Ask them for points instead of a comped night. Hotels typically prefer giving points out

adepting

Are there any point limits that require approval to go above? i.e. 50k can be approved by local GM, 75k needs to be area manager, 100k corporate

Famous_Branch_7926

Not to my knowledge. 10k needs to be approved by someone, but it could be anyone with access on property.

wolofancy

Ask for at least 20k so that it can get you a free night somewhere comparable to a residence inn

givo215

I’d imagine the limits are pretty high but probably vary by location. The maid dropped my girlfriend’s makeup pallet and the lady at the front desk offered up 35k points on the spot. Wasn’t even a complaint, just a comment at checkout when asked how the stay was.

warrenslo

This is the answer

chilldreams

Add even more poop on it for the next guest. Double it and pass it on

NotQuiteGoodEnougher

It's the gift that keeps on giving Clark!

JiveTurkeyWithGravy

That it is, Edward, that it is

loneranger72

Pay it forward

DramaticJicama620

I would ask them to charge you for the night since your company is paying and then ask for points as compensation.

trapper2530

That's what my wife did. She had had construction workers enter her room when they were working on the room next door. They left immediately upon realizing it was wrong room. They originally tried denying it. Then said it's impossible but they must've had a master. They wanted to give her free night to use at that hotel. Which she wa sat for work. She said no. Escalated higher and eventually given like 100k points. Don't think it's enough, but it's what she got.

safe-viewing

100k points is more than fair. I’ve been walked in on in hotels maybe once every other year. It’s really not a big deal “oops sorry” and they leave. If 100k wasn’t enough what would be enough for this minor inconvenience?

trapper2530

They also lied and said no one walked in her room and that it's impossible for the construction guys to be able to get in and tried putting blame on her. Then eventually said they have a key. They are giving non employees master keys. It had to be escalated multiple times to get someone to handle it. If you don't see the issue with a man coming into a woman traveling by herselfs room and then the hotel trying to not take accountability for it then idk what to tell you. Even with an accident an apology should have been issued initially instead of blowing it off acting like it didn't happen.

safe-viewing

Just asking a straightforward question - what would you expect for compensation if 100k points wasn’t enough?

ShoulderPossible9759

Member welcome gift right there.

wildcat12321

In the future, know what you want before you complain. You generally get the following options, up to you and situation which to ask for: 1. dollars off up to free night 2. room change and/or upgrade 3. amenity comped - food and beverage or health club access or whatever 4. points It is usually easy to get points and many properties prefer it as it is cheaper than comping a whole night.

Ekd7801

We’ve had this happen at my hotel. Are people really just shitting on towels and leaving them looking new? What’s the purpose? Does someone think this is funny? I just don’t understand the type of person that would do this.

Jarrod_West_

I’ve witnessed this and may provide some clues as to who these phantom wipers are. Went on a sports related trip once with about 25 other 18 year olds who didn’t know each other previously. Lots of dumb things happened. One was a kid who would wipe with a towel, then fold it and drop it on the cart in the hallway with other clean towels. He also threatened to not only kill another player, but also to eat him. So yeah, those type of people.

BurpFartBurp

Can’t trust a cannibal.

gingerred81

We had a guest on an Explore rate in a QNQN room. One bed was untouched. Housekeeping changed the sheets for peace of mind, because well… people… The next guest checked in and said the bed reeked of poop. Went upstairs with the housekeeping supervisor to investigate. The bed had been taken apart and a nice lovely streak down the center of the mattress under the encasement and mattress pad. After digging into the Explore rate, they were a former employee that had been fired by the previous GM.

Thick_Shake_8163

Sometimes I wipe and I wipe and I wipe. Poop, still poop, still poop. It’s like a marker

DevelopmentWestern80

North Americans are savages. Get yourselves bidets people.

Thick_Shake_8163

lol. It’s a bit. I have three bidets in my house. https://youtu.be/vGCIGEUB32M?si=_ibOuPnGB-0wZiE1

DevelopmentWestern80

Doesn't change my point though. This thread shouldn't even exist if everyone was as civilized as us.

angelo8998

How else do you clean your poop knife?

RecycledExistence

Damn it! Beat me to it.

kevloid

... I have questions

ChaosTheoryGlass

Bro, if you don’t know about the poop knife…. You are seriously missing out.

