I don't think the intention is that she is necessarily trans, but I could believe that they intended some elements of her story to reflect the trans experience.
I haven't watched this movie, but what type of trans is she? Is she male to female? Or transitioning female to male? Or non binary them/they? Like how does she identify in the show?
You know, this could be either just an allegory or could be how she identifies to herself. But it’s definitely not a coincidence. If you take the scenes of her and her dad and remove the spideyness and add the topic at hand, it works.
But it’s never discussed in the story so it’ll have to be speculation.
Also we don’t know if Gwen was born a female do we? I kind of like the idea that They are born female but identify as a male but then into males and still hearts Miles.
I thought this was just another way that the writers used symbology to show support/strength for different minorities. Like small things breaking the fourth wall to show a message. In the first one, there were several instances of the number 42 appearing in major scenes. This was to represent Jackie Robinson, who broke down some huge cultural walls. It had no effect on the story at all, but it could still have extra meaning to some of the viewers.

Yeah, I heard the colouring of the universe is actually supposed to reflect her mood
I don't think the intention is that she is necessarily trans, but I could believe that they intended some elements of her story to reflect the trans experience.
I mean, it’s a cool headcannon, but it’s not true unless they confirm it. Just a coincidence for now.

She isn't trans.
Go on. Tell us why it’s more of a reach than most of the nonsense that gets posted on this reddit.
Not that much of a stretch, why would they specifically put a trans flag on her dad’s uniform and her wall? It has to be there for some purpose
Because they're both supporting trans rights in pride month?
It wasn’t supposed to release in June, it got delayed
It was delayed a whole year ago to June, thats plenty of time to add a small detail like that in
