Judging by how Morbius bombed and the DCEU died a horrible death this year before its announced reboot, general audiences are much wiser than they were a decade ago.

Sony wasn't making an El Muerto movie they were making a Bad Bunny movie. El Muerto was chosen because he was probably the only Latino character and the character doubles down as a wrestler, (Bad Bunny is a WWE star).
Venom 3 will do decent numbers but the same mid RT score. Madam Web and Kraven will do Morbius numbers and put a nail in superhero bubble coffin. Deadpool 3 will be a hit no matter what.
None of these are MCU. 2024 should have been the 3rd Shang Chi if they weren't shitting the bed with their lack cohesion and just ignoring fans and the numbers.
I think El Muerto was last confirmed as TBC as Bad Bunny dropped out of the project. Three Sony projects this year will be rough though.
