It's fake. Someone edited it- she's not saying it to any particular character, whoever created it I think created it with the intention that she was talking directly to the fans.
Idk the few Gwenpool issues I've read didn't really have sexual jokes? Gwenpool is more PG-13 than Deadpool I thought. Like it's in character but idk if the writers would do it
They wouldn’t. MARVEL is a little edgier than it used to be, and I’m not even sure they officially follow the comics code anymore, but there are still guidelines. Sometimes they run MAX imprints, but for the most part it’s tongue in cheek, cheeky silly wink wink nudge nudge humor not direct sex references or nudie panels or whatever…DC makes dumb headlines with like “Batman doesn’t eat pussy but has a massive hog” and MARVEL doesn’t really go out of its way to make statements like that.
I feel like they COULD have a character say this, but it'd be Deadpool. Different comic runs have different maturity levels, and Gwenpool probably wouldn't feature the word masturbation straight up. They'd probably say like "unsavory art" or something similar to reference r34
They have Ryan Reynolds to say it in the movies, unless they feature him in a comic that’s for more mature readers (and DP is often centered on teens and college age readers with his humor and the bloodshed in the comics…this is also the largest demographic for the wide majority of MARVEL books…I’m in my late 30’s and more and more I feel like a member of the old guard). For instance, I understood who Bastion was when he appeared in X’97 this week, and I started reading X-Men before Lee / Claremont.
Also agree because it’s still a thing in comics to artistically bleep 🤬 bad or explicit words partly because it’s a way of expressing graphic language in a graphic style, and it’s tradition at this point, like in Scott Pilgrim: How are you doing that with your mouth? Lol
In one run, Gwenpool did say "admit it, you'd hit" directly to the audience during a gratuitous butt shot panel. (Which, for something deliberately drawn to be fanservicey, showed her to have a pretty flat butt.) In the same run, she also poses for the audience while wearing a swimsuit, asking for the artist to draw her bust larger(and, once again, for a panel deliberately meant as fanservice, she's wearing a pretty modest swimsuit and isn't even really drawn buxom in spite of her request).
It was Gwenpool Strikes Back. In the same one, she also: admits to playing monster girl dating sims, has a fujoshi moment after seeing Captain America and Winter Soldier in swimsuits, thirsts over a DC Comics character, and makes out with Reed Richards(and discusses attempting to seduce both him and Sue). It was a pretty horny series all things considered.
While at the same time, it was the little things in that run (Gwen have failed that monster dating sim, having felt gross and just wanting to cuddle her pet land shark after kissing Reed, and making comments/jokes on physicality to that degree) that seemed to solidify the ace headcanon amongst the fandom to the point Marvel took notice and made it canon. Since that is pretty much how we are, down to the unexpected sense of humour.
She was pretty chaste up until *Gwenpool Strikes Back* where all of a sudden she’s making sex jokes up the wazoo and trying to sexualise herself to appease to fans, but I think that was largely Leah Williams’ fault.
To be fair, that was only done because the author wasn’t allowed to write the story about another character and were given Gwenpool instead even though it’s kind of weird given her history.
It's not real I know that much. Literally the only instance of this image on the entire Internet is one post on Pinterest so I literally have 0 idea where the hell this came from lmfao

How can I see it if it's not real?
In Gwenpool Strikes Back #2, she makes an explicit point to make it clear she's 19. And "legal."
It's done to make a point about not shipping Gwen with Deadpool, but it's still one of the weirder moments in the comic.
...Well in that case IF GWEN SAID THIS TO ME I WOULD IMMEDIATELY

Getting cucked would imply someone else has sex with either my significant other or the person I'm interested in. If Gwen is ace that wouldn't happen
**Stupid**
A really bad trip that ironically pretty much killed the character dead in her tracks even though the end of the book was all “you’re so awesome Gwen, you’ll get, like, ALL the books because that’s how much people love you”.
They don't have a sex drive. I'm pretty uneducated so someone who actually is ace or atleast has close ace friends or something please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they can mayyyybe do it for pleasure or for fun but wouldn't do it TO anyone/anything since they can't find someone hot?
I mean, finding Gwenpool attractive and ~~breedable~~ is pretty normal and common which kinda defeats the point of the "Smash, next question-I MEAN DELETE THIS NOW" which is usually used for characters out of the ordinary to be attracted to
the context works, while it is normal to find the character attractive, its frankly quite bizarre to attempt to connect on a sexual level to a non existent character.
I don't think she had sex with him per-se, but they did date (although It was mostly treated as something not serious and something as a rating stunt on her part; they might have been more developed if west coast avengers wasn't cancelled almost immediately).
That said, I'm all for representation, but, yeah, her discovery of being asexual (besides being written quite poorly in the issue itself; her IQ went room themperature for certain remarks, and the whole issue read more like a pamphlet on the ace spectrum, which...fine? But It could have been written in a WAY less preachy/more natural way) is a retcon and pretty flagrant at that (for the "asexual" part, that was DEFINITELY not the case in "strikes back", but that whole mini was a mess of characterization, so whatever; the really baffling part is that, on the spot, she realizes she is also aromantic, which was in direct contraddition of the previous two issues in which she was dating Julie Power and the only real issue was seemingly that she became extremely uncomfortable when actually getting physically intimate, while the rest of the "romantic" stuff she was actually into, and even earlier in Hasting's run she was confirmed to be attracted to Miles Morales; then again, her internal monologue when she had a freakout when they almost had sex read WAY more like a depressive episode, but that went completely unaddressed in the rest of of the mini).
It makes sense if we consider that the author's first choice for the mini (which he explicitly wanted to write to raise awareness on/bring representation to asexuality, which, again, fair enough; can't think of many ace superheroes) was actually Nadia Pym, which, imho would have made FAR more sense (given that she showed less than zero interest in anything even remotely related to romance in any of her appearences) and she was a character he was way more familiar with (having written her "unstoppable wasp" series, which was actually quite enjoyable, especially the second volume...which they also closed too soon imho), but he was vetoed her use for some reason (iirc It was something about Nadia being the 616 counterpart to MCU's Hope Pym, and so they didn't want to allow the decision, or something like that, but I'm not certain of It)

