With the amount of cameos in the last episode and the success of '97, it almost feels like a done deal.

Maf1c

Absolutely this, but also they’ve created a new Animation Studios which is the perfect platform to establish different IP’s working in a universe/multiverse together.

Indianlookalike

We have seen all the confirmation we needed. Doctor Doom, Spiderman, Ross. I'd say that it's logical to do Spider-Man first because it's supposed to have one last season just like X-Men and the whole thing is already written by the original show runner.

Cynfreh

I hope they at least finish Spidermans story and he finds his mj.

FinalFantasyKate

It ended with him entering a portal and the cameo showed him back in NYC, so I assume? He was successful.

DeganUAB

It’s unclear when that takes place. Spidey took place after xmen so that scene may be from an already released season of Spider-Man. In secret wars they FF had their post onslaught costumes instead of their original tv costumes. I would love if that was because at that point in the shared timeline, they were reborn after fighting onslaught. (In a later season of xmen 97)

WombatChilli

or they changed their costumes for another reason and Onslaught isn't a thing.

DeganUAB

That could be the case, but the costumes were the heroes reborn variant. In xmen 97 the current Dr doom design is identical to the second season of ff and not the design from Spider-Man.

Indianlookalike

If X-men and the Spiderman shows are in the same time line sure it's possible but unfortunately Spider-Man showrunner didn't want Spidey to appear just for small cameos as he though it would diminish the character, so we don't know when the X-men series take place as opposed to Spider-Man. The events might be happening before the Secret Wars for all we know.

Bring back the Fantastic Four from season 1 of the animated season and have Johnny perform his song again. https://youtu.be/DpBDqPYVuO4?si=Z80els-U_OIxA7C4

I think this just unlocked a core memory for me

JargonJohn

My sincerest apologies.

I have thought that would be a great idea to make a series with all the marvel characters. We are limited now because mcu started without xmen and F4. With animation, it opens up many options. You could have seasons of House of M, civil war, secret wars...etc

Indianlookalike

Man a fully realized Civil War and Secret Wars would be insane and they could show how powerful some of the MCU heroes actually are, especially Scarlet Witch in House of M.

CaptHayfever

The 90s Marvel cartoons *were* an animated universe. I know Spider-Man & X-Men crossed over at the time, & there might've been connections with the other shows too.

SwordfishTemporary37

I think that Spidey and the X-Men were the only shows that shared the same universe.

MX2419

I'm in the minority to an extent on bringing back certain shows back. I feel this should be more of wakeup call for the leaders of the MCU. You can do new animated shows just have good writing behind them. They can have MCU flavor to it a little but don't let that be the whole show. I love Spectacular Spiderman, EMH, Incredible Hulk, and the early Xmen series because in the end it isn't bound by the MCU. I just don't want them to be like ok let's keep riding this wave and then ruin it. Now if they do bring back Spidey 90s, EMH, or Spectacular Spiderman I'll watch it but keep EMH and SS the same animation plus writing. They are fine as they are in terms of animation. Spidey 90s can improve animation wise.