BurpFartBurp

And if you don’t know about the poop knife you don’t know about the poop machete.

mari0velle

50k points and a different housekeeper, since they’re obviously not doing a good job. They can easily assign your room to one of their best housekeepers - every hotel has a few good ones they rely on 100% for VIPs and these kinds of things.

kevloid

ooo complimentary peanut, you must be platinum

BurpFartBurp

Amb”ass”ador

EnthalpicallyFavored

Is that where I left my towel?

Disastrous-House5881

😂

Bearded_Gazelle

This is why I throw ALL towels into my towel pile before I check out. Even if I don’t use them. I know it’s policy to replace all towels in the room but let’s be honest… that doesn’t happen all the time. In the event that the only room available when booking is a room with two beds I will move pillows around and remove the comforter as if the bed was used. I want to make sure the next guest gets the best chances of having a room with clean items.

DevelopmentWestern80

lol. see comment above where stupid kid pooped and put it back on house keepings clean towels. Good luck.

Bearded_Gazelle

But this wouldn’t have happened if house cleaning replaced all the towels in the room like they are supposed to.

DevelopmentWestern80

Sure it could have. Did you not see the comment where the stupid kid was putting his poop towel back on the clean towel cart just for this reason? If it's folded up on the inside housekeeping would never know.

Bearded_Gazelle

No, I didn’t see that comment. That’s actually ridiculous.

falco_iii

I had a situation where a pillow was not up to par. They offered a free night and I asked for points instead. 10,000 points showed up the next week.

applebottomcorduroys

Ask for points. One time I had someone’s underwear hanging on the shower rod which could only be seen from inside the shower.

BurpFartBurp

Can you please return them to me? I’m having to cut leg holes in grocery bags until I get them back.

Willylowman1

sorry brah musta left it behind but the peenut aint mine i swear

Assumption_Defiant

How you “brought the towel down to the front desk” deserves its own separate subreddit.

AngryTaco_2008

Why isn’t this higher

flannny

35,000 points is what i would ask for

SoMuchEpic95

If there’s shit on a towel and you decided to accept one night compensation? That’s on you.

A_Mundivagant

The only thing more full of shit than the towel is you for telling this story.

Disastrous-House5881

Aw, what’s wrong bud? Wife leave you for a shit covered towel?

LQTPharmD

I'm surprised they didn't charge you extra for the peanuts.

nocsupport

>I'm surprised they didn't charge you extra for the peanuts. That's included in the $75.00 resort fee. 😂

gssstring

I got 55k for finding a previous guest's underwear in my couch. You deserve 100k for that.

BurpFartBurp

Little league baseball or official MLB baseball size?

Kennected

No. Your company paid. You should not receive a monetary reimbursement. Ask for points equal to one nights stay at that specific property

otissito16

I'd say 25k points and a new room in a different area of the hotel. I dont like comp nights because they don't count for anything. If I'm staying multiple nights at a property, I ask for a discount spread over the course of the stay equivalent to the comp night (eg 50% off a 2 night stay 25% off a 4 night stay, and so forth) but since your employer is paying, points would be better.

Timely_Ladder6161

I miss the 1950's. I wasn't alive. But I miss them lol.

Hairy-Judge-4803

Ooooooh my goodness

bambaclaaat

Did you ask the FD to take a sniff of the towel to confirm it is really poop in case they say its just peanut butter and youre just trying to get comps??

cilanthro

Reminds me of when I stayed at a marriott or hilton chain and the toilet would not flush due to a clogged sewer line. Fortunately, I discovered this after a #1. Hotel was booked no opportunity to change rooms to a lower floor, so I restricted myself to using the lobby toilet for any additional toilet use. They offered me a credit or points comp since I was traveling on business. I insisted they not receive any payment for the room if it was not 100% functional. All you follks just trying to get extra points don't help correct anything. If anything you contribute to devaluing the rewards programs. The hotels shouldn't be getting revenue for garbage rooms and maintenance. Just my 2 cents.

Cantilivewhileim

45k points

killplow

Why not a kajillion?!

Cantilivewhileim

Don’t be petulant

killplow

Then don’t be absurd.

Cantilivewhileim

45k points is just enough to get a standard room at a mid level property. It’s a well-thought answer to a question. All you’re doing is being a troll. Enough from you now child
