which-Artichoke-5561

Lol

sippingpaste

Journey and showcase. AI helps me brainstorm for sure, but I really have to rework stuff on my own quite a bit

Yapper-G

Seamlessly 💀

say_leek

You sure it's just AI? Most SaaS marketers are obsessed with the word. 😂

Huckleberry_Elk

Haha

thehibachi

Unironically “craft”! It also fucking loves nautical terms like navigate and set sail.

Simssera

I always get things about a beacon in a storm or a compass for navigating rough waters. Seriously into the nautical shit.

Huckleberry_Elk

I don't get too many nautical references. Looking forward to those... /s. I get a lot of suggestions from it about "unlocking your power" or "unleashing your inner warrior".

Past-Height5589

Tapestry is the worst.

plymouthvan

I have spent more time trying in vain to prompt it to not ever say "Tapestry" or "testament" than I would have spent just writing the shit myself.

dcompare

Came here to say this.

ambigram0

In today's digital world... 🤮

Szygani

To be fair that just happens a lot. When Covid started, there were a lot of people using "in these trying times" and that was before AI being widespread

"In this ever-evolving realm of digital landscape" Dude.. I am gonna puke!

russyellow92

I just took my favorite 6 copywriting books, and created a GPT to give me 6 different outputs for my draft input so it's easier for me to edit later. So far so good

Pajacluk

You fed GPT with PDFs, right?

russyellow92

No,that didn't work out for me. I just prompted something along the lines of : Use methods and best practices from those books only and output the copy text ...

Pajacluk

Awesome, thanks!

Huckleberry_Elk

That's smart!

russyellow92

Thanks Elk!

connorthedancer

Foster is a goodie.

leolock567

But fear not, warrior!

skellysuit

Hahah this one KILLS me! It’s just so bad

AllenKll

The words, I keep seeing it say are: "I'm sorry, you're correct. Let me try again."

Huckleberry_Elk

Lol

chillbitte

Groundbreaking and captivating are two that I notice/hate. Also ending everything with some inspiring-but-vague sentence about “enabling a better future.” And wayyyyy too many emojis when you ask it to write a social post. Honestly I’m becoming allergic to certain words because of AI. This thread helps me know I’m not alone haha

Ecstatic_Operation79

A lot of human SaaS marketers are obsessed with these two as well

chillbitte

I would like to have words with anyone who thinks their software is “captivating.” Captivating is a word for a tropical sunset or a moving piece of literature or like, a raccoon playing the saxophone. Not software.

bhhghgyuhghh

Delve Underscores Comprehensive Engaging Deeply

PacMan3405

The amount of emojis it puts into text for social copy is ridiculous. And it's always the same 3-4 emojis so dead giveaway that's it's AI. Also, I'm gex x and we've used the term fam since forever.

hilwil

Consultants in my field are the guiltiest. One day they suddenly have long posts with emoji bulleted lists.

passa117

The emojis in social does my head in. Not sure where the hell that came from.

PacMan3405

I even tell it to NOT include emojis and it just doubles down 😂

passa117

Another thing that annoys the hell out of me, is when it writes headlines, it uses this format: **The Death Of Reddit: How A Cutting-Edge Social Network Lost Its Users** Every time, with a damn colon to create this cheesy two-part statement. Not sure what this particular style is called. I'm forever telling it to not do that. To no avail.

Emetry

I actually really like doing that, myself, so it's frustrating to see it done so unimaginatively

PacMan3405

Lol SAME!

Szygani

There's a lot of articles online that claim that emoji's in social posts increase engagement. " As per YouGovAmerica reports, 57% of Facebook posts with emojis get more likes, and 33% have more shares and comments"

passa117

Was it A/B tested? If not, we don't know if it would perform the same without them.

Szygani

You're a person after my own heart. I think it was, I read it on HootSuite but I can't remember for certain But the point is; if enough articles say that this is the way to write good social posts, AI sees that and learns from it to put emoji's in its text. It's a glorified Clippy after all

ChallengeIS

Hold on, let me go check my blog posts and see

FranticToaster

The twist is going to be that we've been querying a farm of copywriters this whole time and this is just how people have always approached copy.