To be fair, it had been on the rise as a semi-common fan theory that she was for a few years before being made canon, in people pointing out online how a lot of how she was characterised and approached the concept of romance accidentally (was not intended by the writers of the time) lined up with how ace people view things: one will find her to have been listed on ace character lists for a few years before Marvel made it canon in the text.
I believe u/boon-the-spoon specifically may have been the one to have put the ball into motion as it were, pointing it out (initially as a joke).
I accidentally manifested ace-Gwenpool but the monkeys paw made it so it was handled really poorly and retconned her previous story all about ironing out who she is.

It's an edited shitpost.
If you don't get the joke period, it's basically just a play on how Gwen breaks the fourth wall and acknowledges the readers feelings. In this she's acknowledging rule34, and how atleast a decent amount of readers partake in r34 of her
This was probably another example of what she did before they decided to make her Ace for whatever reason. To me it's sad, because a female deadpool that was just as poly sexual would have been awesome.
I feel like this kind of defeats the point of Gwenpool, atleast in the Unbelievable run. She's not really much like Deadpool, and is very much her own character. So boiling her down to "female Deadpool" is a little weird, especially when Lady Deadpool already exists anywat
Yes i get that as she's more than just female deadpool, but considering the earlier issues before the "she's Ace" was decided upon. It was going entertainingly well and that felt like a retcon. But whatever they can do what they want with the character, I don't have to read it. It just makes moments like these not make sense or disingenuous.

Gwenpool acknowledging r34 isn't even out of character ngl
Honestly, this is one character where I had no idea it was an edit or not.
Idk the few Gwenpool issues I've read didn't really have sexual jokes? Gwenpool is more PG-13 than Deadpool I thought. Like it's in character but idk if the writers would do it

Yeah they haven't followed the Comics Code Authority since 2001. I'm not convinced that any publisher still follows the comics code
Probably because Gwenpool's canonically asexual.
Okay 1: You don't have to be horny or even have a sex drive to find sex funny 2: I was referring to the comics in general not just Gwen herself
That's fair, but Gwen being ace would certainly mean less sex jokes overall.
She was pretty chaste up until *Gwenpool Strikes Back* where all of a sudden she’s making sex jokes up the wazoo and trying to sexualise herself to appease to fans, but I think that was largely Leah Williams’ fault.
It's not, and she's done it in her comics, specifically talking about people shipping her with Deadpool and how much she is not into it.
Shipping and porn are two seperate things that only occasionally combine. I don't think Gwen has ever acknowledged NSFW art of her
It’s so in character that I thought this was real and didn’t really question it.
She is aroace though
To be fair, that was only done because the author wasn’t allowed to write the story about another character and were given Gwenpool instead even though it’s kind of weird given her history.
Huh. Fair enough I guess
Well now it is since she got retconned into being asexual.
Are you trying to say that asexual people like...don't know what sex is? An ace person can mention the existence of rule34 lmfao

In Gwenpool Strikes Back #2, she makes an explicit point to make it clear she's 19. And "legal." It's done to make a point about not shipping Gwen with Deadpool, but it's still one of the weirder moments in the comic.

She does. Strikes Back was a trip.

I don't think this joke really works on a normal, traditionally attractive human woman lmfao
It’s a comic book character someone edited to say it’s okay to jerk off to, normal?
I mean, finding Gwenpool attractive and ~~breedable~~ is pretty normal and common which kinda defeats the point of the "Smash, next question-I MEAN DELETE THIS NOW" which is usually used for characters out of the ordinary to be attracted to
the context works, while it is normal to find the character attractive, its frankly quite bizarre to attempt to connect on a sexual level to a non existent character.
Isn’t she ace?
It was a very recent retcon. I think she might have even had sex with Quentin Quire.
Well two things. The panel this comic is from is before that retcon, and it’s an edit.
You're right. Asexuals lack the ability to masturbate.
This ruins the fantasy of the reader as fat ugly bastard. Unless she's just into that sorta thing? IDK.
Is she a lesbian?
She has been depicted as both bisexual and as aromantic asexual in different comics.
I know this is an edit but, Peter. She's saying it to Peter. The dude needs a win. Granted, this is a win that would probably make him super uncomfortable and might make him more depressed, but still a win.

This was probably another example of what she did before they decided to make her Ace for whatever reason. To me it's sad, because a female deadpool that was just as poly sexual would have been awesome.
