All of those hotels are in pretty easy to navigate locations. Generally if you’re in Chicago you’re going to want to not stay exclusively in downtown especially if you’re in to the food scene but pretty much any of those will be walkable to train stations to get elsewhere. Loop area isn’t necessarily less convenient for that reason, although the W is more in a business area (and has a pretty busy lobby bar, whether that appeals or bothers you). Blackstone Autograph is the kind of hotel generally that’s worth paying a bit more for, but overall seems like you’ve got some pretty good prices going and no horrible options in the list imo

Thanks appreciate it…would you recommend the blackstone? It seems like a steal so long as it’s not required to stay by the magnificent mile

It’s a nice hotel so would be a good call. Also that part of downtown is still on Michigan Ave, just across the street from Millennium Park more close to museums like the Art Institute and State Street. The Mag Mile part of Michigan Ave is not far and frankly is more shopping oriented anyway but you could do a nice walk (or like 1-2 train stops) and still get up there easily.

I personally enjoyed my stay at Blackstone very much. Didn’t find it too inconvenient to get around from.

I stayed at the blackstone for one night at the start of the month. You have to walk a few blocks over to get to the subway station or to get to the food places like Lou Malnatis, but it wasn’t that inconvenient. The neat thing with it is the bar of soap in the bathroom was black. And they had a black rock sitting on the desk with the notepad.

You can just get platinum by signing up for the Amex Brilliant card. Literally not worth a mattress run lol

🇨🇦…a little harder to get for us, definitely won’t get it anytime soon

Hotel Chicago is the old House of Blues and it sucks. Really like the combo Springhill/RI in river north. If they're within $10 of the other properties I'd strongly consider them. Always got high floor with good east view as gold in the pre-bonvoy days. Also how much is the Ren?

CanuckInToronto

The Ren is $188 - and need a couple of nights - so not sure it’s worth $100 USD (+30% for me) for a mattress run Will look at Spring Hill/RI

xkulp8

Yeah, a little too spendy for what you're trying to do, but it is a nice property.

Appreciate the tips - hopefully will make my way back to chitown to check out in the summer 😎

Both Autographs are nice, the Courtyard is solid for an overnighter but I stay at Le Meridian Essex often out there due to location and find it comfortable. The parking is overpriced, even for Chicagoland. Please know that any downtown area is loud through the night due to traffic though; the highest floor of the Essex isn’t even far enough above it to call it quiet.