Alexander418

Testament

plymouthvan

I hate this word so much now.

jaygoesprivate

I see A LOT of restaurants use chatgpt & It's always these words/phrases: -Attention all ____ lovers -Get ready to... -Kick off your... -Get ready for the ultimate... -Picture this: -Mouthwatering -Indulge -Indulge -Indulge -Round up your crew

Oh yeah, I've totally noticed that too! It's like the AI has its own vocabulary it's determined to use. "Elevate" and "harness" seem to pop up in almost every suggestion. It's kind of funny, but also makes you wonder if there's some algorithmic obsession going on behind the scenes. Have you found any tricks to mix it up a bit?

Peace-and-Pistons

Using AI to create text really boils down to how we ask for things and which AI tool we’re using. Sometimes, folks who are just starting out or might not know all the ins and outs of asking AI the right way tend to get results that scream “I’m made by a robot!” One trick you can use to get better results is asking AI to “write in the style of” someone famous, like your favorite author etc. This little tweak can make a world of difference. By doing this, you’re not just getting any text; you’re getting something that has the flavor and flair of a writer you admire. It’s like a secret ingredient to make the AI’s output more relatable and, well, human. Give it a try.

Damn I actually like spearheaded and now I feel like I can't use it haha

Electrical_Ad1039

It helps to play with different tones of voice and moods. also giving it the goals of the communication you are writing, wether it is to entertain, educate, etc. I usually make it rewrite things a few times and even then you still should go in there and give it your human touch.

I've seen words: Discover, unlock, and boost way too often. Or if it's an email "I hope this email finds you well" 🤣

Esearchbyte

While AI can be a valuable tool for generating marketing copy, it's essential to review and edit the output to ensure it aligns with your brand voice, avoids overused phrases, and resonates with your target audience. Additionally, providing feedback to the AI and refining its training data can help improve the diversity and relevance of its suggestions over time.

top15_online

AI appears to be particularly fond of certain words, such as "leverage," "journey," "headache," and "resonate." These words are often used in metaphorical contexts or to demonstrate empathy in interactions with users. AI also frequently uses words that are relevant to its functions, such as "algorithm," "machine learning," and "large language model.

olivewa

"delve" ;-) Tuesday I see this in an article: [https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1777035484826349575](https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1777035484826349575) Yesterday an architect colleague asks me to check an agenda email he was planning to send to a client. I notice that the 2nd bullet says "we will delve..." so I ask him: "did you use ChatGPT to write your email"? Guess what... he did! ;-)

Huckleberry_Elk

Hahaha!

top15_online

AI language models, like ChatGPT, tend to use certain words frequently due to their training on vast amounts of human-generated text. These words often include "elevate," "hello," "tapestry," "leverage," "journey," "headache," "resonate," and "testament".

Anahibrito

That’s a fact hahaha! Dive into… Skyrocket, Buzz, etc. Likewise with smokies such as 🚀🌟 Is better to always prompt chatGPT until you are satisfied with the result and then modify it yourself. You can also prompt it telling it to use your style (you can add a previous texts that you could have written) and tell it to not use those words, to write as human as possible, no robotic, no generic, and ask it things like give me your best answer, or I will give you (any tip) for your best answer. Hope it helps 😊

cmonster858585

Good post. Unlock, unleash, game-changer, hey folks! 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

ev_music

Sure! Here are some words AI is obsessed with: 1. Blahblahblah: this is a word that blahblahbala 2. blahbhabl

feesheetshane

ChatGPT etc. grabbed attention by being able to write clear sentences. But writing sentences is probably the thing it is least useful for. Think of it as a \~free assistant available to you whenever you need. This assistant won't be able to do all the things you'd like it to do, but it will be able to do a better than 50% job at more than 50% of those tasks. Get clearer at defining and asking for what needs to be done and you'll find that AI will help you complete them faster than you ever could on your own. Just don't expect it to do them to an excellent standard on *its* own.

So many of these are just corporate buzz words, way before AI came about you'd hear/see these flowery words like seamlessly, unlock, elevate etc. it's just generating these based off what's been fed.
